This whole time I thought I was “doing it wrong” because I was holding the working yarn on my left 🖐!!! You have shown me the light! TY!!
You’re welcome! I am actually teaching a class on continental Knitting next month
this is the video i keep returning to to find the joining method. I look for the yellow yarn and the circular needles. Don't change this video! I still need it. Subscribing right now.
Lol I did I minor update in a new video. Check it out. It’s my new fav way to join!
The first time I've watched a tutorial where someone wears their working yarn in their left hand like me! Thank you!

Thank you so much for teaching us how to knit in the round! I love the unique way to join in the round. It makes so much sense. Thank you for taking your time and going slowly. Because by going slowly I was able to understand it so much better. Yours is one of the best videos out there on this topic. Thank you so much 😊🥰♥️
Jane K awe thank you for the positive feedback! 🥰
Thank you for this tutorial! I’ve been a knitter for years and always struggled to join in the round no matter what technique I used - this works perfectly 💜

I was struggling with this for weeks! Thank you so much!!! ❤️
You’re welcome! Hope the struggling is in the past now!
Beautiful tutorial! I'm green with envy over your knitting style and think I must learn it. Setting aside all WIPs as I speak.
thank you! I almost gave up knitting but I was determined so I found out about the continental!
This was so helpful to me. I hate that gap and struggled on how to get rid of it without having to repair it at the end. Thanks for posting!

Got a book and they just said JOIN with no explanation! Best video ever!!

You are so welcome! It's so much easier for me and I think for a lot of crocheters.
thank you for the great and easy to understand video 💖 i was a bit worried because i'm working on 2.5mm needles with very thin yarn, and any gaps would've been really noticeable, but this method worked perfectly!

Thank you for such a clear tutorial! I feel emboldened to now join my round without making my usual sloppy join. Edited to add, I'm currently joining 301 stitches 😅 and just subscribed.
So glad you enjoyed it! I redid this video and omitted transferring back the stitch. Give it a try and see which one you like best! 🥰

🖤
thank you so much
You’re welcome!🥰
Been searching for an easy tutorial like yours! The quickest I’ve hit subscribe 👍 also does the extra stitch have to be added in each row or only the first? Thank you!
Thank you so much! The additional one stitch is only for joining your round; all the other rounds should be worked according to the pattern
Thanks well done :)
Thank you too!
Thank you
You’re welcome! Thanks for stopping by!🥰
Grazie mille.
Prego.
Very nice join!
Thank you! ♥
Great explanation! Was wondering what this meant on my pattern.
Awesome, I’m so glad it helped
this makes it so easy to do, even though I'm a leftie. Many thanks
You’re welcome! I started providing left hand videos for my lefty makers!
this was so helpful! thank you! if i’m knitting a stocking stitch, do i just switch off between knit/purl when i get to the join?
Welcome! You can start after you join
If you’re doing stockinette stitch in the round, you’ll be doing knit stitches every rounds, not alternating knit row and purl row like in flat.
it actually looks way better if you don't slip back the first stitch to the left needle at the end
Thanks for the tip! I will have to try this next time!
So no extra stitch needed?
1:46 For reference
I don’t drop the stitch that I cross over to the left. My first stitch is a K2Tog. I like this method.
nice!
what happens if the little balls under the stiches are facing outwards instead of inwards ? So not twisted but all of them facing outwards ?
Not really understanding what you mean by that 🫣
can you let me know where you got your needels please i really like them
They are one of my favorites and the affiliate links are in the description box 😁
How do you wave in the ends with that tail? Do this technique works for magic loop?
It should work if you use magic loop. I usually weave my tail under the brim. I follow the cast on sts to make it look seamless
how do you keep the work from twisting when you have a very long cast on like for a cowl?
Any tips? Thank you
helen rieck before you join? You’ll just have to run your fingers along the sts when you’re ready to join to make sure it’s not twisted.
Thank you
Do you have to join every round
Shaina W. No, you only join the first round and then keep knitting in circles.
Curious what the next row will look like with that extra stitch? Also do you have a video on magic loop method?
There's no extra stitch. You drop it. I have a modified version of the magic loop.
how come you put it back on the left needle but most people don't?
I started doing this early in and now I leave the stitch alone. There’s a small (better) difference with leaving it alone.
1:35 is where it starts
Tutorial starts at 1:35
1:35!! 🛵

This didn't work for me... a huge line through my hat so I had to start over
Your voice reminds me of mary steenburgen lol
Lol really?
