I was once on the Doctor Who section of Wikipedia and was reading out how the creators didn't want people to think the Doctor and his companions were "together", so they made the Doctor out to be an Asexual character. They literally used the word "Asexual", and I was like "what is that?" Even though I was familiar with it the term in relation to plants. So I clicked on it, read it and was like wide eyed and thought "yes! That's what I am." I had come to the realization and conclusion of who I was well before being able to put a label to it. Much later I learned that there were many other sexualities under the "Asexual", umbrella.

Some moments and writing choices... such as that one... were a bit off colour for me. He did warn us he was silly. Both he and Matt Smith's Doctor's had that in common. I really don't mind some variation around the Doctor's ace-ness. We don't suffer a time dialation problem like with Captain James Kirk, the time between the doctor's marriages is an unbroken ace record. (Over 900 years till David Tennant.) Chibnall also managed to keep the Doctor ace. There was a fabulous episode that addressed it, the time loop with Daleks one. Loved that. Such heart rendering moments in that one.
Seeing Fictosexual being included made me really happy, a lot of people don't take us seriously and think we are just making it up, for us they aren't just fictional characters, they are also our friends and irreplaceable life partners. Personally it's specifically because these characters aren't real that makes me interested in them, once they become real I'm not interested anymore XD

I’m asexual. But I tend to just stick to the term asexual or greysexual. Cause I feel like when you start splitting hairs, it really starts to feel like we’re dividing ourselves too much. I totally understand where it would be comforting to fit yourself into a very specific box, but I tend to prefer just like putting myself under the blanket term. (Tho I will say, I do relate most to aegosexual)
I personally like to use the umbrella term because using more specific labels seems like giving too much info about myself. But it's nice knowing about microlabels and that you're not that weird. You got some freaks like you out there in the wild

Labels that are useful for me are aegosexual, and maybe greysexual (as in it happens very rarely and at a low level, like hearing a sound somewhere in the distance, but I believe I've felt it). I think an interesting thing to note as well is that asexuals can engage in sex for their own reasons (intimacy, feeling good, for the sake of a partner etc.) without that meaning anything about their level of sexual attraction. Asexuals that have sex are still asexual, as long as they never (or only very rarely) experience sexual attraction.

I've been identifying as asexual since the early age of 13. It was not hard at all for me to figure it out. Never felt anything for other people in that way. Turns out I am Aegosexual! I had no idea there were more should I say ''subgenres'' when it came to asexuality. I was doubting a lot if I actually *was* asexual or not and this explained it very nicely. i'm gray ace and aceflux! aceflux means exactly how ace you are fluctuates, it's actually very similar to the your werewolf metaphor for gray ace. gray ace by itself is a more flexible label that can mean things other from aceflux (feeling attraction at a very low level, or under very specific circumstances). in general, gray ace can be an umbrella term for all other not fully ace acespec identities

From what I know, it means you're sexually attracted to people you've formed an emotional attachment with. This attachment could be romantic/platonic love or in some cases, it might not involve love at all.

This video is really helpful. I knew about the ace spectrum, but I didn’t know everything on this list, and this has helped me get a little closer to what I think I am. I’m but a struggling girl in her high school years surrounded by horny teens who want to make out at the first eye contact 😅 I’m still trying to work out if I’m Demisexual, Aegosexual, (or Fictosexual since I love fictional characters lol), or if I just haven’t found “the one”/a different label that suits me. I feel slightly less lonely and weird knowing about this spectrum, and I should probably look more in depth at the romantic spectrum since I’m not a fan of dating people…
Personally im a demisexual/demiromantic however i guess the way my brain works doesnt process sex itself as something that is always fueled by sexual attraction, and i can recognize that i still want to engage in those sorts of behaviours but usually i feel i only actively want to with a person if i have been given time to develop the attraction to them, however that attraction doesnt need to be present to be willing to do them, does that make sense?

I’m still trying to work out if I’m Demisexual, Aegosexual, (or Fictosexual since I love fictional characters lol), or if I just haven’t found “the one”/a different label that suits me. I feel slightly less lonely and weird knowing about this spectrum, and I should probably look more in depth at the romantic spectrum since I’m not a fan of dating people…

Personally im a demisexual/demiromantic however i guess the way my brain works doesnt process sex itself as something that is always fueled by sexual attraction, and i can recognize that i still want to engage in those sorts of behaviours but usually i feel i only actively want to with a person if i have been given time to develop the attraction to them, however that attraction doesnt need to be present to be willing to do them, does that make sense?

For me, the definition of asexual is lack of s*xual attraction to others so, you can experience s*xual attraction but not the same as allosexuals. To saying "having no s*xual attraction" as the definition of asexual will invaliding almost all microlabels that you have listed in this video imo. Pls take this with grain of salt
