I have two German Shepherds and I make sure they have plenty of water to help prevent constipation. Plain pumpkin is good and so is plain probiotic yogurt, just a few tablespoons of either. Love, love, love your channel! You are adorable!
Pumpkin is amazing for dogs and cats. I once worked in an animal shelter vet clinic and we ordered pumpkin by the case because we used it to help with diarrhea in cats etc. Awe, Ellie looks like a very sweet puppy! You're a great dog mom! You can also give plain yogurt and slices of apple or apple sauce for constipation. Prunes would also be healthy and good for her. I give my dog the apple core but remove the seeds first. She gets oatmeal now and then too. Also, that soft boiled egg would be a fantastic treat for Kona. ♥️
This additional vlog will help us subscribers who have been wanting an additional video because 1 week has been too long between them. Thank you for all that you do Giselle. I absolutely love 💗 your Life As A Hutterite.
Hi Catherine Beebe. We may be related as the name Beebe can also be spelled Bybee which is my family's name. I was so happy to see your last name! I love watching Giselle's vlog. She is a lovely girl with a heart for God. I would adopt her if I could.
I am impressed that your name was Buber. I do genealogy and see the name does get spelled in different ways throughout the years. Do you live in Canada or the states? Yes, adoption would be nice. I have two daughters, but always room and love enough for one more. Especially a sweet girl like Giselle!
You always do such an amazing job! I am so excited to get to watch a little bit of your life. I just want to say one thing. Whenever God gives you a husband he is going to be SO blessed by who you are! You are such a gift to this world! Beautiful on the outside and inside! Thank you for always picking the most peaceful and anointed music for your vlogs and scripture at the end. We need more of this during these crazy times we live in! Much love from PA, Julia
When I was in boarding school (it was a rural one) a local farmer needed help getting their potatoes in so some of us teenagers volunteered to do that. We worked from early morning until evening for two days, it was hard work but fulfilling to do...boy do I admire the work you and your colony do in the garden and fields Giselle. It's encouraging and inspiring, thank you! 👍😊❤
Dogs make my heart happy. Ellie is a sweetie but Kona has my heart. I used to own a German Shep, they are so loyal but also can be playful funny and goofy. My dog is no longer with me and I did not get another because she was irreplaceable, but I enjoy seeing the love Kona has for you.
Giselle, I love how you share things like having a boiled egg from yesterday, when you were hungry ... these are skills for life that are so important. ❤️🌷
I'm a veterinarian. Pumpkin, Metamucil, and high fiber dog food are what I recommend for my patients with constipation. Most weight control foods are high in fiber. Start with one, and see how it goes. If you use commercially canned pumpkin, make sure you get solid pack pumpkin, not pumpkin pie filling. For a big dog, about 1/2 cup pumpkin, or a tablespoon of Metamucil (generic is fine). Avoid anything sugar-free. Those often contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs. Love your videos! I use them to de-stress, which we vets need badly lately!
I love your channel! My boy has significant digestive issues and organic canned pumpkin, some human grade fish oil, and chewing a challenging treat once a day keeps him comfortable. We love Kona !
All we have ever had have been German Shepherd's. We love them! They tend to have dry skin. Our vets. have told us to give them oil to help with that. We made our own dog food w/ground venison (cooked like hamburger, because if it is cooked they do not get those terrible "gas toots", as with raw meats, ), brown rice boiled, kidney beans or pinto beans cooked/ mashed, mixed that together. On top of this we added- 2 eggs fried bacon grease), and the remainder poured on food. Dry food we only gave a couple of times per week. Just an FYI our dog was allergic to chicken and had the opposite problem as Kona called Pancreatic enzyme insufficiency Since Kona doesn't have PEI, I would eliminate the rice and try some other filler which has more fiber like quinoa or peas, or mashed, potatoes, carrots or all of them, even apples. Our love to Kona!
