As someone who’s been watching them every Sunday for almost 20 years. I personally think it’s a mix of both. It’s like when he has a clean pocket he’s still not comfortable considering most of the Time this line crumbles. That’s why he overthinks certain situations and he just takes off. I’m not blaming him and I’m not blaming the o line even though they’re awful with a few exceptions. They just gotta keep him clean and he has to expect the pocket to be clean instead of him feeling that he’s gotta run because he doesn’t trust his line.
If he doesn't have an open receiver, he doesn't need to step up into the pocket. That plus if he steps up, he'll still be 2 within 2 feet of a defender. 2 defenders, actually. In the clip, he avoids the defender. It's hard to evaluate his decision-making on this play because we don't know the result of the play.
The D line was baiting him to step up. If you see the pocket is moving to the left. And the defender on his right was a swim move away from being in Fields lap.
We’re gonna get some answers as to who’s the bigger problem on Sunday. Fields has an option QB mindset, the problem is he most often chooses the least difficult of the two options which is to takeoff with the ball, hence whenever he senses that he’s running out of time to deliver a pass rather than find another angle to complete a pass his instincts kick in and he completely abandons the thought of completing a pass and he then tries to gain yardage by doing what he does best, running. He seems like a decent guy but he’s just an option QB at best, not an NFL style QB

He holds the ball way too long. Doesn't slide up in the pocket. Runs TOWARD pressure. Can't hit checkdowns right in front of him. Stares down receivers. Can't hit a pass beyond 6 yards. Can't throw receivers open. Can't look off defenders. Dude is a bust.

As someone who’s been watching them every Sunday for almost 20 years. I personally think it’s a mix of both. It’s like when he has a clean pocket he’s still not comfortable considering most of the Time this line crumbles. That’s why he overthinks certain situations and he just takes off. I’m not blaming him and I’m not blaming the o line even though they’re awful with a few exceptions. They just gotta keep him clean and he has to expect the pocket to be clean instead of him feeling that he’s gotta run because he doesn’t trust his line.
If he doesn't have an open receiver, he doesn't need to step up into the pocket. That plus if he steps up, he'll still be 2 within 2 feet of a defender. 2 defenders, actually. In the clip, he avoids the defender. It's hard to evaluate his decision-making on this play because we don't know the result of the play.
The D line was baiting him to step up. If you see the pocket is moving to the left. And the defender on his right was a swim move away from being in Fields lap.
We’re gonna get some answers as to who’s the bigger problem on Sunday. If Bagent comes in and looks even half way decent and the offense looks like an NFL offense, we’ll know for sure that Justin is a bigger problem than Getsy…I’m definitely not absolving Getsy, he’s clueless too…but I’m just about done defending Fields, he makes it tough
Justin Fields and the Bears were giving Detroit problems. I think Chicago is going to regret trading him for a couple of years. It takes time for players to learn & develop. Nothing good & lasting happens overnight.

Fields has an option QB mindset, the problem is he most often chooses the least difficult of the two options which is to takeoff with the ball, hence whenever he senses that he’s running out of time to deliver a pass rather than find another angle to complete a pass his instincts kick in and he completely abandons the thought of completing a pass and he then tries to gain yardage by doing what he does best, running. He seems like a decent guy but he’s just an option QB at best, not an NFL style QB
