- I'm not sure why the writers thought it was a smart idea to make soo jin the villain. She had so much potential and was one of my favorites characters.

I honestly still like her , she was being abused at home and no one really cared and the only person that cared for her liked some one else
But it wasn't Ju Kyung's fault though, Soojin was the one who unfortunately realized her feelings only when Suho and Ju Kyung has already fallen for each other. Even though she did know Suho way longer, but she also only got to know him better and realized he has a caring side after he comforted her that one time. But most importantly at the end of the day, she just can't force Suho to like her no matter what. Whatever Soojin did to Ju Kyung was indeed wrong and inexcusable, but I also never really hated her because she is one of my favourite characters, so I'm just glad that she finally got her redemption and reconciled with Ju Kyung in the end.
But ju kyung didn’t steal him.
Ummm a girl if by gir u mean her bestfriend who was nothing but kind and loving to her and let’s not forget that the guy she liked was already in the relationship with her bestie when she started to like him. And what she did was share her secret which she knew had made her be bullied which caused her so many self esteem issues. Yes I feel bad because she was abused but that wasn’t an excuse, anyways I’m glad she changed now.

I don’t trust the People who absolutely hate her. That’s not the typical girl stealing the boyfriend or smth. She has actual trauma, so pls. Hate what’s she’s doing but feel sorry for her or try to understand her
I think her character was the best one in the drama. Her parts were always interesting to watch and never boring.
She just took the wrong pathway and nobody noticed it. She was mentally abused by her father and he used to hit her, so she grew up without knowing what love was. The only love that she felt was towards Suho because he kind of understood her and he knew what she was going through, so she tried to keep him close but she pushed him away. At some point I think she regretted, but she couldn't get her friends and her life back because she thought that a simple sorry wasn't enough... She sticked till the end to her goal and she never lied about her love and that was the price she had to pay.

And then she came back to Korea, where she also stood up for Jugyeong one day when someone was yelling at her due to work problems, after that they went to a café and talked about the past and Soojin also apologized to her, and yeah they basically cleared everything. And all in all, Soojin feels better mentally, from what we've seen at the end^^
though she still deserved more
I hate when people said she showed her "true colors." Ummm no. Your character is defined by a pattern of behavior, not one isolated incident. She was holding a lot of pain inside and she in a horrible mental state did something that she regretted a lot. I always loved her and I'm happy she found peace in her life at the end.

Soojin is the reason why Ju Kyung became more confident and showed up whos the real ju kyung without make up. I didn’t hate Soojin for what she did.

Yes, I understand her and I do feel bad but she knows what it's like to be hurt over and over again, yet she did all those bad things *knowing* that it would hurt another person. She *chose* to do that. Just because you never disliked her, it doesn't mean you have to tell other people to be like that as well, everyone has different opinions.

@@m-michelle863 Jugyeong didn't steal away Suho though? Suho started developing feelings for her and naturally, she started developing feelings back. She didn't steal him, Suho didn't even know about Soojin's feelings when he started dating Jugyeong. So no, she didn't steal him away, even if Jugyeong and Suho weren't dating, Suho wouldn't have dated Soojin because he didn't have feelings for her at all. Again, Soojin was the one that faced trauma yet she still knowingly hurt another person and she chose to do that, she was in her right mind when she did it. She even knew about Jugyeong's bare face and knew about her bullies, but she still did it. I'm glad she apologized but just because she had trauma, it doesn't mean she had to hurt another person like that.
So I don't really like how her character was written in many ways. I don't like the narrative that girls lose a friendship over a guy. I also am not a fan that her behavior was glossed over as just a typical jealous mean girl. Like Soojin was getting physically and mentally abused at home. Her father is sexist with anger issues and her mother didn't seem to think anything was wrong with his parenting. Suho apparently knew about this for a long time and never seemed to have even ask about her well-being even before JG got in the picture. I mean just being a friend that can listen and be a shoulder to cry on would have helped. I don't excuse her behavior nor what she did because it was her choice to do it, but hurt people hurt people. Soojin started taking out her issues on her hands then other people. And I honestly feel if Suho had looked out for Soojin more knowing about her home situation and encouraged her to confide in others about it she wouldn't have went so far off the deep in. I hope she gets some kind of redemption with her home and old friends.
Omg yesss I don’t know why kdrama writers always need to have a mean girl. Like can’t we have 3 supportive best friends. But no, they decided to ruin her character and paint her as the bad guy.
@@Mozzaphne well to be fair in the original webtoon Soojin was the bad guy from the start and only pretended to be friends with Jugyeong to ruin her. So it makes sense they would do that. I actually think they made her a lot more interesting and dimensional in the drama. But yeah this trend in kdramas is def annoying.

