- In honor of Loretta Lynn's new album (and what would have been her and Doo's 73rd anniversary on January 10th), here are ten Crisco commercials that practically serve as home movies for them and their family. These were taken from many sources, all recorded from over the air broadcasts in the early-to-mid-eighties, so video/audio quality varies.

Can't mistake that voice....I remember these commercials....she was one of a kind....RIP dear lady.
May she Rest In Peace. These commercials I swear back during the 80s had me wanting to move to Nashville and sing country music and eat plenty of Sunday dinners and fried chicken lol. Remember these Crisco commercials well as my aunt watched all of her soap operas during the week. Great memories.
Crisco hit it out of the park when they signed on Loretta Lynn as a spokesperson. She was perfect!

As an Australian I never hear these American accents usually. I found myself grinning like a fool all the way through this wonderful video. I don't know about anyone else but for me, hearing these folks talk sounds almost like music.
I loved the film The Coalminers Daughter and liked Sissy's version of the accent but there's for sure an authenticity that was lacking in the film that I didn't even notice until I watched these very pleasing advertisements.
Hell, I wanted to rush out and buy Crisco myself ! RIP Loretta.

That's so sweet. She lived about an hour down the road from our town. We definitely have a lot of people who talk like this still. Personally my country side comes out more when I'm mad or being fake nice lmao. But here's the thing...if the recipe calls for margarine, a true southern cook will use butter. Crisco is used for any oil need tho. Mainly deep frying and pie shells. Not cookies.
I’ll never forget the first time I saw Coal Miner’s Daughter. The movie was on television and it was the first time I’d seen people from a coal mining town, similar to mine and I had never heard people with an accent, as thick as mine, on TV. I still get embarrassed of my accent sometimes.

As being raised in the 70s, every time my mom threw that can of Crisco in the shopping cart I knew it was going to be the Sunday Fried Chicken coming up😄🤤
I was just a kid when these were on tv and remember them. I remember her saying “ Crisco will do you proud every time “ Loretta was a good woman, the world has lost so many good one’s during the last few years. ❤
Funny how a commercial from the 80s can make you want to go to the store n buy something ! My Mom always used both Crisco's. Missing her n her cooking so much today! Hugs to Loretta's family and fans!
A few of these commercials were filmed at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center where I worked at the time. They made the theater stage look like the cabin and the kitchen.
Crisco is used 3 generations so far in our family!

Loretta Lynn I just adore her. Coal Miners Daughter is my favorite movie of all time I wore the first VHS out and had to buy a new one because I watched it so much❤🎥
My uncle wrote this ad. He was an intern. He read her Bio in the Manhattan library and came up with the line "taste like Sunday afternoon"did to good of a job and got fired for it.

A sweeter time - sweeter commercials - great memories. Today’s commercials are not normal-they’re meant to overwhelm you psychologically. Ugh.
I forgot about these commercials. She had some beautiful children. I know her relationship with her husband was volatile at times, but she made it clear, for one punch he gave her, he got two. She also credited him with her career, that without him, there wouldn't have been one. I believe she said, he gave her alot of material for her songs. She had a good sense of humor. I doubt younger generations will understand why she did what she did. I feel for her family, even though they got to keep her for a long time. Is it ever long enough? She certainly was special and will be missed!

Still use Crisco, remember having my parents over for dinner, my dad complemented me I said, Me and Loretta Lynn. Sent away for a free Crisco cookbook when I first got married.

I got an interesting story. About a decade ago, maybe within couple years more than a decade, I was making biscuits from scratch, maybe my first time, at this house I used to live in. Well, I was working on the kitchen island, then turned to the counter dead across the island to tend to the toaster oven, maybe put biscuits in it. Well, then, I turned around......just for my calico princess ( late cat ) stuck her face in the Crisco tub. Fortunately, nothing came of it.
I told my bro the story, and, in a teasing voice, was like, What a catastrophe!
