Nahida's demo gave me the most chills, it encapsulates her essence so well with so little words, and the visuals and music go together perfectly. It made me laugh and cry and it's among my fave demos ever
They probably put all their budget in that and frankly it paid off

What I love abt the Scaramouche's demo is how similar it is to Raiden's demo with the editing and style, I rlly like it when there are hints to a connection between characters like that

I love that they worked on those connections in the demos given their deep connections in game. Actually, Raiden's music lines up PERFECTLY with the action shots in Scara's. You could swap the music in either and it still works and looks like it's designed to (though, imo, her music lines up with his video better than his music with her video)
I can't help but notice that Tighnari never actually got put on the ranking visuals, and honestly, it's kind of funny. Our fennec boy was done dirty

The only thing I would sort of disagree with is having Ayaka on the same tier as Raiden, Zhongli and Klee. But goddamn, Nahida's demo is something else entirely, I dont know why but I just get teary eyed every time I watch it and the Aranara theme is definitely the best piece of music that ever graced this game.

The fact that Itto lost in his own demo is an A for me 🤣🤣. Omg I laughed out loud at work seeing Nahida being put at 6x S tier (right where she belongs) awesome work.
Ayato's demo leans a lot into his shuumatsuban head side, hence the scheming, assassination attempts, and treason
We rarely ever see this side i guess, the only other time we got to see it clearly was it through the shuumatsuban quest where the shuumatsuban went against the fatui harbinger, Arlecchino's men
To players who don't really read his lore a lot or pay attention to the minute details, seeing that side of him might be jarring
I agree. At first I didn't understand the things in his demo since back then I just started playing but after doing the Inazuma quests and his story quest it all makes sense. Given he's a high profile person but acts and does things discreetly. His demo still showed how pretty his skills are but it's not as remarkable.

Like her entire kit is about buffing Cryo characters and there he is, her *CRYO claymore NEPHEW* standing **right there** able to help her in battle to foreshadow their relationship and show off her in game skillset, but no.

@@shadprakash i think op was referring to a little co-op moment like albedo and klee would have been nice to see; the little hint from the demo if they did include the two fighting together will be a great foreshadowing to her role in the actual game as a cryo sub dps (like albedo being a sub dps in his vid too) and would elevate the demo imo!!! but i also get it that it's her moment to shine ^^
Yeah, her demo got me thinking she was gonna be a DPS lmao (not that the other supports had demos showing they were supports, but still)
Itto's is still my fav since it's the only one so far that actually did it's job of getting me to like the char more and enough to roll for them.
It just has everything: humour, dripping with personality, cool factor, lore tidbits/worldbuilding, char interactions, banger ost, great editing, fantastic voice acting.
Every other char I have I either wanted before seeing their demo or got them with having no strong feelings either way but Itto's completely swayed me, even after seeing his noodle arms.
My heart felt slightly crushed to see Tighnari put so low, I thought the colors and the theme of the demo set us up for a really great character. His music felt very calming but fun at the same time. Everything else was pretty spot on to what I think.

Nahida’s demo always makes me cry. As amazing as Raiden’s is, Nahida’s just feels so beautiful, like a masterpiece. It contributed to her becoming a favourite character for me

Doesn't hurt that Nahida is also broken as all hell, has literally THE most unique non-combat talent in the game (distance gather AND reading minds?!). Like damn, they just went balls-to-the-wall with Nahida in every conceivable way. I'm so damn happy I managed to not only win my 50/50 with her, but also won the even worse odds to get her signature weapon. I got to set the darling bird free to wreak adorable havoc upon my enemies!
I actually don't think Ayato was meant to be presented as a badass character in his demo. To me, it portrays him just like in the game : calm, collected, always one step ahead and yet never overextending but staying back when needed.
Loves how they make Raiden seems regal in the demo by opening it with Yae's monologue. And the beat drop is just *chefskiss
I love the contrast between the Raiden Shogun and the Komiko demos. it lines up really well with how they are the leaders of two opposing sides in the Inazuma civil war.
Kokomi's counterpart is Kujou Sara though imo.

