I took 2 tomato seeds out of a burger king whopper about 70 days ago. I now have a nice healthy BeefSteak Tomato plant growing 😊
😂 Only one seed grew?
@@LearnHow2 Yup only one 🤣🤣
Lmao😂😂😂😂😂 no way this is epic must try😊
In case anyone was wondering, yes this actually worked! first try! woo hoo!🌱 thank u for posting!
That's great to hear! Good luck with your growing and keep safe.
Is it ok if I only put the seeds???
@@skylieghell9381 the seeds themselves are very small and delicate. So yes but be careful!
i love these videos, never overly complex or overly produced, but always good to watch. I must admit when I saw the image of a sliced tomato in dirt I thought it was the 1st of April.
Thank you very much! Its always great to get appreciative feedback. Keep safe.
This is so British! Love it.
I did this and yes it's worked got lots of baby tomato plants
I put it in a plastic to go container there's no holes in the bottom is that still going to be okay
Are there holes in that container?
Man. Those results look great
Thank you! Cheers!
Excellent, simple directions: thanks. Im going to try this today with a specific supermarket tomato. The strongest, healthiest plants I currently have were self-getminated ones from our hotbin compost. In past years weve had plenty of fruits from random toms appearing in the garden. This year...a somewhat more managed approach is in place😅
Thanks for your appreciation. Good luck with your growing.
This so helpful and thank you !!!
You're so welcome!
Always great vids, especially the painting, love this channel, thanks for all you do..
Thank you very much for your kind words! Keep safe.
Thank you
You're welcome
Watching him cut the tomatoes gave me anxiety
Do not worry - I was in full control!😂 Keep safe.
Same lol
omg me tooo !!!! whatttt 😅
@@LearnHow2 full control?? Lol the tomato literally slipped... Which is why you don't cut anything that way...
Thanks great info!!
Glad it was helpful! Keep safe.
I did this and I now have 11 baby tomato plants and they're all THRIVING in their new pots in my garden 😅😅❤❤
Do you have to put in bigger pots as they grow?
That's great to hear!
Yes you do.
Thank you!
You're welcome! Keep safe.
Was compost wet when seeds first planted and covered. Thanks and God Bless
No wet but damp
Do they have to be outside?
HI, thanks for the video, here is my question, I have many 30gal pots with good soil and healthy vegatable plants,,,,what I do is I dont eat the egg yolks, so I put the yolks and the shells in a large bowl and mix it with water, go outside and water it in the plants, Do you see any issues with doing it this way as its not really composted, but watered in AND how often can I feed like this if you feel its healthy for the plants? TY again
Just planted two days ago and the tomatoes slices are molding. Is this normal?
Can we continue growing the tomatoes indoor? Should we switch them into a bigger pot? Thank you!
Yes and yes! Keep safe.
do you need to keep watering when it's under the plastic film or let it be? Thanks!
Hi Jenaina. They should not need watering when under plastic but water if the soil starts to look dry. Keep safe.
For any other Americans watching, 20-25 degrees Celsius is 68-77 degrees Fahrenheit. 🥲😆
Thank you for clarifying. Keep safe.
🥹 thank you 🙏👌🏼😅
Thank you
Good looking out lol
Why don’t you just use metric
Do you water the seeds during the germination?
Hi Jitka. Yes - keep them moist but not soaking wet. Keep safe.
@LearnHow2 this would have been nice to include in the video.
will these produce fruit or just leaves?
It will produce fruits
I enjoyed the video, except when you slipped with the knife a little bit cutting the tomato.
I saw your comment before watching the video. Made me laugh when I saw it slip 🤣☺️
Ha ha! Dont worry Michael, the reason the knife slipped was because it wasnt very sharp so I was not in any danger.
😂😂😂😂😂
Is potting out into individual seedlings necessary?
Definitely. Otherwise the plants crowd each other out, completing for nutrients, water, light etc and will not grow very strongly.
@@LearnHow2 what compost do you use? where to buy or how to make it?
Are those store bought cherry tomatoes hybrids? Will they taste the same when the tomatoes ripen?
Can you tell me if I can other veg using the same method please
Most GMO fruit and veggies from the store will grow a green plant but produce no fruit or veggies. I've tried with peppers and tomatoes. Maybe others have better luck.
Hi Tina. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Interesting I've grown store bought GMO peppers, serrano, sweet pepper and habeneros. Maybe give it another go and cut back on nitrogen fertilizer. To much nitrogen will cause plants to not produce fruit or not many.
Go to farmers market
Damn GMO's! 😡
will this work with potting soil instead?
Yes it will.
What will happen when we place them directly into sunlight?
Providing the plant has a good root system and is watered regularly it should be ok.
👌💕
👍👍
Do they need direct sunlight or not?
For the first few weeks placing them in a window seal will do the trick. After that, they need a good 8-9 hours a day in sunlight.
Does it require a proper soil mixture or garden soil with fertile works
my seeds germinated within 2 days. is that normal?
Its very quick but ok.
Can one plant directly into a pot?
Yes you can.
I’m sure these will root, but if they are hybrids there is no guarantee you will get the same type of tomatoes.,
Dude. Sharpen and strop your knife! Next when you harvest and make a blt, we are going to watch a video where you get your finger sewn back together
You haven’t clarified, if they’re store bought tomatoes, it’s very unlikely you’ll get any fruit. You’ll grow a plant, but highly unlikely actual fruit. Follow up video?
They'll grow if you buy REAL ones. Avoid Bill Gates GMO'd store bought tomatoes.
Store bought taste like nothing and are usually very mealy, why use those? Use an heirloom or something you've propagated from seed that you love the taste of!
i don't see any tomatoes on that plant.
i followed this video and wasted months wondering why my plant wasn't flowering. turns out store bought tomatoes are horrible for growing.
Best to buy organic
Sorry to hear that - I didnt know.
@@LearnHow2 yeah...
to expand on why: they are not a 'heirloom' tomato. stores sell 'hybrid' tomatoes.
hybrids are a combination of two varieties of tomato, typically one with good eating characteristics and one resistant to disease. the ones developed for commercial tomato growers are heavy bearers, and very resistant to the tomato diseases that are a problem where they are grown. that’s the advantage of hybrids. the disadvantage is, you can’t save seed. the seed does not grow and produce a plant like the one it came from. if it grows at all [many hybrids are sterile] it grows into a plant more like one of its grandparents. maybe with the potential to grow big yummy tomatoes, but so vulnerable to disease the plant will die before it really gets started at all. maybe it grows just fine, but produces a million tiny tomatoes just full of seeds. whatever it does, it won’t produce anything like the tomato you bought at the store.
@@LearnHow2what
😅
That is peat moss not compost.
Anyone else scared for his fingers?
Dont worry the knife was not very sharp. It would cut a tomato but not skin.
Me 🤣
The faffing with the plastic was painful
😂😂😂
Sharpen your knife pards...
😂
👌👍💐
