Midori and Miyako, I think they can read each other's mind.
They are connected like Jaeger's pilots of Pacific Rim :D
This song was one they wrote after doing a few shows with Halestorm. They wanted a song that was not serious subject matter wise. They just wanted a song that can get the crowd going.
Asami says "Awesome" two times in this song and i think as a compliment to the audience. You named her a "stage general". But she leads the people with her charming personality and a gentle hand. Besides her abilities as a singer, that's what makes her a great frontwoman.
PS: I like your protesting pigs, they always make me smile. 😀
Pretty sure you will love their new MV called "Winds Of Transylvania", another killer riff and guitar solo.
I would hardly describe Miyako as a beginner on the guitar! In fact she and Midori have been playing about the same length of time. They just have two very different styles and different personalities.

Raise Some Hell is my top three of lovebites songs because just like you said, the song and their stage presence is fun and energetic.
And it’s lyrics start with Asami, the singer, showcasing each member, which is really fun to watch.

Bro! I was WAITING for you to do this performance and, yes, it is a performance! The perfect example of what you've been saying all along! I'm glad Miyako (guitarist, stage left), is loosening up on stage and putting aside all that classical piano stoiciness . And if Band Maids Misa can be called The Barefoot Assassin. then Haruna can be The Energizer Bunny! I don't think her feet ever stopped! Yeah ,these ladies just have IT.
Yay! Hi David, thank you for this video, i was sure you would like it, not because of the song itself, (easy), but first of all because of interaction member-member, and members-crowd, movements, switching positions etc...and i know you apreciate it. And i agree what you said about special effects: they are great, stunning and mesmerizing, but in my opinion they can also be distracting, leaving attention from member's talent, and how good (or bad) they are. Without all those special effects, watching a LOVEBITES performance, you automatically focus attention on everyone of them, how they play, sing, interact and so on. And these girls never disappoint.: "We are LOVEBITES, we are cute, we play Heavy Metal, doing our best, having and giving fun, and we don't care about lasers and smokes." That's the message you get watching their videos. Can't wait for another reactions :), i think its not needed anymore give you some suggestions: pick up a song, and go ahead! :D And btw thanks for mentioned me. That was emotional :D :D.
Lovebites never disappoint. David, don't forget Midori, Miho, Miyako and Asami are running around the stage, and Miyako using her wah-wah pedal, in four inch high heels. As regards to using the catwalk, in several songs - 'Shadowmaker', 'We the `United' and 'Signs of Deliverance' - Miyako and Midori come to the front of the catwalk to play their individual and harmonized solos. Midori (blond guitarist) has a really wide range of facial expressions - I love her snarl in this video and sometimes she sticks her tongue out.
I have checked out some fancan footage of Lovebites' tour with Dradonforce and I noticed that in smaller venues Miyako (guitarist with black hair) interacts with the crowd much more than in the larger venues where the professional videos were shot.

Miyako has a good voice as you can hear in 'Empty Daydream'. I must admit I get fed up with reactors who complain about her nor smiling enough and being too reserved on stage, I think she looks really cool. From what I have seen Miyako is the most relaxed, animated, and funny, when she is talking about her guitars and gear or talking to Wampa her dog. Great reaction and Lovebites puts a lot of energy into their performances. A lot of the all-female Japanese bands are like this, moving around, interacting with the audience, having fun on stage. Look at Band-Maid, Gacharic Spin for prime examples.
It's 100% English, they don't sing in Japanese, her accent becomes very easy after being a fan for a awhile but can be hard to get use to for those just diving into their catalog. Glory Glory to LOVEBITES and all the members of The Wolf Pack everywhere, we are one under their command and shall rule the ruins in their honor!!! Best metal band to emerge in 30 years.
it definitely hard to understand her accent at first, but i feel like after reading the lyrics i can hear it as clear as day~ then you just get used to it-
Her pronunciation has improved a lot when you listen to the "Glory to the world". so they're not staying still, any of them.
Japanese is a language that pronounces vowels clearly and uses almost no throat or tongue, so it is a completely different language from English, including grammar. I hope that Japanese singing in English is a gift for native English speakers.
@@new-style-speaker-DIY it is, it why I instantly bough their first album within weeks of learning about them in 2017, and everything since. I do like Bandmaid and Babymetal but have never bought any of their albums,. It is a gift and I know how hard it is for English to learn Japanese and the reverse as well. Singing in all English is just another reason LOVEBITES are the Metal Godz.

