it would be better if there is a scale of stiffness for all the fins. all these tec fins has similar looks, but the stiffness is really diffrent from brand to brand. the Apeks RK3 is the most soft tech fins I've ever tried. I dive in tropical waters, and the Deep6 tech fins are my favorite because it's light weight and also stiff enough.
These new F. Element fins are definitely interesting & tempting to buy BUT at a 3Kg weight for XXL ( 6.6 lbs ) is a tad bit too much compared to my OMS slipstreams. Only if they were lighter 😵💫
Today at the Pool I managed to Break a set of Sherwood Elite Heel Strap Fins. Where the Foot Pocket meets the Blade. Sad thing is, I just bought them about 2 Months ago. I swim in a Salt Water Pool. Always Rinse off in the shower afterwards. Do they make a Fin that Lasts? I've been Averaging 6+ Miles per week. Last week I did 7.
Hello. Not sur if you covered this? What is the Pros and Cons of a Tech Fin vs Longer models? Currently I am using Sherwood Elite Strap Fins. Saw they have the Triton Series.
advantages of short fins: -they are compact, for example for wrecks penetration or cave -it is easier to pack smaller fins for the trip -they are better for helicopter turns or frog kick -they are indestructible Cons of short fins: -they can be expensive Jet fins - 150 - 200 € Fourth element tech - 165 € Mares power plana - 160 € Apeks are cheeper you can find them for 100 €
@@scubacro5758 Thank you. I remember when I broke a pair of Deep Sea Aqua Glide. Then started using the Sherwood Elite. I di feel the "Burn" in my legs switching to a Longer fin.
Can someone comment on the stiffness compared to the RK3s and RK3 HDs? I've gone back and forth between the two RK3 models so if the stiffness of these is between the two and still slightly negative, they may be a good fit for me. Also, can someone speak to the foot pocket when it comes to foot width? I have wide feet. Thanks in advance!
If they're any good you shouldn't have to worry about them being recyclable at "end of life". And yeah RK3 clone, love mine, blah blah blah...except the pull tab on the Apeks is shit, no hole sucks balls!!!
Just did a dive with these in Nova Scotia and was really impressed. Sooo much lighter than my OG jet fins.
Very nice fins but are almost identical to RK3s (as others have mentioned). That’s not a bad thing though, I love my RK3s

Along with what scuba cro said, they're pretty darn firm which which helps with efficiency and control.

Yep and Apeks look like a clone of Jets, so what?
