Do you know if its possible to use a snapshot to change or turn on amp channels(AMP1), gain structure, outboard drive pedal, and effects all with the push of one button?
@@haroldcollins6372 of course you can. Just gotta use the lightning bolts in Command Center to do what you want. Repeat the steps you see in the video for the different elements.
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios !Thanks for your videos! ... I could program everything like you showed, yet in snapshots i cannot get it to work. Amp1 is not reacting to the different midi pc commands at all - like it is in the last minutes of this video... Any advice is highly welcomed! Anyone with the same issue?

Great video. I just got my MIDI1 cable and let me tell you, it's liberating!! Having the ability to fully control the Amp1 is just amazing. It's just incredible. Great video and thank you so much for teaching us this. I'm not sure I would have been able to figure this out on my own.

Thanks for a putting up a great video. Is there a way to recall all of these settings using the remote 1?
Say for an example I have set up snapshot 1 in my preset that changes the amp 1 to classic channel and adds a delay.
Then I have a snapshot 2 in the same preset turns off delay and reduces gain on the amp 1 classic channel.
I have this all stored just using the HX FX and the Amp 1 after following your video.
Once this has all been set up, can I then use the remote one to access this on different footswitches.
My thought was that I could have the amp 1 and the hx fx set behind me out of harms way and just have the remote 1 in front of me on the floor.
I see the remote 1 connects to the amp 1 with a regular 1/4 inch cable. and changes the channels of the amp 1. The remote 1 also has a midi socket on it that could go to the HX FX.
Do you know if there is a way to get this to work?
Hi. My Iridium Edition it’s letting only a half way. I can assign only one command to one preset 🤔. I can’t do this like you.
Hi I am trying to do that thing with my helix lt. I want to send snapshot to switch between clean and dirty. I do exact thing you do with that program, but while I press boost, it blinks and nothing happens when I press that snapshot switch I need. Please help:)
Thanks for taking the time to post this material! Is it possible to use stomp mode for amp1 channel changes and gain settings? Or is the only option snapshot mode using the lightening bolts for instant changes as you change snaps? I’ve tried using midi commander to assign a program change to a stop but it doesn't seem to work.
With a recent update I think you can use Control Center to assign anything to any switch so you can be in stomp mode and still change channels and gain if desired. I have not tried this but it should work.
It works perfectly till i go to another Preset put for exampe prog 30 but it doesn't change. Did i forgot something?

Remote 1 only works with Amp1 to my knowledge.
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios I've heard you can utilize Remote 1 along with the HX effects. I purchased the Remote 1 but would love to utilize effects. Clearly I'm lost
CAN YOU GET TO THE 4 BANLS OF NINE PRESETS UDING MIDI FROM THE LINE6 HX EFFECTS
You can program all 4 channels to as many presets as you want.
Do you have to "Learn" all the various combinations and THEN assign them to presets OR can you just Learn them to presets as you go? Does that question make sense?
You will need to learn them first as the numbers should be consistent. Once that process is done you just assign the number to the preset or snapshot and you are done.
How do you avoid the delay in the channel change? There is a noticeable bump when going from clean to dirty.
There will be a delay when using presets but snapshots are instant and not as noticeable.
So can I use this as I cannot get the remote 1 in the UK apparently there discontinued so need a midi that does what the remote one does or is their a better midi controller for that I don't need effects as I have some already, want my mercury and footswitch on my pedal board
Any midi controller will work. HX effects is a great option.
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios I've read the manual for the amp and it says the wrong midi can damage the board inside the amp 1 so I'm trying to find something that is the equivalent of the remote 1. For some reason the remote 1 has been discontinued and cannot be bought in the UK any longer gutted 😟😟😟😟😟😟😟😟 I like the idea of the hxfx but I have tons of FXs already and cannot justify spending £538 on one, cool vid by the way
hello, congratulations for the video, as always my interesting, I wanted to ask you something, I have updated hx effects to version 2.90 and the midi with amp1 does not work for me, I had to update to 2.50, does it work for you with the update 2.90? Thanks
I am still on 2.8. Wonder what is up with 2.9?
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios with 2.80 and also with 2.90 it does not store the amp1 channels, maybe I have some defects on my hx effects, with 2.50 everything works
@@fabioiachini3938 make sure you have Midi RX Clock turned off. You can find it in preferences.

My mercury verson amp 1 just can not go into the midi learning mode, what a pity.

hi, Mac, I have a problem with the ms3 boss on the iridium: after adjusting. the midi parameters for the program change, when I do the learning procedure the rev button continues to flash, and if the preset button does not turn off, it turns off after a while by itself and does not store anything for me ... if I understand correctly with the scenes there is no need to do the learning procedure? for channel change
You have to do the MIDI learn process first and then you can assign the PC and CC messages to the presets and snapshots. Make sure RX midi clock is turned off. Video is in the pinned comments.

the ms3 has only the midi out and the clock out selection, which I turned off at the beginning of the tests ... but I don't understand the learning procedure in the video you do it later, and also another yuotuber with the ms3 does it after, anyway I tried even before but it doesn't work ...
@@pierseraj Midi Clock needs to be off. The MIDI learn process is always done first and the PC numbers can be whatever you want them to be. Go into a preset on the MS3, assign a PC number, make sure the MIDI channel is set to 1, save the preset, go to a different preset on the MS3, hold down Boost on the Amp1 to start the MIDI learn process, while the blue light is blinking go back to the preset you stored the PC number on and the light should stop blinking. Repeat the process for all the other Amp1 channel combinations. Be sure to choose a different PC number for each channel and boost/reverb on or off status.
