When I’ve been trying to drain my ear the syringe keeps pulling back when I try to draw out the fluid. What am I doing wrong? 24g needle.

After I drain my ear I take about a nickel size magnet and clamp one of each side of the ear to keep it flat.

Please don't flip the alcohol wipe. Even though there is alcohol on it, you may be transferring bacteria from your finger, to the top of the wipe, and onto the ear surface. Use one side and don't wipe like you are wiping up a spill with a paper towel. And stop touching the pierce hole with your finger. You can give someone a fungal cauliflower ear and there is no draining it - then it requires medical visits with anti-fungal medication and possibly outpatient surgery. This is directly from an ENT that watched the video with me in his office. He gave a thumbs up but had a lot to say about your prep.
That said, good on you for showing people how to drain their ear. If they do not drain it, the blood swelling will make more tissue separate from the cartridge, and truly look like cauliflower permanently.

Keep draining it and stay ahead of the swelling. It will be thicker but not as swollen once the bleed stops.

Yeah, afaik everyting perfect but gloves on and a pair of proper magnets and that's all what's needed.