Hi! Pumpkin puree mixed in her food. As well as dog probiotics. You can also get pumpkin powder for her it's easier to store long term you only need about a tablespoon at each feeding. It has helped my 2 Goldendoodles immensely. Hope this helps. Your vlogs are so comforting, encouraging and inspirational not to mention just wholesome and entertaining. Love from Ontario, Canada! God bless!
I really wish I had your energy. I love seeing your pup.i see she likes to rest a lot more since it's summer. My husky don't want to leave the fan . I'm 52 but still young at heart with a tired body. Will say a prayer for your family tonight. Thanks for the videos your awesome at making them 😊
I add a little leftover bacon grease to Saffy’s food. And I am delighted to learn about pumpkin for constipation. It was such a joy when I looked up and saw your post!
Giselle you have such a sweet nature and kindness that alot of young adults your age do not have. I have 3 daughters that are around your age and they are good girls but I wish they was as responsible as you are. God bless 💜
Hello young lady, everyone needs to sleep in from time to time, when I was working my days off I slept in, it sure can feel good a little extra rest, now I get up when I want to unless I have something going on!!!!
Cooked pumpkin is good for intestinal issues. Fiber and vitamins. Pets and humans. We canned 19 qts of green beans today. Hubby is zonked out and I'm not too far from going to bed, too. Ellie's a sweet puppy and Kona's got a playmate with lots of love from her human mama. We had a short break from the heavy smoke but it's still around. We're told that there is another wave of heat coming in a day or two, but not to the intensity it has been. Glad the fryer was set up and working. I was glad to see that you do not have to lift the baskets out of the hot oil. Enjoy using it. Thank your grandma for explaining why at the age of 45, a woman's work changes. I hope the rest of your week is pleasant. The Sunday dessert looked awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a doll is Ellie?! Just gorgeous - we've just lost our 14-yrs Border Collie, so hard to say Goodbye... I'd be adding something nice to Kona's kibble, pumpkin or squash is good (cooked) a little olive oil or tuna (in springwater) - the heat won't be helping - I liked to add warm water to their kibble to make a gravy. Have a lovely week - course, in the olden days, there weren't the labor-saving devices you have nowadays - even my Mom used to hand-wash our clothes & our family was twice the size of yours! Us kids used to lift the bales and pick stones from the fields... Have a lovely safe week - hoping for rain to kill the fires...
I love that your mom takes a turn helping out in the kindergarten.I work with infants and toddlers and love it.(And am probably older than your mom but I love it!Keeps me young.) Thank you for the extra vlog. You are such a sweet ,young lady.🇨🇦🍁♥️
I absolutely love your channel and your way of life Giselle! In this crazy, uncertain world we are living in, I wished I lived in a community based life such as yours🥰 You all have the right idea!!!👍
So glad I found your channel. I love watching your life and hearing about your community. I had to stop working at my 50 hour a week job at 55 due to poor health, no pension until 67 though, I have a home and eat well, so I am ok, in fact very fortunate. I do think you work hard physically still. I love hearing you read from the Bible and your devotions. I would love to know if it is your community singing at the end of your videos, it is so beautiful.
thank you Giselle..even though you sometimes speedup your vlog and drink a lot of coffee,,,,I always end up smiling and peaceful in the end....I love your sharing of the word and the soothing singing of your congregation..Praying for you and Kona and Ellie today...
Firstly thank you for look into your weekend. I was so surprised and happy to get a notification of a video today. I find your videos so inspiring and I was having a hard time being motivated. 2nd in regard to Kona. What we do with our dog is to make sure he gets some fruit and veggies. We feed him apples and carrots. Both have lots of fibre which helps. I try to keep him away from any dairy as it's not good for dogs (although he loves it....lol) 3rd it has been so nice to learn a bit more of the history of your colony. Thank your grandmother for sharing her info. Also if you are able to share can you expend on how your colony got started. I was very surprised when you said it was only 30 years old in the last video. I love to learn the history of people and places. Again, thank you for sharing your life with us. I look forward to Saturday's each week as I know there will be a video from you 🤗
I feel like you did this for me lol I know you didn't but I commented last video about losing my sweet boy Ollie, and seeing Kona always makes me so happy. Now seeing this sweet new pup. My goodness just so adorable. Life must go on and we must learn to live through the pain. Thank you for showing us your life.
