It has come to my attention took AFTER filming this video that the larger ships (dream/fantasy) do have sailings coming up to Lookout Cay fairly soon so please disregard me saying otherwise in the video. 😅
From what I noticed the older ships are sailing to Lookout Point while the newer ships are mainly sailing to Castaway Cay. I feel like that was to maintain interest on the older ships since they will sail somewhere new. There are a lot of sailings for the magic to both Disney properties next spring and summer, which is what we will be doing. We’ve only been to castaway once so we have a lot of visits to make up there.
Yup we’ll be going there on 11/10 Fantasy cruise! Can’t wait. May eat on the ship though 😂😂
@@lorid3112Us too!!! double dip to castaway and one visit to lighthouse point on the Fantasy. I am obsessed with the fly issue. I think we will have a big breakfast and then an early dinner on the ship!! I saw another vlog that shows the flies had ended up on the ship at Cabanas!!😮
Eeek I saw that about Cabana’s too! Hoping they sort it out before November. Haha. I’m really excited for this port. I’m happy to just hang out in a beach chair all day.
Doing Nov. 2nd on the Fantasy. Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay. Beats going to Nassau again.
On Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point,
A cruise ship docked, the crew disjoint.
We stepped ashore with dreams so high,
Till flies attacked our apple pie.
They swarmed our lunch with zest untamed,
Each bite a challenge, each sip maimed.
In salads, drinks, they took their stand,
A buzzing blight on tropic sand.
So here’s a tip for those who sail:
Pack fly swatters without fail.
For paradise can swiftly die,
When your main course learns to fly.
BEAUTIFUL POEM!! 🙏
This! 😂
Your poem painted a very graphic picture. Kudos to your rhyming skills. Hope Disney reads it and fixes it!🤞🏽🤞🏽👏🏽👏🏽
😂😂😂😂
It’s nice to see that added towel and a water station after dropping the ball the week before. All about learning and growing
Flies in the Island would do it for me, doesn't matter how magical the experience there is something that can be done managing the flies,
They need to fumigate the island to keep the flys controlled.
A shame about the flies on the island. Hope the second visit worked out better! I feel like I'd be the type of person to bring a sun umbrella. That looks like it would be a brutal walk back to the ship.
OMG the flies in that one clip, I think they were worse on your cruise than videos I saw of the preview cruise!!!
Island. I will wait a year before I think about going.
What a beautiful little island. However, it's clear that Castaway is still the primary resort stop, judging by what I've seen so far. I guess it's still early days - will be really interesting to see how Disney continue to evolve this island over the next few years!
Adrain, as a nurse and type 2 diabetic on Ozempic. I inject in my stomach. I use a clock face around your belly button. Each week I use a different spot. Pinch your skin (tents up) insert needle and dispense dose. Make sure you wait 5-10 seconds before withdrawing needle (this is to ensure all of dose has time to be injected). I find that it is less painful in this area. Even for my patients at work I always teach around bellybutton. The newbie nurses teach leg and arm. I’m older and I was always taught to use the stomach around bellybutton for insulin, heparin and Clexaine. Hope this little tip is helpful to you. Love Perth Western Australia 🇦🇺
Yeah our docs told us the belly would be the better spots for sure!!
I had to inject myself with insulin while pregnant. I just picked up Ozempic and starting Friday. The fat belly area is best. Doesn't hurt and really can't feel it. Good luck!
Just had a thought: could they be thinking it injects like epinephrin, in the thigh? Ouch.
Island! The flies! Oh my!
I’m going on the Treasure in September 2025 and at first my family was a bit disappointed that the treasure wasn’t going to Lookout Cay. Now seeing videos, I’m kinda glad I’m not going yet. I would like to see the island evolve a little more and Disney take into consideration guests complaints to make the island better. My friend was on the preview cruise on the Magic and she said was that there was a lot of concrete and open space but not much shade. I also noticed that the renderings were A LOT more colorful than what was actually built. I would also like to see Disney put a pool in at their private islands. I’m not a huge beach person. Won’t be able to get there for a few years so I hope it changes for the better
We went a month ago, trust me, you’re missing nothing. After a long walk in the heat and sun, you wait another 20 minutes at least, in the heat and sun, only to find all the seating, lounges and umbrellas gone unless your willing to walk 100 yards through sand to take a chance. We got stuck sitting on a bar stool for two hours…went back to the ship early. DVC member here.. .. this was a HORRIBLE experience. It was 45 minutes exactly from the time we left the ship, till the time we got stuck on barstools by the beach bar.