What you did for Nahida's ranking was honestly so deserved, not only is it visually stunning, the sound design and transitions are just impeccable. The first time I watched it, it made me shiver lmao
I also kept mixing up the character demos with their teasers so that made me realize I need a teaser ranking video, if you want ofc
Nahida and Kokomi's demos will always remain my favourite to rewatch just because of the atmosphere they create, so calm and magical at the same time... Nilou's could be here as well but the music needed just a little bit more to show off the visuals of the trailer

as for ayato's demo, I think I would have given it a low A. This is due to the fact that I got the vibes that hoyoverse was going for with his character/personality, but also because the music is absolutely wonderful and i love it so so much.
another thing i want to add is that it showed how gorou, kazuha and the rest of the resistance managed to make it to Tenshukaku in time to save the traveler (implying that Ayato basically saved the traveler's life thru sayu and then kazuha blocking the shogun's sword).
Raiden's character demo was a whole another level
One thing to point out is that how at the beginning shows the drone shot of Narukami Island and she's at the top of Tenshukaku, it just shows off how almighty, omniscient and strong she is and the overall visuals and transitions and her voice lines never fails to give me goosebumps. Really whole level!

Hu Tao was and still is my favourite demo, her personality and style are just encapsulated perfectly and it shows off everything about her amazingly as a demo should.
I remember crying to the drop in nahida's demo. It was magestic. (but how dare you isolate her from the rest, has she not been alone long enough ? XD )
And honestly I think that for me the music is one of the key component for me liking a demo, so even if they are not visually amazing I still really like Tighnari's and shenhe's demos. I love the music (Only mentioning these two because they are low in your list)
And then you have some demos that I don't really feel anything for while watching, like Yelan, ayaka or Yae... I guess they just don't do it for me ... And I hate Nilou's demo, just because I don't like her XD
Yelan’s and Raiden’s demos will always be my fav just because for Yelan’s, I love the Noir theme and Raiden’s theme just emanates complete POWER.
Nahida’s trailer tho… that one triggers my instinctual need to PROTECC and will always hit me square in my feels.

Seeing Itto on B tier hurts me so much. He's numero uno to me
I just wanna say, I REALLY like the fact that Cyno, Nahida, and Scaramouche have that tech glitch computer style in their demoes/ kit.
In Cyno's case, it's really cool because it's like ancient magic mixed with tech and it's really cool, I really like those glitchy electro effects and the 3D Anubis with his splash art at the beginning.
In Nahida's case it's fitting because of the whole akasha thing being like a huge data cloud if I'm not mistaken, and I like that her effects are literaly computer mouse and keyboard.
And for Scara, while he has much less of these effects, it still looks cool, Idk what he has to do with computers I didn't finish the archon quest, but looks cool nonetheless. He also got another style mixed in too so it looks really nice.
Also, all of their OSTs are bangers, epsecially Cyno's and Scara's.

Kinda sad that most people’s criteria of a good demo is only the beat drops… imo the demo’s without the beat drops are the most unique music wise. Idk I feel like the intense build up is getting a little predictable, hence why I love a lot of the newer demos

When it comes to calming music Tighnari is my favorite. When it comes to epic ones Cyno is my fav. I find it crazy how they’re best friends with opposite opposing themes that’s so cool to me.
Other tiny detail that Yoimiya "Pew Pew Pew!" are in sync with the music across all language except JP for some reason
I would put ayatos demo in S just cuz it tied up inazuma's plot holes(ayato and yae were the reason kazuha and the resistance randomly showed up to tenshukaku that time)
honestly a character demo should not be the reason for me to learn about this.... should have been his story quest instead

It's amazing how Nahida's demo still makes me cry with so many emotions. It is a perfectly crafted demo.
Ayaka's theme is so damn good... It's perfect for a winding drive through the Rockies in my favorite coupe
I've watched Nahida's demo so many times and yet watching here again the goosebumps and the tears came right back. It's so perfect for her.

Whilst I evidently would rank some demos differently because, well, opinions, I am glad we agree on Nahida's demo. It's just a friggin' masterpiece and my all-time favourite. I cried during both trailers. That new Ranking template was accurate.

of course nahidas demo is my favourite but the reason that ayaka comes as a so very close second to me is the beautiful subtle piano in the background thats hard to notice the first time hearing it. the piano is what REALLY carries that song and makes it feel the way it does imo. the piano is also the most important part in ganyus demo imo but in her case i dont think it really changes where i would place it in the tier list
Yoimiya's has always been my favorite and nothing has topped it yet
It does what a demo should, it tells you all you need to know about the character, their story, their personality, their kit
But what makes hers the best is the way they incorporate the music with the action
With yoimiya hitting music beats when she fires an arrow
Its what i want to see in these demos but sadly only a few of them even do it all
Some themes have amazing beats but just dont make use of it like cyno
Yoimiyas is the best for me and it probably will be a long time

