I'm not much knowledgeable but want to share my experience that it might help. I have got the chance to do Umrah twice, the first time around when I saw the Kaaba, the tears started naturally, so much emotion but the second time around, when I saw Kaaba, I made dua but had to force the tears out, the emotion wasn't overflowing. I kept asking Allah and put more effort in my prayers, so by the time I reach Madina, my heart was full of emotion and afterwards with contentment. What I realized was that the state of our "Imaan" is never constant, it's like a wave that is why we as Muslims do constant struggle in our religion to maintain our Imaan. That is another reason hopelessness is discouraged by Allah, He asks us to not become hopeless from Him and from our own selves. Secondly, I agree with your dad that you guys should have gone to Makkah first and then Madina, as it's the true sequence even for the journey of Muhammad SAW and Islam as well. In Makkah, the initial phase of Islam, it was tough, foundational, where people declared that "we are Muslims now" and had to face hardships. Then as a reward our Prophet SAW with his companions migrated to Madinah and found peace. Also, as your dad said that Love is unconditional, it's not only true with people but for Allah as well. Sometimes He gives us blessings as tests and sometimes hardships, then it's on us how we react to those circumstances. Being grateful in our hardships and continue to pray is easier said then done. It's a mindful practice which becomes permanent if one is consistent. I know it's such a long comment 😊excuse me for that. I wish you best of luck. Oh One last thing, a dua which I do regularly, it's the verse 24, Surah Qasas in Quran, I'm writing english translation here. “My Lord! I am truly in ˹desperate˺ need of whatever provision You may have in store for me.”
@@lost_poet_ ye I know just saying never got a thanks from haris even though this is highest viewed video in over a year due to the title suggestion 🤷♂️