The island itself looks beautiful, but they need to do something about the flies, the lack of shade, and lack of enough seating.
omg whatever you do dont google what flies leave behind on your food even its for a second. that situation is totally gross
The flies on the ISLAND are disgusting!! Love your vlogs as always thanks for sharing.
I love Disney but it seems like the opening was rushed 😢
27:00 - “I’m so tired, I’m going to take a nap” - SAME KID. 😂😅
Great video guys - thank you for continuing to put out amazing content! ❤
I saw a different video about the fly infestation 🤮 the flies were all over the buffet food, and the servers didn’t shoot them away, so that means by the time it got to your table, the flies had already been sitting on it. I would never eat there and now I just can’t watch Look Out Kay videos. Did they fix the issue? I had to skip over food parts
They have not fixed the fly issue😭🤢
🤢🤢🤮🤮
I totally understand how you feel I hate flies with a passion and can’t stand to even have one inside my house let alone on my food
All Disney have to do for a temporary measure is to put food covers over all the food and it’s such a simple thing that it’s shocking they’ve not done it already
No way would I eat on that island
We noticed on Castaway, the cabana taxi's will sometimes go above and beyond. When re-boarding the ship (albeit we went back early to shower before dinner so it wasn't as jammed up) our taxi dropped us off 2 steps from the ship, while others were getting dropped off at the tram by the family beach. Make that personal connection as early as possible and they'll take care of you.
Thanks for another awesome video Adrian. What I really love about what I love about watching your videos I feel like I’m on traveling with you guys and not in bed having to relearn how to walk again. As for the ISLAND it would be a pass for me right now. Can’t wait to see the next one! 😁
Wow, that is one long walk to the Island but the view from the Cabana's is really nice. But I'm not a fan of all those flies.
That orange ball is called a Monkey Fist. Every ship, even Naval, used them when tossing lines. It is a weight on the end of the mooring line so that the line travels further when thrown or launched using a modified M1 Carbine.
Island. I’m not going to lie-we have changed our next cruise itinerary so that we will not be going to Lighthouse Cay this morning. The flies alone-I wanted to 🤢. I am a nurse-no.dang.way.
We love Castaway Cay so we will head there instead.
Thank you for showing ALL aspects so we can be informed!
It has changed my mind to I don't think its worth $$$.
I’ll be changing mine if things don’t improve 🤷🏻♀️
Island. We loved watching this video and can’t wait to see your upcoming full review of the island. I really appreciate your complete honesty. It will definitely help us decide where to cruise to next.
Enjoyed this trip to the new island. Looking forward to your day 2 recap of Lookout Cay. Those flies were something else. Wow
Thanks for showing us all around the new island! Appreciate the work you did to put the video together.
I wanted to say how much I enjoy your videos. When I need something calm, enjoyable and makes me want to feel nostalgic about Disney and the other parks, I always look forward to your videos.
I'm hoping the island will look a lot better once the trees and other vegetation grow in. That will likely help with the insect problem as well by giving them another source of food than *our* food 😂 I think some of the things will iron out by themselves but I think Disney rushed this and now have to listen to guests when it comes to correcting the fallout
Island!!!! Loving this series and thanks for sharing!
Island, seemed like they have alot of work to do. Thank you very much for sharing.
Thank you for all the island content!!
Honestly, we may wait to visit the new ISLAND. Although we love everything Disney, I’m sure there is still more to come. Thank you! Excited to see your next videos.
Thank you for being raw about your opinions about the new island! About to watch the review video now!!! ❣️❣️❣️
Great 'island' video, you covered a lot thank you and keep up the great work.
