Of course Interstellar Travel exists but the real question is who, or most likely what, gets to make the journey. The only way the human race will ever spread through the galaxy, let alone the universe, is if we digitally store our consciousness for the trip because our frail squishy bodies will never survive the journey to anywhere truly meaningful.
Greek Mythology spoke of Inter Planetary War. If you read it like Civilizations on those planets and the Sun waging wars , it would be the first Western Depiction of life of other planets.
The issue is this. We aren't doing much in the vacuum space. We float around, that's about it. Once we can actually work in the space, things will change. We think about traveling with resistance because on the planet there's always resistance. In the vacuum space that goes away. That's why just a squirt of air will move a space craft. I think you complexicate your pathway to finding Intersteller travel by marvelling at the Scale and not by Scalling down the Scale. Just as you scaled down the Distance, use same scale to find the path to interstellar travel. Instead of propelling on a linear path from one point to another, how about Using Gravity to enter Higher Orbits and navigate orbits to enter the orbit of the System you are traveling to. We are revolving around the Milky way which means the Force of the MWay is stronger than that of the Sun. Be can enter the MWay orbit and then Navigate into the orbit of a system inside the MWay. Interstellar travel is simply to enter the orbit of a system.

The Idea that the conquering man ould listen to preachers and prophets when they arrive to a paradice and see other living things there proves you are a liar. There is no part in earth's history when humans have been collectively like that. All it takes to start a war of conquest is just one man and hid his followers. You want humans to travel to other planets because of the thrill to witness it happen not because of some higher purpose of man.