@@forwoo9821 I’ve watched many dramas w 3/2/4 supportive best friends and it turned out well (be melodramatic, age of youth, a love so beautiful, city couples way of love, go back couple, the beauty inside, the secret life of my sec, boys over flowers and so much more) They definitely pulled it off while finding other sources of climax. What I’m trying to say is that the writer is hopping on the cliche plot of sacrificing their friendship instead of exploring individuality like the writers of the other shows did. Had she done that, there would have been a surplus of events to use as climax.

people say that soojin is a bad person but they don't understand that she never had a loving family or a seojun and suho to save her from her father's violence. She is just a girl who had never received love from anyone and ended up predicting herself in this toxic relationship with suho, she’s not just a cliché character in a drama, but the reflection of many girls who live this reality

What a cruel world for Soojin to live in 🥺😢😭 from the start I was eyeing on her because of Yoonas power in portraying the characters emotions so well and it hurts me watching everyone hating her for that, I know she did something wrong but what can you expect from a girl who is expected to be strong no matter how bad she felt and no matter how pressured she is with her family and with her personal life.
I can never picture any actress in Soojins character.

I want a spin off with sujin as the main character. I just feel like we never got her closure. Yes, she appeared in the last episode and she said sorry, but what happened to HER during that time? What did she go through? Did she face everything alone after moving out of her abusive household? Her character developed, but we missed the entire middle part. All because she wasn’t the main character in this story. But I wanted her to be 🥺✨

She's so cool! Girl Crush indeed. I love her personality, an example of strong and independent woman. She's also a good friend, she adore and protects her friends but sadly she had ruined their friendship just because of a guy. She has issues with her family especially her father and Suho is her only guy friend and for 10 long years, but he has fallen in love with her friend which is Jugyeong.

soojin remained strong throughout all the family abuse she had to deal with in the first part of the show , standing up against jugyeong bullies and trying everything to beat lee soo ho in class. nobody understood her struggles and she kept putting up her strong front and helped the others in need even though she was internally breaking down.
lee soo ho was her ONLY pillar of support , she don’t love him she needs him. that’s why she became possessive over him & chose to turn her back on every other person including her own bestfriend jugyeong, where everything escalated . since she lost her will to continue fighting, she ended up hurting everyone and lost herself from here on.
I must say, Im the most impressed of the way Seojun and soojin s characters were made IN THE DRAMA. Seojun isnt the evil rude boy but respectful to women and nontoxic. Soojin...she was a really strong character. We saw how she felt, why she went wrong, how she went through it and how she got out of the bad phase. This drama has hands down my fav sub-leads till now.

