Eiko Masuyama The 1st to Voice Honey Kisaragi in The Original Cutie Honey Anime TV Series from 1973 to 1974 Was 88 Years Old, When She Died on May 20, 2024 14 Days Ago!!!
I like this song almost as much as the opening theme. It has a very Sixties feel, like a Japanese Petula Clark song. I wish somebody would sub the entire series!
Honey is the android that was maden by Dr.Kisaragi who is father of Honey. Dr.Kisaragi was killed on first episode. And Honey was telled that she is not human by her father.Honey is so lonely ・・・.This song has projected her lonely heart.
I like both those series. I like a lot of older anime too. It is sad many Americans prefer newer stuff, but they miss good series like Lupin Sansei, Urusei Yatsura and Macross.
Old school anime are blueprints for any style of animation around the world , and this is one of them. Without Lupin the 3rd , Mazinger Z , Gundam ,& Cutie Honey today animation will be weak as hell.
Fun fact This song was used in Flash when Honey and Zera ( twilight prince) had their first kiss. Back when it happened Honey considered him as her version of Tuxedo Mask ( all Seira stuff was revealed much later)
this anime was broadcasted in US or UK? Japanese old animes are indeed beautiful, aren't they? I am very proud of getting old watching and hearing these wonderful animes.
No, this anime is totally inappropriate outside of Japan, especially in the West. It would rank either Restricted or Mature in ESRB if brought over here to the West.
This was never broadcasted in the United States. They probably would have never allowed this show to air on TV back then, most likely because American audiences would have deemed all of the sexual humor, violence and nudity this show had extremely inappropriate.
@@joseramirezchavez2146 It wasn't brought into the US until 1994 with Shin Cutie Honey and that version flopped because it was a follow up to the original anime. We did get Cutie Honey Universe dubbed in 2019, which brought Honey's VA back from Shin Cutie Honey but the original anime wasn't seen in the States until forty years after it aired. As a female fan, I see the series as empowering instead of what people often pass it off as, Hentai.
@Yogiri Oh really? but reasonable.this anime was indeed a little bit sexy. There were many expressions like that.It was very generous at that '70s in Japan.Come back '70s!
Wait....the man who created Honey had a daughter that died in an accident, my question is Is the soul of the girl inside of the android?? Does Cutey Honey have a soul??
I was born in the late 90s. But when I listen to this song I feel like a 50 years old man remembering his childhood in the 70s. It makes me feel sadness and nostalgia.
Curiously they played this theme in the first episode of the 70s anime when "his father" died. It may have something to do with it. (And Nat-Chan as you say)

Sometimes I miss the subtle things the sounds of the 70s brought us like the harmonica. Really makes things feel homey and down to earth :)

This is such a great contrast to the action of the show.
70s cartoon action, but still.
Our two and half minutes of calm serenity.

thanks for sharing. This is my first time seeing this, even after the release of the ova's in the 90's.
Such a pleasant song to listen to~

Pretty song. Glad they used it in the live-action movie.
