We are here deprived of the joy and despair of the human voice guiding us through the trials and tribulations of the restorative process; is such a thing too much to ask for?
One thing nice about restoring a Mercedes is if you have deep pockets you can get EVERYTHING you need directly from them. Need Brake drums for your Gull wing? $5K each and they are yours. You can actually build a 1885 Motor wagon with all factory mercedes parts. So no hunting for years for a factory dome light and bulb holder. Just remember the deep pocket parts.
I love German. 2004 I bought a SL55 AMG, made in Stuttgart ,delivered to NJ dock.. Black, tan leather and I fell in love! Always garaged cleaned, maintained by myself. Retired Engineer. I'm of Italian decent but I love/honor the Mercedes heritage. I've had fiats, BMW's, American cars but nothing more important to me than the AMG. They will auction it off when I die.
I would love to watch a long video about this restoration but, for me and perhaps many, it would have to be more than just photos and loud music; it would be someone talking through the history of the vehicle; what condition parts were in; what spares were sourced; techniques used in restoration etc. Now, that may well be not what the channel creator want to, or can do, and that’s just fine; their choice. However, I do believe that their choices do result in the low viewing figures mentioned in the original comment. Because of my interest, I will try and watch another video from the creator; if it’s the same photo and music mix, then they’ve lost me.
The quality of manufacture and materials of the cars of this time was such that they can still be restored today, unlike current plastic vehicles, good for scrapping after ten years, junk in the image of the modern world. .
👍👌👏 Simply fantastic! Great car, great restoration. But unfortunately there is this way too loud, not fitting and therefore annoying "music"! Why? Nevertheless: Thanks a lot for making explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards, luck and health.
It may be the original colour, but I’m not sure the black shows it off to best advantage. I’d need to do some photoshop colour change to decide the best! But what a super machine! 👍👏👏👏 How long did it take & how much did it cost? How easy was it to get parts & how much had to be remade? But super, super lovely! 😊
Social media are an ideal platform for people with a pronounced need for admiration and judging from the comments there are always enough claqueurs to fulfil their desires...
Is that an 'American Military Licence Plate', I see at 0:11 in? I don't know what was the correct term for the plates. In the 60's we had Red with White numerals!
Much earlier in the 30s, Mercedes had independent coil suspension. Just think about that, Rolls Royce still had cart springs on the rear into the 60s!!
What was the original color? I assume it was black? Are the period pictures you’re showing at the beginning from a different car? Please explain. I like the front suspension, btw.
Did you just ripoff Fantasy Junction's video for the restoration of 121170, add your own music and then a picture of a completely different car (122450) on the thumbnail?
... Restauration unfortunately comes in "concours-standard"- without life and patina. Why didn´t they keep original seat-covers and door covers despite obviously good condition ... :(
No doubt this is a major restoration. No doubt it has been done with care. I have one issue. Why do people put thier own personal taste on what was created by the factory. That is for Rodding types. I still love the car and I know the effort put in, as I restore cars myslef. I know the colours on the original car are not to all tastes, but that is the history of the vehicle. Please do not shoot me down for sharing my opinion, but a car of this heritage needs authenticity to show its true character as delivered to its original owner. Example as follows. Red 100% looks better, but White shows the true Heritage. th-cam.com/video/9fDzNIBYkwU/w-d-xo.html
Quite boring vedio. The viewers do not know as in what condition the car was found and what did you do while restoring it. No commentary with annoying music made the video an awful one....sorry.
красота ! шикарное авто !

What a beautiful car lets hear her roar ?

I have deep pockets, unfortunate there's nothing but keys in them.

Rich R Hope you can enjoy your SL 55 for many years to come achter 2004 when you bought it. I have saved a 1980 W126 and still enjoy it.
@monticella Rich R , see my comment on your SL 55 AMG in the video of restoring a 1936 MB.
Quite obviously one of the most beautiful restorations on one of the most beautiful cars ever made!!!
Ребята, Вы как Боги для этих мишин, вторую жизнь им даёте.
Красавцы✌️
You have hand built a very beautiful 1936 Mercedes-Benz.
That front suspension looks very modern, nice.
Can't believe this video and channel doesnt have more likes. This is world class restoration Quality. Congrats to You guys.
Dear Mauricio R.
Maybe because of the annoying, way too loud and not fitting music in this video?
Best regards, luck and health.