This MV depicts Soojin's emotions and internal struggles really well. Soojin is one of my favourite characters because she was a cool, smart and badass girl crush, but she was unfortunately ruined by the writers the moment they turned her into a pathetic jealous girl who intentionally hurts her best friend over a guy. Her toxic behaviour towards Ju Kyung was inexcusable because exposing someone's weaknesses to others is one of the lowest things that you can do, especially towards your best friend, however I still couldn't bring myself to hate her totally. I could understand Soojin's pain, and I felt like hitting her father myself whenever he hits her. The part where Soojin said she didn't feel sorry at all to Ju Kyung and Suho, and when she broke down crying after rejecting Ju Kyung who reached out to her first, just really broke my heart. I loved their friendship a lot, and it was obvious she sincerely treated Ju Kyung as a friend before she did those horrible things, so I just desperately wanted Soojin to get proper redemption and reconcile with Ju Kyung again. And I'm glad she not only got her redemption with Ju Kyung, she's also finally free from her horrible abusive father while doing what makes her happy in the last episode.

Soojin is such a lead material, no hate towards Jukyeong but her character was so boring, She had no character development at all through out the whole show. In my opinion in this drama the 2nd lead outshined the main ones, I came to watch the drama for Eunwoo but through out the whole show I had no interest in his character whatsoever but on the other hand Han Seojun was just so good fell in love with him instantly. Both 2nd leads are just so powerful, charming, confident and savage.

I still love her so much. I'm just really mad that no one was there for her and she's losing everything, even her own family's care for her. It's still wrong for her to ruin someone else's life though, but she was treated wrong so it makes sense.

I relate to her so much- grades are also everything to me, my dad gave me PTSD (yes I am diagnosed) and I lost almost everyone dear to me. I did dislike the fact that she took revenge though, I get where she's coming from, but there is no reason to hurt someone else when youre hurting too. Thats why I am so happy she changed, she's much healthier now but still as amazing as before

My favorite character after Seojun, I really don't know how some people hate her, if you love someone ten years ago and someone comes in a short time to take your secret lover, you will definitely hate him and be jealous of him, don't pretend to be stupid.

Such a great story she had. When you go through things at home and nothing seems right, like your not good enough no matter how hard you try, you tend to lose yourself. Then all the sudden your in a place in your life that you don't know how you got there and you feel like you can't go back. Like your to deep. She just went down the wrong path. I love her story and I hope they make a second season of true beauty about her.

She’s truly one of my favorite characters of any Kdrama or webtoon. Her growth is just incredible to me. She went from being everybody’s least favorite, to the character everyone loved and wanted to hug. I don’t think what she did in the past was right, but she was going through hell. And she’s a good person now.

She felt jealous and angry and she didn't know how to deal with her emotions. On top of that I don't think she was treated that well by Suho. I think that more than love or like, what she felt toward Suho was actually jealousy. She wanted what he had, but she mistook that for wanting him and thought of it as love/like. In any case, Soojin deserved a better ending because she had so much more scope to her character than what was shown. If they ever do a season 2, (which they probably won't because it was originally a webtoon) I hope they do her character justice.

Honestly i like her better than jugyeong since she has been through a lot of bad things than jugyeong. Even though she works hard (jugyeong doesnt) to earn a good grade she gets violent behavior from her dad (she looks so lonely and tired). She certainly deserves a man better than suho.

she's honestly my favourite even without watching this show I can understand the feeling of being pressured or constantly being compared to someone, in love there's always a prize to her that was suho but there also a winner and loser she lost and she felt really horrible.
To me, i still stand for Soo Jin. Altho the things she did was not the "right" thing. But have it ever occur to you, who teach her how to live? It was not her parents it was Suho. That is why she tried her best to keep what she only have. (Suho) Even if it is not the "right" way.

In my perspective, she didn't choose to be evil, her dad was abusive, the only person who knew about it (suho) fell for her best friend (jugyeong) which made her envy jugyeong and jealousy is what makes most people do bad things because it makes them feel better
But then she realized that she lost everyone and was in pain alone

She's actually quite pure, and i dont think anyone should hate her for what she did obviously she wasn't happy with her own personal life and she needed to fix it, whether not its admitted by her and she thought that person was suho who could fix it but it was never him to begin with so yeah i believe both soojin and seojun deserve a happy ending.