Dear Giselle, thank you so much for sharing your lovely way of life with us. What is the name of the song at the end? It had me in tears- I so needed to hear it.
I am rewatching some of the old videos (I find them so motivating lol) I love that you share about your church service, and how these verses spoke to you.
I see you feed Kona on dry kibbles. With that kind of diet, they need LOTS of water. I think it's the best all-'round diet for your dog but lots of water is essential to avoid constipation. I like Ellie, she seems so sweet, but then all puppies are, aren't they! Thank you for another lovely video Giselle. God bless.
It has been Smokey here to. I worked at a vet for a while and we gave constipated dogs pumpkin purée and yogurt for the probiotics plus make sure they have plenty of water.
Hi Giselle. Ellie is beautiful!! Our grandpuppy also is an Australian sheep dog. They definitely are high energy, but bring so much joy into our lives!!
What a wonderful surprise to see you Giselle I loved this vlog your granny is wise you can learn a lot from her .i think boiled chicken breast broke up small wit white rice will help Kona a lot
I am 47 and the thought of leaving the garden and kitchen would make me sad. Although this year I can tell my hands are getting stiff and I can't work as hard as I use too. Thank goodness I have 8 wonderful children who don't mind lending a hand.
I used to give my 2 labs an ice cube size of pumpkin every week. I would freeze it in ice cube trays and keep in a zip lock bag.Keeps their insides calm and regular.
How nice to see you on a Monday 👍🏼!! Ellie is just the cutest and looks so soft! I brought a puppy home almost two years ago and my first dog just kept giving that look, “What have you done?” They are best friends now. Kona will be ok. I think you are the most productive person I know of! You should bottle that productivity and sell it!!! Have a good week 🐾🐾💛
My mini schnauzer used to get constipated. Organic pumpkin worked best. Once a week both were given a 1/4 cup of canned organic pumpkin. They loved it! In the summer I would freeze it in ice cube tray for a cold treat.
Giselle loved your weekend vlog. I love watching about your life. Love hearing your sweet grandma story as well. U never disappoint us followers. Till next weekend God bless you and your family 💜🙏✝️🦋
Hi, Love watching your videos and especially like the way that you handle the camera. Ellie is sooo cute, and Kona is adorable! We loved our German Shepherd! There is something special about them, that's for sure! Ours passed a few years ago of the dreaded Johnny Dancer (she had a brain tumor). These days we have a Shitzu X Maltese with attitude and a Jack Russell X ? rescue dog who's favorite past time is chasing lizards. Anyway, long story short, nowadays we always cook our dog food out of various minces and chopped meats. We also add chopped broccoli, cauliflower, beans, celery and a light sprinkle of herbs such as rosemary, oregano, ginger, and basil all of which dogs can tolerate. We make large batches which last about a week, and have found it almost as cheap to do this as buy dog food. We also add roast pumpkin into the mix. This is the secret ingredient as we have found this to be a very good laxative. At meal times we also add in a bit of dry kibble, and top it off with a sprinkle of lactose free cheese. Our dogs LOVE it! Do the research before adding anything. You probably know salt is a poison for dogs, as is onion, garlic, and some other herbs. Keep up the good work! Pete and Andrea, from Darwin, Australia
Serve her food mixed with pumpkin puree and maybe some beef broth for added yummyness. You could also sprinkle just a little All Bran cereal. That's what my vet prescribed when our little chihuahua mix had major issues, and all has been well since.
