    Just some sales get paid that high. Most salespersons are on the bottomof the salary chain. All the others are quite the same for every developped western country. And you should say that you are talking about gross salaries which can be up to -45% after taxes.

    Attn
    You did not mention anything about Austrian Tax ! Don't you know that in Austria if you make 3000/month as gross you will be taxed atleast 200 and 300 more will be Health insurance then Nett will be around 2400.However, this is only possible for skilled people not normal employee

    Hey, Im a Lithuanian girl who has spent the past 17 years living in Ireland, and I recently moved to Strasbourg for my ERASMUS year abroad as part of my undergraduate degree. I speak around an intermediate level of German and am considering moving to Vienna for a Masters in 2 years time, and I was just wondering if you could do a video on Public Service/ Diplomatic Jobs/ Government in Vienna? I'd be considering applying to the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna so if the topic is of any interest to you I would love to see a video on it! I love your content by the way, really destigmatizes the fears some would face when moving abroad to a new country :)

    I am a HR graduate with a Master's degree and unemployed for 2 years. A2 German level is usually the reason why they reject me. Austria is not so keen on talents without German. English positions advertised on places like The Local are few and far in between and usually it's more candidates than places available.

    • @PetraBotekova
      @PetraBotekova  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for sharing your experience! What jobs did you look for? I can imagine HR might me hard, especially in companies where English isn't the company language.

      @@PetraBotekova You're welcome. I appreciate the reply. I looked for many entry-level jobs and also I tried many times to look for praktikums as well. Had very good cover letters and even tried to mail some cover letters to companies but the answer was always the same - insufficient German knowledge. Indeed, it's extremely hard. Believe it or not, there are more chances for candidates like me in your home country of Slovakia and also I received many calls from Brno and Katowice who seem to be more interested in what I had to offer rather than the dogmatic view of German only professional skills currently existing in Wien.

    Every time she said "as much as 35 thousand euros per year" I can assure you it's far from being a good salary, at least for Vienna. It's sad that you don't talk about taxes here which are extremely high. Austria is not a country where one can become rich. Think about it, if you earn 1 million, you will have to return MORE THAN HALF OF IT as taxes! So all those naive souls thinking they will come from Eastern Europe or whatever and get a 35k job I can tell you - Google 'taxation in Austria'. You will be disappointed to see how little you'll have left eventually. Plus, housing prices in Austria (can vouch for Vienna) are very high! With 35k per year you can only rent a small room in a shared place, if you intend to save some money and eat, too. So I urge you people please do not be misguided about all these beautiful salaries you see mentioned in the video.

    • @PetraBotekova
      @PetraBotekova  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Kate I don't know where you come from but coming from Slovakia you will earn at least twice as much with the same costs as in Slovakia as well as same taxes. So please stop generalizing as long as you don't have insights into the job markets in all other countries in the world.

    • @katerinawie
      @katerinawie 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PetraBotekova First of all, I am not trying to undermine your video in any way. You are doing a good job. I just noted that these salaries should been seen through a net perspective.
      Slovakia has a different taxation scheme. If the internet doesn't let me down, the income tax bracket is 19-25 percent, correct me if wrong. So by default people return less money to the government than in Austria. Then, the prices are different in Slovakia. You can buy more stuff in Slovakia for 100 EUR than in Austia. Therefore, you need more money in Austria to live hence they pay you more. Cleaning stuff in Vienna also gets paid well, I bet much more than in Slovakia.
      Buying a flat, rent, even food is cheaper in Slovakia. It is basic economics, you get paid with accordance to the market in a given country.
      Much love to Slovakia ♡
      It is a beautiful place. I myself go there on holiday because in Austria the tourism is more expensive.

    Hello :) I recently discovered your channel and I think it's great. You offer quite the useful information and are very charming and easy to listen to :)
    I wanted to ask, if you could make a video detailing the job market opportunities for people who are from a non-EU country? As many of us know, different rules apply, and there are more obstacles to overcome. It would be greatly appreciated If you could offer some insight into how companies deal with these sort of candidates and what are the chances for hiring someone who doesn't have a EU citizenship.
    Keep up the good work with the channel.

    Besides the brutal tax rates that others have pointed out, I wish people realized that so many of the job advertisements in Austria and elsewhere are false and misleading. People waste their time submitting their resume for a job that doesn't exist.
    Either recruitment companies seek to build their "candidates database" for when a client resorts to them, or they are rather a cover for money laundering. There's no other reasonable explanation for how these fake companies can keep up with rent and other expenses given that they don't have enough clients.

    Hi, really love your content. It is very helpful. So, here are doubts.
    In HR and Marketing field communication (talking to candidates, clients etc) is key and I think they'd require a great German language proficiency. May I know if this is the case?
    Also, would a decent German knowledge and experience in Finance would help an individual to face less challenge and as compared to Marketing and HR (considering less proficiency in German is less)?

Let me introduce myself, I am a Senior Software Engineer ( graduated in computer science) and had worked in London UK for about a year. Currently, I am working for one of the Indian employers and looking for a job in Austria (or Germany). Firstly, I would like to know how much vacancies are available in Austria for my profile, if they do have how can I get started with them. I don't want to apply for a Job Seeker Visa because for this I would need to quit my current job and look for a job in Austria. Do the Austria company hires remotely? if yes then on which portal I can register and apply?
