I have noticed thrift store prices are definitely higher.. even fir stained ripped or moth eaten items ..and they dont reduce much when i inquired.. i do recall my uncle who was an employee of goodwill telling me that they pull the good stuff and sell on ebay.. so... but i still find pieces i like. My closet is probably 90% goodwill.. savers is definitely more pricey..
It's such a bummer about the Goodwill grabbing stuff for online. I live further south and certain locations still have good finds. For instance, I found a pinstripe Escada suit for $29 which honestly was expensive but still a good find. I also recently thrifted a beautiful turquoise St. John jacket for $7, could not find the matching pants but a good deal none the less. Looooved the St. John jacket you found and the Dior suit was cute and vibrant.
Designer prices at clothing rack way too expensive for a thrift store. I had a friend years ago that lived in a different area of Florida for awhile and visited the Palm Beach area. She said just about everything in that area was very, very expensive and pretty much only wealthy people can afford to live there, super high rents even for a 1 bedroom apt and sky high prices to buy a home, even a smaller home. She said you really have to have a high income to afford to live there, 6 figures and higher, with many upscale prices at boutiques and even many thrift stores she went to and a few items had a reasonable price but not the majority of clothes or jewelry items. I don't know which stores she visited but it was about 10 years ago. She finally got out of Florida and moved to Wisconsin.
So glad i stumbled upon this vlog... Heading to Palm Beach for the xmas and im currently making my list of vintage thrifts to scout out while there. Thanks for sharing❤
Have fun! I also have a more detailed blog post on all the shops I recommend: www.avintagesplendor.com/west-palm-beachs-vintage-and-second-hand-shopping-gems/
I have found at my GW Louis Vuitton clothing’s and accessories, also Bruno Cucinelli, and Dior. But to be honest I prefer to go treasure hunting to Estate sales. I live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Annette, I think the St. John’s vest and skirt would’ve been cool if you would have pulled it up around your chest area and made it into a strapless dress!
Are vintage Burburry trenches priced at 1000's? I have a Burberry trench I thrifted years ago. I kept it even though at the time it was a tad too big but now they are wearing them a little roomy so I guess I will keep it. The prices at thrift stores have become ridiculous. I try to find smaller thrift stores to find vintage. Their prices seem a little more reasonable. The Saver's near me is becoming way too expensive for a thrift store. The Goodwill near is also overpriced but I did manage to find a YSL sweater that is still on their site for 600 dollars. I paid 6.99. It is def. authentic. So yes, if you have the patience you can find some great deals.
That place is ridiculous in price and where I’m at in Florida no one hardly even goes in there anymore. They just renovated a whole parking lot building for no reason waste of money.
Omg I love those dishes
I’m just arrived in Palm Beach to visit a friend. The plan was to thrift so happy to have some other places to shop! Thanks Annette!
There is a spot down in Fort Lauderdale called “decades” same vibe as the first place you visited!

I LOVE your finds 😍 and LOL yes women still wear suits …especially those in the legal field but also suiting pieces are still in!

Obsessed with your purple striped top, everything looks good with it!

Goodwill's prices are outrageous!!!!!!
4:48 i agree. I've come across a lot of designer pieces while thrifting that i did not like.
Love ❤the sequin jacket

Even though is not my style I would like to know the prices.
Palm beard prices!!
What did you buy
American Thrift in WPB has different days of discounts.
yes i signed up for their text discounts but they didn't have anything happening when i went which was a sunday :(
I've gone there to flip hard goods. Did well with some pieces. World Thrift is another great place.
Great video.
For the sake of honesty, there are no thrift stores in Palm Beach.
U not weird I’ll buy that colorful jacket too.

Palm Beach prices
Brand names do not define who you are!!
I just found your video and I loved it. But please go slower with the camera so much to see
Gaudy is good
Too expensive , brands does not mean good taste .
But tons, hummmmm
Gaudy goodness.
I do not care for Palm beach style, rich folk, no taste.
Circa Who- a rip off store.
