Back in mid 1980's through 1999, I worked in and around Detroit, MI. I had deal with some of toughest there are in Detroit 5 days a week, but not in Law Enforcement, l was a Build Inspector for Insurance Corporations. I am not an American of African decent, l am an American of Cherokee and German Amish decent. I never once had an issue arise with any resident in Detroit ever. I have been completely inspired by this Paster and America needs more like him and l am not even a Christian, but l am a traditional Cherokee with strong beliefs in God and this pastor is truly a gift from God.

I went there in 2019 and it was much scarier than the parts of the southern US, including Mississippi that I'd been in. Until recently many houses were abandoned and used as drug dens. So much of downtown had been vacant and decrepit the years before, which is why I went when things were getting better.

My high school capacity was 2980 and instead had 4160 some odd students in it. It was mixed race and largely controlled by cartels and often visited by Crip/Blood , gang violence. Often teens would hang out in abandoned houses and do drugs , drink or have sex. I still managed to grow up without giving those around me the impression that I though differently of people based on socioeconomic standing or especially color. The guy I responded to did a very poor job of exactly that. Forgive me for listening to the well to do, advantaged, fellow white skinned americans whine about how things are worse wherever. leaning into race about it, and then becoming angry over what they've said. However in this case I wasn't angry I was just calling weak and pathetic, weak and pathetic.

Hello Jewish Fam. I'm Catholic and back around Thanksgiving our priest gave us such a beautiful homily. He reminded us that our beautiful religion was built on the foundation of Judaism. The woman all Catholic women look up to, the woman we all wish to emulate, the woman we ask to pray along with us, the woman we call our Blessed Mother, is in fact a Jewish woman. The Jewish people are our family. ~I hesitate here, not knowing after these beautiful words if I should tell you how he finished up. Well, it was something along the lines of, when you see someone coming to attack the Jewish side of our family, please understand that we are next! Then silence while we digested the homily. As we were beginning our advent season we sang "Oh come, O come emmanuel". Barely a dry eye in the house...some loudly crying. I know I was forced to blow my nose on my sweater sleeve. It happens, I've since gotten better about having some tissue in my bag. I know it's July but now that I have it on my mind, I'm going to youtube to listen. At our advent singing we sang the first verse with our voices only...no piano. Here on TH-cam therecis a young girl who stumbled into a church in Spain and sang the first verse. She has turned that viral video song into the full version. Back in mid 1980's through 1999, I worked in and around Detroit, MI. I had deal with some of toughest there are in Detroit 5 days a week, but not in Law Enforcement, l was a Build Inspector for Insurance Corporations. I am not an American of African decent, l am an American of Cherokee and German Amish decent. I never once had an issue arise with any resident in Detroit ever. I have been completely inspired by this Paster and America needs more like him and l am not even a Christian, but l am a traditional Cherokee with strong beliefs in God and this pastor is truly a gift from God.

I went there in 2019 and it was much scarier than the parts of the southern US, including Mississippi that I'd been in. Until recently many houses were abandoned and used as drug dens. So much of downtown had been vacant and decrepit the years before, which is why I went when things were getting better.
@@MsBhappy I do understand that. I've grown up in and lived in some rough places. Everyone I knew in my youth was in a gang or a skateboard riding , loitering, drug user. My high school capacity was 2980 and instead had 4160 some odd students in it.
It was mixed race and largely controlled by cartels and often visited by Crip/Blood , gang violence.
Often teens would hang out in abandoned houses and do drugs , drink or have sex.
I still managed to grow up without giving those around me the impression that I though differently of people based on socioeconomic standing or especially color. The guy I responded to did a very poor job of exactly that.

Hello Jewish Fam. I'm Catholic and back around Thanksgiving our priest gave us such a beautiful homily. He reminded us that our beautiful religion was built on the foundation of Judaism. The woman all Catholic women look up to, the woman we all wish to emulate, the woman we ask to pray along with us, the woman we call our Blessed Mother, is in fact a Jewish woman. The Jewish people are our family. ~I hesitate here, not knowing after these beautiful words if I should tell you how he finished up. Well, it was something along the lines of, when you see someone coming to attack the Jewish side of our family, please understand that we are next! Then silence while we digested the homily. As we were beginning our advent season we sang "Oh come, O come emmanuel". Barely a dry eye in the house...some loudly crying. I know I was forced to blow my nose on my sweater sleeve. It happens, I've since gotten better about having some tissue in my bag. I know it's July but now that I have it on my mind, I'm going to youtube to listen. At our advent singing we sang the first verse with our voices only...no piano. Here on TH-cam therecis a young girl who stumbled into a church in Spain and sang the first verse. She has turned that viral video song into the full version.
