Professor Mouw was my philosophy professor at Calvin years ago. He was one of my favorite teachers! This reminds me why.

Big fan of Russell Moore here. Lots of feelings about this interview… is it wrong to want/pray/hope that hell will be empty?…that God will somehow have everyone come to Jesus?

I'm very often touched by the short verse "Jesus wept" and I've wondered why. He was about to raise Lazarus. I wonder if He was weeping for mankind's dealing with death, the losing relationships - that valley of the shadow of death that we all walk in our whole life.

No mention of the elephant in the room (not political) Why? What do we wrestle with? They are much more powerful than we are and predicted to escalate! I have felt that “unseen realm” escalate since 2016 in both anger and deed! Need the Holy Spirit in mega dose! But take the reason the Jews were chosen to fruition, to the reason “WHY” they were chosen! They were chosen to SAVE YOU AND ME! But like you and me……they blew it!

So enjoyed your talk with Mr Mouw. Such a thoughtful and wise man. I am a fan of Max Lucado and he said that he heard that Jeffery Dahmer accepted Christ before his death and in his humans Mr Lucado was not particularly happy about this. That hw wanted JefferyDahmer to suffer eternally for the evil he had done. Mr Lucado new he was wrong for feeling this way and struggled with it. I think we all want bad people to be punished
It is just human to feel this way.

For believers at death the body of sin dies. And the new nature that is baptised spiritually into Christ is the one that enters heaven. Its our identity with the life of Christ that God accepts. Being accounted righteous as His Son, through faith in His blood. Not of works that we have done, though there will be an account for failures in crucifying the flesh daily. But this accounting will not affect our salvation. But this heavenly cleansing will be necessary to prepare the Bride for her Husband prior to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. This is what I understand from Scripture. Upon this Marriage occuring after the taking out of the church, the King and His saintly army will return to battle the forces of babylon and antichrist and defeat them. Then the King will conquer the world and rule it with satan dethroned as the god of this world. Then Rev 11:15 wil be fulfilled, "the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever"

Great show except people don't go to hell or Heaven based on their behavior. Is my understanding from reading the Bible that people go to heaven because they receive Jesus finished work and believe it. And people go to hell because they reject the full deity of Jesus Christ and his finished work

I'm not disagreeing with you, or defending what he said, but I guess the point could relate to James 2:14-26?