Excellent video - I always enjoy both your commentary and videography. You have a similar vacation vibe to my family 😊❤
This was such a great vid! While it looks like Disney has some things to work out, I feel like they will and this would be a beautiful vacation spot. I have a lot of anxiety, so the amount of detail you put in your vids helps me so much and helped me feel confident to book our own Disney cruise!! Keep being awesome!
The “island” needs fly control
We were very tempted to try a cruise with this on the itinerary, but opted to wait just a little bit to let them work out some of the kinks and return to castaway. I think in a year this island will look absolutely beautiful once everything is grown in.
What a beautiful ship. The island🏝️ is so beautiful! Thank you, guys!
Loved watching the video! Great coverage of the ISLAND 😂
The water and the beach is truly breathtaking. But until they provide more shade and the nauseating fly situation is resolved, we won’t go. Hopefully it’s addressed soon
I can't wait to see the new Island! Your videos are so informative! I love how Nugget goes everywhere with Kota and he's wearing the band!
I had to screenshot the guy handing out wet towels when y’all got off the ship. I sent to my niece to ask her if that was our guy we had on the wonder back in September that did our dining and she said yes. It was nice to see one of our waiters.
The walk to the ISLAND looks long and HOT! And the flies yuck!
Hey! Good to see you on the Fantasy this trip. Thanks for your content as it's very informative.
Sincerely, the guy dressed as Rufio on pirate night.
Island 🏝️ 🥰 the family cabanas look stunning…can’t wait for the full tour 💕
Ohh this was SO great! 💃🎊 No matter what ISLAND Disney decides to make a private destination out of , it will always be a magical experience. Thank you for sharing. 🫶😊💕
I can’t wait to see your review on Lookout Cay! I’m excited to visit the ISLAND in September!
Thank goodness for these videos. I ended up getting Covid for the 1st time ever after my visit to DW to do the AP preview of Tiana’s Bayou , and I haven’t felt this sick since 2007 when I had the flu (while in Disney world ironically) Your videos are getting me through being bed ridden ! Thank you !
Feel better soon! 🙏🙏🙏
I was wondering how Lookout Cay was going to handle the crowd from the Fantasy, as it wasn't handling the Magic very well when we were there. Simply not enough tables for the lunch crowd. Let's not even discuss the flies.😑 You mentioned that the Fantasy will not be going there for the foreseeable future. However, we will be on the Dream in December, and it is scheduled for both Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay. I wish I could say we're looking forward to it. But after the first visit I'm not sure I want to go back. In any event, always love your vlogs!
We will be on the Fantasy Nov 10th sailing going to Lookout Cay, and have watched a few videos and hope they figure everything
Looks like a Beautiful ISLAND... Just need to get rid of those flies before I'll be booking a trip and eating there.. I would have to wait to eat back on the ship.
Looks like the cabanas were your favorite part of the ISLAND experience! Hopefully, Disney will eventually add underwater objects to see for those who pay for snorkeling.
I have been waiting for this vlog. I have seen many other vlogs about this island resort, but yours is the one I have been wanting to watch.
Flies seem to be the common thread on all the videos. So sad.
It is beautiful and I am sure that as the trees and greeney matures, it'll be even nicer. Hopefully we can visit next year.
Ill be waiting for the cabanas vlog. They look spacious and comfy.
Loving the videos; Adrian & Kota! I’m also happy that you’re pairing up with Peter & Kitra. Excited for the vlogs & you honest opinions for Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. I know so far; the biggest issues & complaints have been the “long” walk along the pier & the flies. Not sure I’ll ever cruise the East Coast sailings; as my disability limits a lot of how much I can travel without lying down. Plane rides from my home in San Diego would be too long; or adding extra expenses. So for now; my hope is to sail The Wonder in Spring 2026. Can’t wait to hear everyone’s take ; on “the island” 😊🏝️🏖️❤🚢
Appreciate your review of the “island.” We are going in January and hope they have worked some of the kinks out on Lookout. The video gives Busch Gardens vibes to me…
I enjoyed watching your day on the island!
Thanks for sharing the new ISLAND stop!
Theres a reason why they call it "port" side. Use to be that ships would be steered by a long oar and the side it was on was the opposite side they would load from.