Raiden's demo is juste on a whole other level. It's so beautifull, especially the beginning when yae talks in the background. Legit makes me cry I love it so much
These 2 videos are the first time I've ever seen any of these demos. I won't miss any more of them. That Raiden one is crazy and the music on Nilous is amazing too
Some of the demos literally give me not just goosebumps, but HUGE goosebumps. As for Nahida, somehow, when it comes to the lullaby part with "lalala", I just start crying uncontrollably. IDK what it is, if not the power of audiovisual art.

interestingly (this is my opinion) i think some character demos are a little weaker compared to their character 2D trailers, which made me super interested in your opinions on those too!
You should totally do a four star one as well! Heizou and Thoma's demos are AMAZING! And faruzan is just on another level.

Raiden's is by far my favorite from a music standpoint alone. The oriental trap, the "fake" drop etc. As an EDM fan, the music just sounds amazing. From a visual standpoint from Raiden Standing above the Inazuma city, to the transitions, to the switch from Raiden to Ei. and so many more things.
Raiden’s demo stays being the only one that truly hyped me up for her. It’s always on top. And Kokomi’s is just so enchanting, I love it. More love for Yae’s though, it was so cool
Id disagree hoyo never tried to make ayato a "badass" he is always portrayed as a resourceful man , one who always is at least 3 steps ahead of you , he is by all means a good martial artist arguebly top 2-3 of Inazuma as a whole but his brains are comparable to Miko's ,he doesn't need to be-try being badass when his opponents are always at his mercy
Even the shogun which ""sees everything in Inazuma gets outsmarted by the duo of Miko/ayato" she only gets the scope in hindsight
Tbf we saw from the Archon Quest that the Raiden Shogun puppet is actually quite easily manipulated shown from the Fatui using the "eternity principles" it runs on to their advantage.
As well as shown from Kujou Takayuki that people seem to believe even if she ultimately is manipulated it doesn't even matter since none are powerful enough to stand in her way.
Gonna be straight with you-
Yelan feels like you could plug her right into a James Bond movie and have her in a Catwoman/Batman type relationship with Bond.
Yoimiya and Raiden are still my favorites. I used to see especially Yoimiya all the time in TH-cam ads. And Raiden is just so hype, the music, the transitions, the effects, even some foreshadowing. It's all just on another level.

Aside from Cyno's ominous demo, Raiden's and Nahida's hit harder. They really put in the effort and something special for the Archon ones.

Now that Alhaitham's demo is out, you should definitely consider doing an updated one right before Fontaine is out.
Nahida's demo just warms the heart, pretty as much as her character does

Another great video! For the most part i agree with all your choices (especially nahida lol). For me personally i would probably move ayato up as the fatui scene at the start carries it for me and for klee... hers just isn't my thing and doesn't hit as hard as yoimiya for me but besides that i stand by your points :D

Nahida had this kind of excitement that immediately suggests to the unknowing, that you're watching a presentation for the very definition of fun.
Meanhwhile, many people who actually knew the story were in full "protect her smile" mode. This went so far that, when Nahida's Story Trailer was released, even folks on 4chan wanted to pull for her, just to free a fictional character from her cage. The emotional beats on her videos are superb, and the Aranara choir in the second half of her demo squeezes a smile out of basically every face, including my cynical self.
However, I gotta say, Sumeru overall has been very lacking in terms of hype. Granted, the region still has about half a year to make up for that, but Tighnari, Nilou, and Wanderer were really boring to me, and Cyno got a way superior trailer from a meme creator, in my opinion, who used much more energetic and electric music to emphasize the danger he exudes.
I can only hope that the Alhaitham and Dehya trailers blow my socks off, otherwise I'll probably remember Sumeru as the region that couldn't commit.
I completely agree with this in its entirety! However, what I find to be interesting is how the character demos for the 4-stars is Sumeru have been. I find that they landed much better than that of the 5-stars, all showcasing great music and ample character. I like all Sumeru 4-star demos, meanwhile for the 5-stars, it’s only Nahida that sticks out like a sore thumb, in the best way of course. I also like Tighnari’s quite a bit though.