I figured your mom was working along side of you, but thank you for clearing that up. Your videos are so relaxing to watch, thank you for sharing your day😊
I love German shepherds. I have a couple also. For constipation, of course plenty of water helps but you can also use things like canned pumpkin, bran cereal, mix canned dog food in with your dry dog food..this helps to increase moisture. Also make sure that your sweet dog is getting plenty of exercise.
Giselle, what do you feed Kona? You can try blending a couple veggies in her food if you feed her raw or cooked food! Not too much. Our vet also recommended this kelp probiotic powder that you can sprinkle on too their food.
Your farm contains all the resources for a healthy raw diet for your dog if you wish to explore that option. My dog has thrived on raw for the past 10 years after doing poorly on kibble for the first year I had him. There are lots of good resources here on YT to learn the ins and outs of feeding raw. Primal Pack is a good channel by a vet tech who explains her process in detail. Good luck with Kona, she's beautiful and sweet and well-loved!
I use store bought pure canned pumpkin for my dog who has bowel issues lol. Make sure it's pure pumpkin though with nothing else in it. Sweet potatoes can also work in a pinch but pumpkin works a little better for most dogs. A rounded teaspoon is all I give her and she's about the size of your dog. The reason I use the store bought is because it has less water in it. If you have home canned pumpkin if it's watery give her a little more than a rounded teaspoon. Don't give her to much at one time because it can cause her diarrhea but I give it to my dog twice a day with her meal(my dog eats twice a day. It can also be given for diarrhea as well. Most dogs love it.
Would love to know more about your blouse and dress pattern cutting. Really lovely clothes. Not so different than the my old Jr & HS uniforms. Ours were shorter though, just below the knee. I miss the practicality.
Glad you decided to do a weekend vlog. Cute little dog! The music is gorgeous! Is it from your church services? Do you have CDs of your music? That is an awesome fryer in your community kitchen. What happens in your community if you wake up sick or not feeling well? Are you excused from work that day? Are you given a certain number of sick days?
My suggestion regarding Kona is to give her some bran or oatmeal with warm water in her kibble. I used to give my Rottie a fish oil gel tab each morning for his coat & GI tract. May I ask if you have ever interviewed the men or perhaps your brother about life as a Hutterite? All the best young lady.
I'm 52 and in Saturdays video and I wondered about the 45 yo mark. Thanks for the update, Blessings!! I give my Symon a little taste of my coffee! I am talking 4Tablespoons and mine has creamer and aspartame in it. And if anyone has a hateful comment, don't I simply do not care, I have done this for 20 years! Please tell what the over 45 group do now with their days! We call your evening meal "brinner" breakfast for dinner. Also dinner is our late meal and midday is lunch. Love you precious!! Marilyn from Tennessee
I wish you could show us a church service. I'll admit, I've not watched many of your videos yet (maybe 6 or 8)...but would love to see it. Do all the ladies wear the black jacket? Is there a special reason for that, or to keep warm? What age does that start? Is there a nursery for the littles during the church service? And it does seem like cleaning is what you do a lot of - and I mean a lot of! More than anyone I've ever heard of or seen. I'm glad you mentioned your mom - as I had wondered the same. I am almost 60 and would actually prefer the canning and stuff to watching the little kids. :) I haven't seen a video where you do talk about your family. Do you just have the one brother? (I'll keep listening and maybe I'll find out before you have time to see this or answer.) Thanks for all the sharing! Appreciate it. Appreciate your little bro. that we sometimes see on camera. Tell him thanks! I have 5 kids, BTW - watching from Poland.
As several others have said, cooked and mashed pumpkin is good for both constipation and diarrhea in dogs. Also, in southern Alberta where I live, blue-green algae in rivers and lakes can be lethal to dogs who swim in them, just a thought I had when I saw Kona swimming. Love to you and Kona, I really enjoy your vlog.
My cat, Cowboy, had a constipation issue and the vet prescribed Miralax. You sprinkle it on the food and it will get her moving again. For longterm gut health I feed Cowboy pumpkin and a cat probiotic. I also keep fresh Lemongrass growing year round for his snacking pleasure, not sure whether dogs like Lemongrass. He is very healthy.