Thanks for the video we are going to the ISLAND May 2025 it will be interesting to see how the facilities of Lighthouse will evolve between now and then.
We are on the Fantasy in November for a 5 night cruise that is going to to Lookout Cay and Castway. I hoping they can get the flies 🪰 undercontrol 😯 Thanks for sharing 🤗♥️🚢😃
Island - looks beautiful! Yes hope they can do something about the flies. :) Great video!
Worried about all the flies at the island.
I felt that kid when they said they needed a nap on the tram 😂😂 had a big day on the ISLAND ❤
Omg the merch
Looks SOOOO CUTE
Cool…….I just saw my user name post as a member on your vlog!!! 😊😊😊
I really enjoy your vlogs. I’ve cruised on DCL 9 times to date but still learn new things from watching your vlogs. Late cruise was during the Fall of 2018. Next cruise will be Fall of 2025 where my wife and I will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and once that cruise is finished I will have received my platinum status.
😊😊😊
Island! Can't wait to see the next video with your first impressions of Lookout Cay.
I’m very disappointed there are so many flies on the ISLAND. While the sand and water look extraordinarily inviting, I can’t get over the flies around the food.
Thank you for sharing ❤Island
We are headed to Lookout in October. Based on your video the ISLAND looks amazing. And it sounds like Disney has some improvements to make. Thanks for some of the ideas too. I was pegged for snorkel gear but now may not do it since we will at castaway.
It hurt cause you were on your feet walking all day so your muscle was tense. Thanks for the video. I hope they fix the fly and seating situation by November when I go on the Dream.
I take Victoza for diabetes and additionally I use 2 types of insulin each day. Total of 7 injections at the least every day. I use pen needles i did not see a pen needle on the injection end of your pen. Thinking it maybe be a one use injection like when an injection is needed due to an allergic reaction to something. . I could see the pain in your eyes and on your face. I have no idea the size of needle you need to use. Since i take right at 50 injections a week I totally understand the " Where do i poke myself now?" look. Keep doing what ever it takes to lose weight which will help keep you away from type 2 diabetes. I have watched your vids from your early days. I appreciate your honesty with reviews. Thank you both for bringing us along on your adventures.
One thing I don’t understand is why they didn’t build a pool like Coco Cay. I feel Disney missed an opportunity to make Lookout Cay different than Castaway Cay. Feels like the same thing looks like the same island with the one exception you have to walk a mile in the heat with no shade. Very surprised they didn’t make it very different just like their Parks! Oh well
Island!
Can’t wait to hear you and Koda’s overall thoughts on Lookout Cay on the next video, a little disappointing but will stay optimistic!
@ThemeParkExpress love your videos! Going on our first DCL vacation on the Magic next year in April! Question for you- did you guys ever post the link to the pattern Koda uses for her crochet ducks? I was looking for that! Thanks!
Thank you for your honest review of Disney’s new ISLAND destination. We go in December. Wonder what changes by then!
We enjoyed the video exploring the island. We’re set to visit on the fantasy in November and are eager to check out
Lookout island and castaway on the same trip.
Flies and food do not mix!! Like you, I wonder what their solution will be for the Island. We have booked the Magic for 2025 (Sept 5-10), going to Lookout Cay (and Castaway). Last year, we shared the Fantasy in September with your guys! Enjoy your Vlogs-we did make a Cameo appearance in one, lol. We are scheduled for the Fantasy this year as well, Sept 14-21. We can't wait! Blessing!
My family and I are heading to Lookout Cay on the Fantasy for their 10 day sailing in July. Makes sense now they wouldn’t bring the larger ships here. But nervous 😬 I hope some of these kinks are worked out by the time we sail. Thank you for sharing your experience!
The island is beautiful!!
We're on a Fantasy sailing to Lookout Cay in February, so the larger ships are definitely coming out there. But it looks like what they're doing is taking what would be a double-dip to Castaway Cay and turning one of those into a stop at Lookout Cay instead.
I think the bigger issue is that the island just isn't finished. I'm sure Disney will keep making improvements and additions over time, I'm just hoping the fly issue is sorted by our cruise next year.
