Part of the advantage of being an absolute beginner is that I get to see these obvious safe moves and fixes where others see larger, higher value moves. It's cool to see!
It's official: proffesionals play on the 10-14 point when taking white in a handicap game. (See last few seconds of video for explanation if you don't get it.)
I wish I could understand how the small avalanche joseki can be considered "finished" after white's 13-4. Blacks 2 stones are still under threat, as are white's. It's in no way "settled" - it seems like it's still halfway through!

Avalanches are awesome. Really adds some oomph to the game
Happy birthday to me. I love Go so much.
I actually like the avalanche, so this was a nice lecture for me. Keep 'm coming Nick, appreciate your hard work!
I looked into going to the Go Congress a while back but discovered that the tickets are rather pricey.

The Starcraft/Go thing was called "Batoo." th-cam.com/video/c4RLEda7UlE/w-d-xo.html
Good timing for me, as I've been thinking I could do with another joseki option against a 3-4 stone :)

I'm like 2k who doesn't know avalanche so I'm gonna watch this! xD
Cool. I was curious if Sunjang Baduk helps the middle game, are there any lectures about the middle game?
This might be a weird request, but could we play a chat game? I don't have any way to use kgs and I don't know if you also use ogs
