A much better example would have been "Seal Designation Enforcer" which boosts gather rate by 600% instead and would be a lot more useful than the 25% I used in my example.

4:45 I suppose it makes sense, because doubling crit stars would be utterly insane and create a runaway situation in some scenarios where you'd likely be guaranteed 50+ stars every single time, which would also explain the hard cap of 3 stars per hit. At her absolute best, Jack would be ripping us 45 stars (plus 10 for Brave Chain), resulting in guaranteed crits if she could both sustain that level of star drop without support (given she'd be solo in this hypothetical). FGO however hasn't been terribly much for consistency, especially if one looks at DW's attempts to impede 3-turn farming. But yeah, like hypothetically presume doubled star drop on Jack at max star drop for two quick cards critting- that's 60 stars. Were that sustainable (via CE presumably), it would make her Quick Chain irrelevant and guarantee every turn to be full of crits as long as you picked 2 Quick cards. Factor in double NP gain/damage on Arts/Buster and it's easier to figure why they'd gimp Quick in this one area. 9:25 lmao, poor Lakshmi. At least she seems happy. Imagine if her value was 0 or -1. That said, how does Dantes factor in, having no Luck stat? Default to the Avenger's 30?
Even if critical hits did double our star generation, instead of the 20% bonus, I assume the 3 stars per hit cap would still apply. That would prevent us from abusing it too much. You would still need to use her quick brave chain to hit 50+ stars. If they did actually double the cap to 6 for crits, that would be crazy though. I would love to see Jack generating 30 stars per card lol. I have to wonder if they didn't really think this system through in the very beginning. If you look at all of the Assassins that the game launched with, only Hassan can hit 3 times per quick card. Kojiro, Stheno, Jing Ke, Sanson, Phantom, Mata Hari, and Carmilla all hit only 2 times per quick card. It's like they built this system without realizing that the number of hits is the most important part of making it work. So they tried to fix everything by releasing Jack and they *might* have overcorrected by giving her 5 hits, not that I'm complaining :) I'm glad someone appreciated Lakshmi. I like that they made her bad luck an actual plot point in the Indian Lostbelt. Despite it, she's still a saber and she does alright with a 96. It would have been interesting if they had dropped that further. She is a quick based Servant with skills to boost star gen rate and crit damage for the whole party. If she had a 0 gather rate she could have been used to generate stars and give them to Berserkers or Avengers pretty well. Dantes does have a gather rate of 30. I actually wondered why the game gave him a "?" luck rating. I always thought he was pretty lucky. Not for getting falsely accused and locked up, but for being locked up with Abbe and having the chance to get his revenge anyway. Perfect choice for an Avenger by the way, I loved that.

Merlin and 2030 is actually a pretty reasonable alternative most of the time. I have been trying to get my 5th and final copy of 2030 to MLB it for so long! One of these days :)

Oh no! That's a pretty bad oversight, since most of the CEs that do boost gather rate are considerably higher than 25%. Thanks for pointing this out.
