The Statue of Liberty in Las Vegas was built in 1997 and it is located outside the New York - New York Hotel and Casino.
The Vegas 'Liberty' is about two-fifths the height of the original Statue of Liberty (150 feet [45.5 meters] versus 350 feet [107 meters]), weighs far less (150 tons versus 27,000 tons) and is way younger (about 23 years compared with 135).
The Statue of Liberty is also made of less solid or hard stuff, it is made out mostly carved Styrofoam coated with reinforced fiberglass and exterior drywall, rather than the iron supports and beaten copper of the original in New York City.
New York-New York Hotel & Casino is a hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, United States, designed to evoke New York City in its architecture and other aspects. It is owned and operated by MGM Resorts International. New York-New York Hotel & Casino is located at 3790 Las Vegas Boulevard South, in Paradise, Nevada.

Nice video. The only memorable part of staying at that hotel is a horrible night of sleep! Ha! Guess our room was placed too close to the roller coaster. Not only was it loud, but it shook the room. Never booked a room there again. I LOVE Las Vegas... I’ve been probably about 35-40 times, and have stayed at most of the hotels on the strip, since the late 80’s. Always look forward to going back, win or lose. Ha!

Hi Vic! Are you still in Fiji? And will you be coming back to Oz as per your original plans? I'd still love to have that cuppa with you when you finally get to travel the Northern Qld coast. It's so beautiful and very unlike any other parts of the country!
Qld borders are now open to the other States, except for Victoria which is experiencing a massive outbreak of CoVid-19 after the idiotic Premier allowed the BLM demonstrations, and allegedly also some immigrants who didn't isolate. After the whole country had done such a great job of stopping the spread, I now have great fears for the second wave that's here, and worse is certain to come. Heartbreaking, really.. My husband and I (and everyone else I know) did the right thing and stayed locked down throughout and we were only just beginning to venture out again before we'll have to lock down again - but the selfish ones who refused to isolate and only thought about themselves have risked the lives of EVERYONE. So now, here we go again.
How is everything going with you, then? I sincerely hope that you're well and happy, and that we will get to have that cuppa sooner rather than later.