She probably needs more wet (canned dog food) we have a German Shepard. We take 3 cups of dry add 1/3 to 1/2 cup of canned dog food. Add a little water and mix it all together. This is one meal and our dog only gets one meal a day in the evening. In the morning we feed him some turkey bologna or ham or some kind of lunch meat and a milk bone dog treat.
I used to put frozen vegetables (he loved green beans) in my German Shepard's dry food and mixed with water. He pooped like a trooper lol. They need fiber too, which they don't get from dry food.
Pumpkin works or yogurt with probiotics. Kona will love either one. My friend she opens a can of pumpkin and freezes it in ice cube trays. Then puts them in a bag and she will give her dog one and he loves it. It is a treat for him. He loves the yogurt also and so do her chickens.
Yes, add plain canned pumpkin in Kona’s food. Maybe around 1T mixed in with dry food. Worked for my husky/shepherd mix. Hope it helps. I see others have the same suggestion. I love your vlog. Keep it up!
Float her kibble that will ensure she gets tones of water and that should push things on a little 😊.. Floating her food is just basically adding water to her kibble if she has a cup say of kibble just add a quarter of a cup of water to it...and brocoli and carrots are good for there digestive system..also in the UK dogs can have something called buscopan just 1 and it helps with stomach issues. Hopefully everything will be ok soon.
👋 Hi, I have a potcake ( turks and caicos) who struggles very much with BM's. Pumpkin used to work with increased water. Eventually our vet told us to do 1 tsp of Lactulose and or Benefiber. Both you can find at any Canadian pharmacy though Walmart is cheapest. Blessings
Hi Giselle, My vet recommended adding some vegetables to a dog's diet. Try a little at first to make sure your dog can tolerate ok. Green beans, pumpkin and sweet potatoes are good ones. Also adding some water to your dogs dry food helps make a gravy that adds more water to their diet. Good luck!!
You might also try a spoonful of coconut oil everyday. You will note there is a difference between getting him cleaned out and keeping him regular. Oatmeal is a good source of fiber...maybe a cocktail of oatmeal wth coconut oil and sweet potato...in a nice soupy broth with a bone or handful of kibble
I have two German Shepherds and I make sure they have plenty of water to help prevent constipation. Plain pumpkin is good and so is plain probiotic yogurt, just a few tablespoons of either. Love, love, love your channel! You are adorable!
ahh thank you :)
Pumpkin and sweet potato work on my dogs.
I see others have brought up pumpkin…my Lab Gigi sometimes needs it. Plus cooked green beans.
We use pumpkin and yogurt as well. (Pumpkin, water, a sprinkle of kibble) Seems to work fine. Watermelon is another choice for some dogs.
Pumpkin is amazing for dogs and cats. I once worked in an animal shelter vet clinic and we ordered pumpkin by the case because we used it to help with diarrhea in cats etc. Awe, Ellie looks like a very sweet puppy! It official! You're a mom! One of the first signs of being a mother is being worried about other people's (or animal's) bathroom habits :-)
Kona is her dog -- the puppy is someone else's dog -- she is concerned for Kona :-)
@@emmib1388 Yes, I'm aware.
@EmilyBoller isn't that the truth 🤣

I am 47 and the thought of leaving the garden and kitchen would make me sad. Although this year I can tell my hands are getting stiff and I can't work as hard as I use too. Thank goodness I have 8 wonderful children who don't mind lending a hand.
I really love your videos. I like to see all you get accomplished. Always love the hymn singing.
I wish you many blessing. I love your volg.
Wonderful video sweet child of God. Love little Ellie she's chooooo chweet !! I Love watching your beautiful life as a Hutterite ! God bless you.
Oh did I ever need this one. The path to which we've been called....... THANK YOU!!
I used to give my 2 labs an ice cube size of pumpkin every week. I would freeze it in ice cube trays and keep in a zip lock bag.Keeps their insides calm and regular.