Max does such a good job as Ryuji in persona and brings that same type of energy to his work as Itto. That withe the editing and music work make Itto's demo an s-tier in my book.
After this video I started craving for a music tier list. Could be demo music. Boss fight music, fighting music , anything. Sounds fun to me.
Honestly I've never seen a better demo than Raiden's. Simply perfect, unmatched, goosebumps everytime. When a new demo comes out I just go back to watch it again. Nahida's demo came close and it made me cry but Raiden is just up there. With that in mind, my SS-tier demo would be : Raiden, Nahida, Hu Tao, Zhongli, Yae Miko and Yelan, then the S-tier one would be Cyno, Kokomi, Ayaka, Yoimiya, Venti and Kazuha.
My favorite demo from a 5 star Is Hu Tao's, but My favorite Demo of all time Is 100% Faruzan's I wasn't really expecting much from her at first but her demo has editing, visual effects, and THE BEST DEMO MUSIC EVER that just blew me out of the water. I hope you'll maybe do one for 4 star character demo's in the future too! I want to see what you think of the more recent 4 star demos like Layla and Faru because I honestly enjoyed those more than the 5 star characters they were released with in their patches
Looking at Scaramouche demo just makes me hype for whoever the next harbinger will be I’ll definitely be pulling for them next if they’re in Fontaine.

Really enjoyed your tier list and I agreed at the most part of the ratings. The demo for the archons (ehem Venti) are just amazing and lives up to their archon status and my absolute favorites: Raiden Shogun>Nahida>Zhongli. And then there's Klee's just being Klee I love it.
Honestly I expected Wanderers Demo to be an easy S. It fits his personality so well and him beating up the Fatui was kinda fun as well
I expect the reason you expected Cyno to drop so much harder is due to the Trailer. The version trailer had a buildup on Candice’s theme and then a hard drop on Cyno

Don't know if you'll do 4 stars demo in the future but Collei's demo (Japanese) was good enough to rank pretty decently here.
If there is a tier list for 4 star demos, Faruzan's demo is I like the most and it almost feels like a 5 star demo for some reason.

Regarding the constellation use in a demo, I noticed they use Kazuha's c6 in a few clips, you can see it near the end during the hydro-infused burst and the plunge following right after.
His plunge is always anemo+infused element. No C6 Kazuha in the demo

Nahida and klee got my lil heart for demos 💜 and hu tao and zhongli and yoi is such a bop in terms of music, and in terms of looks kokomi wins for sure and yelan or raiden as second 💜 for animation tho as an artirst I have big love for those and miko and yelan and nahida got the most so i'm loving those aswell (also scara hand movements are sooo goood), for story telling it's shenhe and yelan and for character it's itto and yoimiya bc seeing other characters in other demos warms my heart 💜
My favourite overall has to be Xiao. The edgy lore, music and the ominous tone is all it takes to win me over.
Of the ones in this video though Cyno is my favourite. (I'm noticing a trend.) Before seeing that demo I didn't care for Cyno at all but after watching it I immediately spent all my hard earned primos on his banner. You said the music let you down but I think it really fits him well, cyno is cold and ruthless and I find the slower pace in parts of the music really reflects that.

Honestly I’m not really ashamed to admit it but my favorite demo has to be Mona’s Or Nahida. Nahida for literally all the things you mentioned. But Mona just has a special place in my heart. It’s simple it’s nice it’s not too long. The part where she actually starts fighting is amazing the music timing up with her burst is gorgeous not to mention the burst it self where they slow things down. I just love Mona so much but they’re all pretty good! Keqing is my 3rd btw
Nahida and raiden wouldn’t have such a real nice demo if zhongli’s doesn’t be this success - he’s the og the most iconic one im pretty sure every archons will have the similar demo structure too
In this part i think u ranked a lot of demo higher than expected (I mean it’s ur opinion but a ton of character suddenly ranked S tier made me feel weird) well maybe except scara’s demo which is an S tier for all the references- the same intro as kazuha’s demo, a ton of similarities with ei’s demo, the bird that appears in ei’s idle and the fact that he beats up some fatui guys which doesn’t really making sense until u finished his interlude quest. It’s so fun cracking all the references in his demo (or maybe the demo got postponed so i was overexcited)
Ngl nahida demo is like an entire movie I don't have any words to express than WOOW I just knew you were gonna do that put ssssssss tier if you put it on f tier I'mma sue you 4 life

I've never seen the Nahida demo before - out loud screamed at the beginning and middle, screamed and cried at the end, then cried and applauded once it was over. I'll be pulling all seven copies come her rerun after that heizou fully charged gut punch
I wonder where Alhaitham's demo would be ranked. Me personally I would put him in S because of the music, visuals and Kaveh (plus Cyno and Tighnari) but that's just me
