Ummmmmm you notice how fat that wire is coming out of the amp? You aren’t giving it the power it needs to run. There’s a reason that wire going into the amp is so fat!
That's a good eye. This amp can do 500 Watt amp at 1ohm. Since I'm only using it at 4 Ohm its only using 150 Watts. The factory wire is plenty thick for an amp this efficient at 150 watts. There is a fuse installed by Ford engineers that are much smarter than me. If the amp tried to pull too much power then the fuse would blow. I have seen it blow when a customer tried to connect a 2 ohm 6.75 kicker sub. At 2 ohms the amp can do 300 watts. Why do we use this 500 watt amp when we only use 125 watts? It has built in Bass restoration (makes better bass). Easy to set gains. It just fits! And most importantly the factory radio does not like just any amp. We tried 10 different amps and this is the only one that fit behind the panel and was also recognized by the radio.
Since it doesnt have the premium sound option, they didnt put a subwoofer in BUT they still put an enclosure and a fake driver on it so you could easily install an amp and a subwoofer driver in it later if you want to.
I just bought a 24 Big Bend without a B&O package and there is a working sub in the back. And the audio really isn’t bad. Guess they may have listened to feedback and made some improvements..?
I haven't heard a 2024 but I do know that some people with a working sub have done the upgrade and been happy. How much bass you need is an opinion. I'm glad you like the sound.
Did you buy the B&O system? . I dont think this bronco had the B&O package ( cuz you are using forscan)... well at least they leave you the speaker box to put the your won AMP and your own Subwoofer . man that plug and play connection, I need it one!
This is a customers car. From what I know only the non B&O came like this. Unfortunately I can't sell the package until I do the install video and I still havent for another truck to do the video.
I have a 2024 with the B&O and there is a working amp and sub back there. Spend the money on 6.5 upper rear pods. When the top is off having more sound on the 6.5 pods is way better.
I am about to install a Pioneer amp and it appears using your harness is the easy button. I will run its own power to the battery since it uses 4g wire. That being said do I need to worry about the whole forscan thing if all I need to use are the harness to FCA part?
If you have a working sub then forscan is not needed. If you do not have a sub or a fake sub you need to activate the output using forscan. The kicker amp has the correct resistance that the amplifier is looking for. We tried about 10 amos and only 2 or 3 worked. I"m not sure if the pioneer has the right resistance that the radio is looking for.
My 2023 was a late build,12/23. It definitely has a powered sub, 7 speaker system. It’s not impressive at all, but there is decent low end presence back there.
Sound is an opinion. I've has many people with the working factory sub upgrade to this and be happy then there are people that need two huge subs in the trunk.
I’ve had 4 Broncos. Two Badlands ( one 2 dr.and one 4 dr. ) and two Everglades...the 24 Everglades I have now is the only one that has had a wrkg. Sub. Definitely gonna upgrade ALL speakers and add amps! Wish there was actually a way to swap head units as well! I changed my head unit in my AEV 392 Rubicon to the Alpine plug and play. The “Alpine” that comes with it sucked!
I noticed you said you quit selling the 8” because it requires modification. Is the modification to the housing? I’m not against it if you think that amp is enough to drive the 8” a little harder than the 6.75.
If you want to do an 8" subwoofer I recommend running it at 2 ohms and running a wire to the battery. The 8" sub needs 300 watts of power. The kicker key 500 does 150 watts at 4 ohm and 300 watts at 2 ohm. The factory power wire cannot handle the 300 watts. We stopped selling it because of the 4 that we sold 2 were returned. It was later that we realised that the sub was being underpowered.
So I went to you site and see this is all pre-order stuff. So its $450 plus $50 for the sub knob, and another $489 for the mounting kit? $1000 for a sub woofer seems a little pricey. Why is the mounting bracket so expensive?
I think you may have confused the mounting bracket price for the total. I have 10 amps and bass knobs arriving on Monday but only 3 subs because of a backorder. We will be shipping out as inventory becomes available.
The fake sub and amp is the most ridiculous thing ever. Why not a blanking plate? Or no subwoofer box at all? How was this option the most economical? They wouldn't do it if it wasn't cheaper somehow.
Ford also gives you a $250-350 credit for the "fake" subwoofer and amp combo. I read on some Bronco forums that this was because of the parts shortage and crash test. Ford had to put the subwoofer there for structural stability, or it would have to crash test again without it. This is second and third-hand information. I have no idea if it's true, but it sounds plausible. Please don't shoot the messenger. I have a 2022 Bronco Base and didn't get ANY subwoofer, fake or real. Just having the factory wiring there would have been nice, but my Bronco doesn't even have the wiring...
Great video. I see a Ford Parts sticker on the plastic sub box frame, but can not make it out. Can you purchase that plastic sub box as part from FORD? If so, can you provide details on sticker. Thanks. I live in FL or I would head over.
I have a 2023 bronco black diamond and it doesn’t say subwoofer delete with a -250 on the window sticker I was told that means I actually have the cheap crappy subwoofer. Is that correct?
I have been trying to figure out a way to do this but im scared of forscan. I watched your vid and whe you said you were in Jersey ,i almost passed out .looks like i. About 45 min from you. Expect a phone call from me in the morning.!!!!!
Before you make any changes with fore scan, you can create a file call it original file and save it and back it up then if you have any issues with scan, you can just go back to your original file without any problems and I would suggest going back your original file before you take your car to get any work done by Ford