FYI: 'Daughters of the Dawn' is their July 2019 Blue ray release and 'Five of a Kind' is their July 2020 Blue ray. I believe both concerts were Jan/Feb of the year they were released. They also released 'Awake Again' a live in studio Blue ray in December 2020.
Best review for Lovebites... They deserved someone with your knowledge doing this.

Aside of the first EP , Daughters of the Dawn, and the new mini album Glory glory to the world I have the rest of there cds. I love this band.

I'm 55. Bass in hard rock/metal bands up until about six years ago. Huge Priest fan, Queensryche, RacerX, etc...I get emotional everytime I watch these ladies. Absolutely love them. They do EVERYTHING right!

As musicians...we're always "still learning our instruments". From what I've read in the comments, she's only been playing for a few years. So she still has room to learn and room to grow, just like all of us do.

yes all in english , they NEVER sing in Japanese, you can get subtiles , and when when you read along its then obvious, Fun lyrics too. I guess its the way she phrases and put emphasis diffrerently on vowels that throws us, amazing prformance. One of my faves by them.
Come on dude! They're singing in English! This song is really fun. If i remember correctly Miyako (guitarist with les paul) wrote it as a party song and it works great for this. It has very catchy melody, simple and also very catchy lyrics that you can easily sing along to and has tons of positive energy that makes you feel alive! :)
But you will never fully experience Lovebites until you watch Swan Song from the same show. It's a real masterpiece by our bellowed Miyako. But make sure it's version with piano intro (revolutionary etude by Chopin) and run time of just over 8 min. If you asking "why?" it will make perfect sense as soon as you watch it. To be fair Asamis accent is pretty thick on this one so I won't add to the "all songs are in english crowd" as I had to listen to this song like 5 times to understand her lol. Still getting used to it but after awhile you start to understand her more.
I agree. But, poor sweet lovely girl: she's japanese, trying her best singing in a language very difficult for japaneses :D. Let's give her more time to learn it better. See for example Babymetal, (especially Su- Metal): at the beginning they didnt tell a word in english, now they can stand interviews pretty good.
It's not about an "all songs are in english crowd", the point just is that he obviouly has been told that in each of his LOVEBITES reactions and he still doesn't seem to have gotten the message ... it's just funny, nothing of importance though. In the matter I agree with you, it needs some time to get used to her accent, so I'm always a fan of subtitles, which Lovebites meanwhile thankfully do provide on some of their official MVs.
Yes, Midori doesn't get enough credit for the bandmember that is usually on point. Miyako obvious likes to concentrate on her playing. I do like the point vs. counterpoint dynamic that the two have. An analog in the comedy business would be funny man / straight man. Or we could contrast Midori's pony tail all over the place vs. Miyako' not wanting to mess any of that fashion model hair of hers, until the last few songs of the set.
I think Miyako gets alot of attention is because
1. Plays the piano
2. Very different from the typical HM scene or counterparts the HM scene as you said
3. Talented and plays a lot of the emotional parts in the solos
4. Having a TH-cam channel!?

True, i noticed it as well. Because David knows about music, concerts and stages. His analyis are always detailed, touching many points that even a fan like me did not notice.

This band is incredible, every single musician is world class! And Asami is an amazing frontwoman, always hyping up the crowd and delivering stunning vocals!
I suggest you take a look at "Swan Song" with the piano piece serving as an intro! Beautiful song i think you will enjoy it! it's from the same show as this one.

Really, the song if about music is simple. But performance it is show off of Lovebites. In this heaviest Rock n Roll ever Ladies introduce in the way very electryfyind themselves. This solo and riffs will go into the metal canon. Great.