Thanks for the heads up on the snorkeling. We have our own gear we'll bring.
So basically what your saying is stay with castaway got it!!! lol love the vlog man!!!
Sorry in advanced for the lengthy comment: I just got off a cruise on the magic, and we docked with port-side facing the island, just as you did on the fantasy. On our cruise they were NOT handing out towels mid-pier, but they were at the end. The check out situation at Disney tings did seem a little disorganized. Some people would be in line inside then someone would take them outside and overall I felt like I was ready to check out and didn’t know where to go because there wasn’t really a designated line. It may have just been because everyone was trying to get merch, just like in your video. My friend and I thought about going to serenity bay, since we loved it on castaway, but opted for the family beach area. There are SO MANY beach chairs and different areas in the family section and we only had 3-4 families around us, so it was ultimately less crowded than what we imagined serenity bay would be. As you said, we were on a smaller ship, so that could have contributed as well. We didn’t eat on the island, since we preferred food options on the ship, but the bees seemed worse when we got drinks/ice cream over the flies.
My thoughts on the pier walk: it’s doable, just wear comfortable shoes you know you can walk in and wear a hat of some variety to keep cool and the sun off your face.
I will say that I got the truffle pasta at animators palate this cruise BECAUSE of you, and it was a 10/10 appetizer that I will be ordering on every cruise moving forward.
I can’t wait to see the next video on your thoughts (and Koda’s) about the island. My friend and I also had lengthy discussions over lookout cay vs. castaway
We are not sailing to this ISLAND til next January on the WISH. Hope they have the flies worked out. Thanks for your video
The new island looks like it will be amazing!! Once the plant life grows in and they work out the kinks. Can’t wait to one day visit!!
Love the content! I definitely feel like DCL has a great opportunity either way the island… so far it might be a miss for me… but I’m interested to see how they will improve it over time
I like the longer videos!
Thanks for the info. Will be visiting the "Island" in Sept.
I’m interested to see in your upcoming video of your second stop to the island and see how your perspective of the island has changed.
Island…Lookout Cay looks pretty but I’m not impressed I think the fly issue has completely turned me off☹️
Thanks for another interesting video of this part of the" Island". Looking forward to your opinion after your second day.
Also, make sure you are letting the alcohol dry before your injections as that may be why you are getting the stinging sensation from your injections :)
Pharmacist here! Your wegovy pen can stay at room temperature for up to 28 days! So no need to bring the whole box or multiple pens and worry about keeping them cold. They will do just fine at room temperature!
Will be going to Lookout Cay this October on The Fantasy. Hoping the flies are under control by then! But I am looking forward to seeing everything!
My mom and I have the fantasy booked next May and yuo, you guessed it: we'll be coming to Lookout Cay.
Not excited in the least to be stopping here
One day I wish to visit an Island, there are many Islands in Hawaii that look really cool. Ohh! Maybe I’ll go and try some dole whip on one of those Islands. 🎉
The Island looks amazing.
What a beautiful ISLAND! I hope to someday visit. :)
We are going on the Fantasy fairly soon (at least I think it is soon, we're counting down) and we do not have a stop on either cruises in the new Island Look Out Cay and I do not really mind if I have read all the reviews so far and saw some video's. I think it will be a lot better in a couple of years, it also took some time for Cast Away to be the way it is now. I saw you are at our "homepark" in Paris right now, can't wait for those vlogs!!!
Adrian when you are doing the shot try rubbing the area a little harder and I usually pinch some of my skin and put the shot there. Hope this helps with the sting.
Island life, I guess is fly life. Haha. As for your comment on bigger ships not going, not true. The Dream will be going. We're on a cruise next spring with a Castaway /Lookout double dip.
At the time of filming I didn’t realize this 😅
@@ThemeParkExpress how dare you not know every DCL itinerary 🤣
From the aft of the Fantasy on the first LHP day there was a beautiful, full circle rainbow that I got some pictures and video of. I thought it was a perfect way to start our first day at LHP.
Oh gosh that looks like a lot of walking. Beautiful looking island though.