Beautiful closing singing! ❣️
I always enjoy seeing what your up to. The Hutterite life sounds wonderful to me!
Wow I admire how hard a worker you are! I desperately desire to build my routines to be a hard worker like you!
If you released some kind of compilation of your singing, I would buy it! It's so calming.
Hi,
Love watching your videos and especially like the way that you handle the camera.

TYFS!! Loved watching the dogs play together!! Thank you again for the sweet music! Have a great week Giselle🥰🥰🥰
Thanks for the video, may God bless you all, see you next week 🤗
I simply love your Music
Such a nice surprise! Ellie is very cute!❤️🇨🇦
The song at then end of your vlog really touched my heart.
Thank you for sharing and helping us stop and take stock of our own life.
🙃🙏🏻🤝👍thx
My suggestion regarding Kona is to give her some bran or oatmeal with warm water in her kibble. I used to give my Rottie a fish oil gel tab each morning for his coat & GI tract. May I ask if you have ever interviewed the men or perhaps your brother about life as a Hutterite? All the best young lady.
You have treated us to so much beautiful content😍😍Thank you sweetheart🙏Much love from Holland❤️❤️
"Nothing friendlier than a wet dog". I had to laugh when Kona came out of the water and made a bee line to you to shake. So funny.
Your sharing is so uplifting. Thank you and blessing to you.
What an adorable little puppy. I love your channel and the singing at the end is so beautiful, thank you for sharing this with us💞
I wish you could show us a church service.
Allie is so adorable, you young lady are beautiful, some young Hutterite man is going to be a happy husband.. Just take your time.🙏🙏🌹🌹
As several others have said, cooked and mashed pumpkin is good for both constipation and diarrhea in dogs.
I add water to my dogs dry food. Let it soak in and it is almost like wet food.
I used to put frozen vegetables (he loved green beans) in my German Shepard's dry food and mixed with water. He pooped like a trooper lol. They need fiber too, which they don't get from dry food.
I have given my dog pumpkin puree with a teaspoon of coconut oil. Both safe, and it works well. I hope you are well. Blessings.
I loved your weekend vlog!! Oh my goodness how adorable is Alie!!! Looks like Kona loves her❤❤❤❤
Pumpkin works or yogurt with probiotics. Kona will love either one. My friend she opens a can of pumpkin and freezes it in ice cube trays. Then puts them in a bag and she will give her dog one and he loves it. It is a treat for him. He loves the yogurt also and so do her chickens.
I was excitedly surprised when I saw the extra vlog today. Thank you!! And your photography and videography is artistically beautiful 🤩
As some others have said pumpkin, but we also give ours pumpkin seed and pumpkin oil every other week. flax works too in small amounts.
Pumpkin will help Kona become more regular! Thank u for ur videos I love them
Yes, add plain canned pumpkin in Kona’s food. Maybe around 1T mixed in with dry food. Worked for my husky/shepherd mix. Hope it helps. I see others have the same suggestion. I love your vlog. Keep it up!
Would this work for a Yorkshire Terrier?
Float her kibble that will ensure she gets tones of water and that should push things on a little 😊..
Floating her food is just basically adding water to her kibble if she has a cup say of kibble just add a quarter of a cup of water to it...and brocoli and carrots are good for there digestive system..also in the UK dogs can have something called buscopan just 1 and it helps with stomach issues. Hopefully everything will be ok soon.
👋 Hi,
I have a potcake ( turks and caicos) who struggles very much with BM's.
Pumpkin used to work with increased water. Eventually our vet told us to do 1 tsp of Lactulose and or Benefiber. Both you can find at any Canadian pharmacy though Walmart is cheapest.
Blessings
Yayyy you guys have an Aussie dog around lol. Another awesome vlog ♥️
Hi Giselle,
My vet recommended adding some vegetables to a dog's diet.
Lovely song. Thank you for sharing with us.
