@@Stormertheboy This was recorded only several weeks before his death, so its safe to assume that he was undergoing end-of-life-care at this point, yes.
Василий Погреев Yeah, and in the Scarface game’s defense, it simply would not be Scarface without Pacino’s likeness. However, I don’t see why they required it exclusively.
@@syberpunk true, Michael isn’t the “playable character” in this game like Scarface, but it’s still a little distracting that the VG Michael looks very little to nothing like Al Pacino did in '72 or even sounded.
The chilling, dark and utterly poetic fact of Brando in his deathbed reprising his greatest role in the scene of Corleone's deathbed. So tragic, so harrowing, yet so beautiful. Life's a rollercoaster.
This is indeed Brandos voice, the only bit of dialogue he recorded for the game that was used...the reason given being that Brandos oxygen/breathing equipment which he couldnt do without was too audible but that wouldnt matter in this particular game scene I guess. To be fair, I barely understood a word he said, if the rest was like that I can see why little was used and perhaps the game makers were being kind laying the blame on the breathing equipment.
Rather poetic that Brando’s last performance was reprising the role that practically catapulted him to global stardom and is still regarded to this day as the greatest performance ever by an actor.
Damn, I can't believe how powerful this is. It's like listening to the ramblings of a grandparent in a hospice room knowing damn well the end is coming soon. I never thought this randomly made tie-in game could give such a beautiful send-off to a legend. ...And it's the same devs as 007 Agent Under Fire and Everything or Nothing who would go on to make Dead Space. Legendary games from my childhood.
@@GStefanes_ actually means a lot thank you very much today's been very hard giving your 6 years of your life to look after someone you love to see everything you work for that is it really hurts

I recently got the PSP version, and I had actually forgotten about this bit until I was on my second playthrough by accident. I was kinda surprised they left it in the PSP version, considering how weirdly different it is from the main console version. It was also way easier to understand since that version actually has subtitles. But yeah, what a thing to listen to, either way.
Replayed this game a couple of times since when I first played this game around 2010, didn't know there were was a conversation there, just went to the basement and did Michael's bidding. That's really chilling to hear.
The fact that he made to 80 years old at 400 pounds is mind blowing. You don't see men that big live that old, but Marlon Brando was a rarity. I got to give Brando props for not giving a s&%^ and making it to 80.
CaptainOT Thanks for also posting the transcription because I sure as hell couldn't understand a single word he said either lol The audio recording is just too poor.
On his death bed recording a death bed message ....wow
wedontknow more method than the method itself
Died doing his last act.
It's sad
wait he filmed this on his death bed??
@@Stormertheboy This was recorded only several weeks before his death, so its safe to assume that he was undergoing end-of-life-care at this point, yes.
I find it very fitting that Brando's final performance was him reprising his greatest role.
Not counting apocalypse now, which I feel was just haunting more than anything
it was good but apocalypse could never surprass godfather
A Streetcar Named Desire is nearly tied with The Godfather as his best though. I'd give honorable mentions to On the Waterfront and Sayonara.
Colonel Kurtz?
@Jarred Knox his most iconic one atleast.. His best is either Stanley in Street Car Named Desire or Terry in Waterfront
There's something very haunting about the lack of music or other sound effects. Just enhances the surrealism of Brando giving his last performance.
tragically beautiful... when i was a kid playing this i would of never thought that this was the ACTUAL marlon brando giving his final performance.
Funny how Pacino allowed his image to be used in a Scarface game but not The Godfather. RIP Brando
I believe that he didn't allow it because Francis Copolla didn't agree with the making of the game in the first place.
He couldn't give his likeness, because Pacino licensed his likeness to Scarface game
Василий Погреев Yeah, and in the Scarface game’s defense, it simply would not be Scarface without Pacino’s likeness. However, I don’t see why they required it exclusively.
Yeah, he had to choose one or the other.
And as important as The Godfather is, Pacino IS Scarface. That's his signature movie. The choice was obvious.
@@syberpunk true, Michael isn’t the “playable character” in this game like Scarface, but it’s still a little distracting that the VG Michael looks very little to nothing like Al Pacino did in '72 or even sounded.
This is downright depressing.

Life's a rollercoaster.
This is not Corleone’s deathbed. You’re thinking too hard
Poor Brando you can hear the pain and sickness in his voice
This is indeed Brandos voice, the only bit of dialogue he recorded for the game that was used...the reason given being that Brandos oxygen/breathing equipment which he couldnt do without was too audible but that wouldnt matter in this particular game scene I guess. "Everybody's got their own tale of sorrow, that's life."
Damn this is sad.
Very fitting final words. A drama actor til the end.
God bless him R.I.P Marlon Brando :( my biggest influence in life.
That's sad 😥 but at the same time we get to hear Marlon Brando's voice for the last time
They recorded him doing More lines for other bits of the game but couldnt edit out his oxygen machine enough so replaced him in all but this
If I ever get into filmmaking, it’s because of Marlon Brando. One of the greatest actors ever.

I remember only discovering this on my 8th or 9th playthrough. Best discovery in the game. (Along with the weird hobos in the train yards).;

This is really dark and sad yet fitting / poetic
wow when I played this as a child I would have never known!
God this is heartbreaking to listen to
it is the real marlon brando voice :DD

Now that's a real gangster
You know the guy from citizen cane? His last performance was a children’s transformers movie in the 80s. Oh how the mighty fall so so low
Transformers 1984? That was a great movie.
Orson was a very grouchy man in his later years
He hated being around people, Billy Crystal once said he met Orson in his later years and Orson told him to fuck off upon introducing himself

woah :(
Pretty cool.
Al-thonce Pa-thino.
don corleone would never have said this. but brando worked with the material he was given, to make it work
The material he was given was actual quotes from The Godfather novel. Read the description.
Are you mentally disabled?
Ahh ... the terrible irony :/
What about Big Bug Man
"Big Bug Man" was never released - it still sits on a shelf. This was recorded in 2004 and released in 2007.
No 2006
What's he saying
Click on the video description... it's all there

mysteryjesus Well he was wearing an oxygen mask
"Everyone's got their own tale of sorrow."
Is this even acting?
He's speaking as a character - that's acting.
;c
Brando plays Vito Corleone, on the terrible game remake
This game was NOT terrible