There's no voice-over mate, and no test drive. That's an easy one.
Turn off the sound and just watch. Much better. Sound is unnecessary. When things are self evident then leave it at that.
Would have more likes if not for the shittty "music"!
Excellent work on this jaw dropping restoration, next stop Pebble Beach! 🤩
...121170 already was at Pebble Beach, 2013, took 3rd..
Dieses Auto ist Traumhaft schön 😊🎉😊
يا ريت أحصل على وحده مثلها
Excellent job! thanks for your patience!
Perfect.
Stunning restoration to a stunning car.
During this era, Mercedes produced some really wonderful cars.
Thank you for posting the video.
I kept waiting for the shuffle dance chicks to pop out…🤣
nice restoration though!👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Everything perfect…with exception of the pneumatics…the spares at the back look so much better!
Beatiful restauration, but all sign off time has gone. It is only one time origional
Очень позновательный обзор!!! Ходовые механизмы представляют особый интерес!!!! В часности подвеска колес!
Off the hook cool !!! Call me if you need a caregiver !!!! Great job !!!
Maybe showing more restoration and less pictures of the car when it’s finished..otherwise a nice job
My dad had one of these back in 1945.
The only thing missing….. is a drive by with sound ….
Thanks, but the sound of the engine is forgotten.🙂
Tolles Armaturenbrett. Besser als jedes elektronische mäusekino!!😁😁
Modéle a servi d' inspiration a l'excalibur et les clénets version US . magnifique restauration .
Great job. Congrats.
Seu trabalho ficou maravilhoso. Parabéns.
Rewelacyjna restauracja, szacunek i podziw za ciężką pracę ukoronowaną końcowym rezultatem!
Gorgeous
Divinoooo, una restauración excelente! Indudablemente hay gente que sabe realmente de restauración!
The quality of manufacture and materials of the cars of this time was such that they can still be restored today, unlike current plastic vehicles, good for scrapping after ten years, junk in the image of the modern world. .
Increíble reparación y maravilloso auto. Sólo falto música alemana de fondo.
Wish I could take it for a spin. Beautiful car.
Albert Speer drove such a car
Recently read his autobiography
Mass extermination of all patina .
We now have an as new, ( or considerably better) classic Mercedes.
Glad it was rescued, well done!
Restaurare de nota 10 cu felicitări 😏!
beautiful car. would have been nice to see an actual video of the restoration
An old nice clasic car... Good job...
That is a very pretty car.
To me, this was and is the ultimate sports car styling, post war, the MG TD was last of the true style.
Absolutely beautiful car. Awesome job 👍
Not many likes because the video only shows the finished product. I for one would like to see more pictures of how we got there, not just being there.
Stunningly restored
Μπράβο !!!
Fantastic work 👍 Awesome
I love the suspension on this vehicle.
Really nice car, never seen this model before.
Interesting video - highly irritating music though....
Very beautifull restauration, but the wheels seem to wide from the original perspektive.
Nice restoration. I did a 1969 RR Silver Shadow Drop Head Coupe .... i wish it turned out as well as yours !
Fantastic
A masterpiece, well done.
Yes, great work. Huge work and passion. Original vin numbers and so... May i see on the car some Ribe bolt and nuts?
0:54 Why are 2 of the 6 piston rods reinforced? I shall not sleep till I find out. Germans generally don't do things unless there is a reason.
Beautiful restoration. I wonder how much it cost to buy this car "in the dusty garage" and how much it cost to restore it.
Same questions.🤔
More money than god.
Superb! I did like the original color scheme, though.
What a beautiful car!
انتاج هذه السياره من جديد ، مع تلاعب ببعض الجزئيات يجعلها ندا قويا لسيارة مورجان و فيسمان .
👍👌👏 Simply fantastic! Great car, great restoration. But unfortunately there is this way too loud, not fitting and therefore annoying "music"! Why? Nevertheless: Thanks a lot for making explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards, luck and health.
Should have played some Wagner. Ride of the Valkyries. The best German composer of all time.
British racing Green would suit it very well!

Nah, Burgundy over Black❤❤
Nice! Don't know about the red interior though.
Social media are an ideal platform for people with a pronounced need for admiration and judging from the comments there are always enough claqueurs to fulfil their desires...
leather not as good as original, we're not craftsmen
The only thing I would point out for the sake of originality is that it ought to have Continental or Michelin tyres.
one important thing why you did not start the engine? it s missing to hear her sound
I’d like of this vehicle being driven …
Wonderful car, but sadly restored to death. No traces of any previous life in it. Like so many other prewar cars.
Yes it's called over-restored.
Excellent work, where was the car done. Thank you...
This music is not suitable for this car.
Beauty
Vai,maladesy!
beautiful car😯Cars today don't look good💩Greetings to you
Is that an 'American Military Licence Plate', I see at 0:11 in? I don't know what was the correct term for the plates. In the 60's we had Red with White numerals!
A better than new restauration, but how did you do it, and how many people involved and mpney time etc……unknow
Well…
I agree with the ANNOYING Music theme 👇
Anyway …
Is that a original Maybach Engine in there ..? 🧐
Greetings from Germany everybody 👋
Stay safe 👍
I don't like these show and shine restorations. Cars with such a history deserve some patina.
Are the leather straps over the upper control arms limiting straps ?
Canvas, not leather.
Wooow
Мечта!
How did you manage to get the spares?
Did this car originally have independent rear suspension? I didn’t know Mercedes had independent front suspension set up this early
The two tone was much smarter and perhaps more in period.
Were the engines made under license from Maybach? 0.53
Did you just ripoff Fantasy Junction's video for the restoration of 121170, add your own music and then a picture of a completely different car (122450) on the thumbnail?
is there any of the original car left?
It looks like It has a storage compartment under the hood, is that correct?
... Restauration unfortunately comes in "concours-standard"- without life and patina. Why didn´t they keep original seat-covers and door covers despite obviously good condition ... :(
They were 90 years old crusty?
Please get rid of the music
Not keen on the black - but in 1936 that was probably de rigeur. Must have cost a lot of noughts.
no final picture of the finished car? what?
No doubt this is a major restoration. No doubt it has been done with care. I have one issue. Why do people put thier own personal taste on what was created by the factory. That is for Rodding types. реставрация на высоком уровне! но впечатление от просмотра испортила музыка.
ナチが乗っていたみたい
Quite boring vedio. The viewers do not know as in what condition the car was found and what did you do while restoring it. No commentary with annoying music made the video an awful one....sorry.
👍🇸🇰🥃
Umm… video, or slide show smh
Very annoying side show with idiotic schmaltzy muzak. How irritating.
Kak music
