Maputo 1970 - Pearl of the Indian Ocean

A glimpse of the capital of Portuguese Mozambique before Mozambique's independence. Maputo's old name was actually Lourenço Marques until 1976, but I want to use the nowadays name to not get confused.

@@tolkien777 It's sad to see how a once-famous tourist city in Africa turned into a mess today.

@@Yankeedddd same thing happened with Luanda, perhaps to a lesser extent but it's also not what it once was. I was planning on transiting through Beria to Maputo next year but now there's civil unrests there again. All I can hope is that Mozambique might recover one day

My aunt went last year she said it was pretty fun surprisingly stable as long as you stay in the more urban parts, the people were really Nice