This is one of my favourite Lovebites songs. Motorhead vibe is strong, and that's a very good thing. I wish Lemmy was alive to see this, 'cos he'd love it. Also, this one's a 10.

One day I hope there will be an article from Metal Hammer about top heavy metal riffs, and then Lovebites will be included. This song along with Holy War, M.D.O, Break The Wall are a great example.

I know many people more like Blondie guitar ( midori ) because she's so attractive.

Nos - úgy tudom nem teljesen így van, hiszen a keleti part, a nyugati part, a déli régió (most Texas ne is legyen említve :D) más-más "nyelvjárást" és kiejtést használ. Tudtommal. Nice reaction as always and it's ok to get emotional over great music and performances! I'm going to drop a couple requests from the same band Apocalyptica. If you're not familiar with them they started out as 4 guys on cello covering Metallica songs. They added a drummer and the core lineup consists of 3 cellist. The first song I would like for you to take a look at is a live performance of their cover of One. I picked this one mainly for the familiarity of the song. Second a live performance of the Sepultura song Inquisition Symphony. I picked this one mainly for their stage presence and performance 🤘😊🤘

The thing with LOVEBITES is they move with purpose, not just to move. Just as in the songs themselves, there's nothing superfluous.
Midori gets all the attention she deserves, i dont think you know how much she is loved in the community, Miyako gets more attention in the comments because she is so introverted and cute, more people can relate to her while on the other side of the stage, Midori is scary :D :D

I haven't followed you for long but I enjoy your reactions, your enthusiasm and your knowledge. But a question, what is a 10.0 song? Do you have an example of the perfect song? And if that doesn't exist, a 9.9?
10's are reserved for posthumously reactions, or reactions to an outstanding cause. So basically the only way to get a 10 would be to be recently deceased, or doing a song for a charity or something like that. 9.9 IS possible.....but it's got to REEEEEEEEEALLY blow my mind and be BEYOND amazing. Off the top of my head, none of my favorite artists come close....so I can't really give a point of reference. There's been a few 9.3's - 9.5's....they've gotten close.
Hearing those pinches in this one... Still wish they played extended range guitars and bass though...

Awesome reaction David, as always, and it was a real pleasure to see you FEELING this masterpiece and performance. Actually, I am pretty disappointed by the rate... So many "fantastic", "awesome", "interaction on stage", "THAT is a show", "lots of motion on stage", "energy", "best performance I've seen", and you got emotional although the song is not sad, you've been really touched because it was pure perfection... So for all of that I was expecting at least 9.5, and actually we still don't know at the end of your video why 9.2 only, which is a good rate of course but you gave them 9.3 for Holy War and you did not reacted so intensively ^^ Oh, and Asami always sings in English, so you can check the lyrics, not serious at all this time because it is a song composed to express how much they enjoy the stage :-) Don't get me wrong it is not a reproach ok :-) I'm just trying to understand your rating in general ;-) Take care and keep up the good work, cheers from France !!
All I can say is.....I'm human, and as such I am not without flaws. Scoring anything can be a slippery slope, I remember from my days judging tournaments. All I can do is base a score of what I see and hear in comparison to what I remember from others....which is tough after a few months.

I hope you have not peaked too soon? This a relatively easy song for the Lovebites lady's to perform and they can cut fast and loose playing it. I think this is the most I have seen them run about and interact with each other and the crowd. There are other songs where they move about but not to this extent. I may of mentioned before, the technicality of their playing, the synchronisation with the backing and each other, it is amazing they can move at all!
Remember when u were saying they don`t move on the stage too much ? Well yeah, that was Midori running on high heels and switching to power stance, while still keeping her riffs and not missing a note.
All songs by Lovebites are in English but Asami has this unique accent that makes it a bit tricky to understand at first.
Miyako speculated that "Raise Some Hell" was inspired by hanging around hard rock band Halestorm. Because Lovebites lyrics are typically serious, Asami said that for "Raise Some Hell" she wanted to make a silly song for their audiences. She also described the music as closer to hard rock.
