      Hi Paul, thank you for such a nice comment. :) I'm interested in going full time, for a while at least once I've finished work. What size motorhome do you have? Do you have any permanent base at all?

      @pauledwards8658 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If ever you get the chance to do it, Just give it a try, I’ve never lived in a house at all in my entire life, I was on various Boats for over 20 years, then on my Motorhome for the last 6, I don’t see why you want to wait until you Finnish work in order to give it a try.
      No I haven’t got a permanent base or Storage else where, My Motorhome is 30ft from Bumper to Bumper, Taken me Wide n Far all over the UK & Ireland & suits me rather well.
      Enjoy & Be Safe Matey

      Be safe out there.

    Really enjoyed your videos first class. I was surprised though that you mentioned cumbrae and Bute as two islands worth visiting, and yet made hardly any mention of arran. We take our Motorhome over there three or four times a year, and we love Arran.

    • @CamperCameraGo
      @CamperCameraGo  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks William. I didn't mention Arran as I only passed by the terminals for the other 2 islands. I will be covering Arran in a future video though. Where are your favourite spots on the island?

    • @williamhurley8407
      @williamhurley8407 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are many spots to wild camp on Arran, and there are even two free chemical waste points at whiting bay and blackwaterfoot. The forestry car park at north Sannox is a great location, then there’s Lochranza, pirnmill, various places on the west coast, kildonnan, Lamlash, and my favourite the end of the coastal road through marganaheglish. There is a lovely viewpoint between Lamlash and Brodick.There are good spots in Brodick, but we prefer to get away to the quieter parts of the island. Look forward to your video, if I can be of any help don’t hesitate to ask.

    Congratulations on your first video, I know the area well and as a sailor I loved the little video of the sailors battling the wind and surf to get away, quite professionally in quite a tippy boat.
    Looking forward to the rest, these video's will be great for visiting tourists from England, Ireland and beyond, as let's face it we have THE best small country for holidaying in motorhome.
    We should always encourage the tourists to stop, eat out and spend money in the local communities they pass through, always try to engage positively with the locals, ask for directions, good places to go as the number of owned and rental vans increase, we don't wan't the public and councils to have a negative view on MH's and start putting up stupid signs and height barriers.

    • @CamperCameraGo
      @CamperCameraGo  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I couldn't agree more. There's always going to be some who act so selfishly that they spoil it for others. I think it's important to try to show that we are a responsible group of people in the main who are looking to have fun and enjoy the areas we visit - and that means spending money locally and not messing up the patch. Thanks for watching :)

      @@CamperCameraGo We will be driving up from Mid Wales for 3 weeks. My wife is not very mobile, so walking and climbing are out of the question. However we were given Scottish NT membership for Xmas, so a good portion of the trip would be south of Loch Lomond and over to Edinburgh looking at the gardens etc. We are not adverse to a bit of wild camping, however.

    You parked in the wrong car park for a motorhome. You turned into the right, but you should have turned left after coming over the bridge as that is where motorhomes can stay overnight at the Largs haven.

    What kind of price do they charge Andy for going on these small ferry's to other parts of Scotland.

    • @CamperCameraGo
      @CamperCameraGo  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Yoko. It depends on the route and the size of your van. For the ferry from Wemyss Bay to Bute for example a van the size of mine is £35 return pluse £6.50 per adult passenger (including driver).
      The ferry from Largs to Cumbrae is a much shorter trip and is just under £20 for the van return and £3.50 per adult.
      A long crossing like Oban to Barra is just over £200 for the van and £29.50 per adult return. www.calmac.co.uk for details

    • @CamperCameraGo
      @CamperCameraGo  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are some other routes that are served by other operators, but Calmac is the biggest operator in Scotland.

    Getting MH's on ferries, Comrie ferry up before Fort Willam, only one where I had a rear end scrape, other locals had stories of their cars scraping. As an ex-seafarevwith ferry experience, this should not happen. If you are in doubt stop and ask them to adjust the ramp. Don't be pressurised by the crew wanting an easy life, you have a major investment to protect getting on and off ferries.
