9:13 is a great time, but typically 8:45 is what takes it in the championship. Being from the US, I hope for UC, but think Edwin Allen will likely take it in the finals.
Maybe should have saved the "Massive Comeback" for the Finals that really counted. The Winner is Edwin Allen, the team caught in the heats! Massive Victory!

Never chase when you’re running… if you’re a head push yourself to gain distance, then moment you lose your composure because someone ran passing you and you try to suddenly challenge 😂 that’s where you’re going to exhausted yourself it’s like shocking your .

Why is 4x800 ran in lane 4?
Penn relays has its own system and shape. The finish is like 3/4th down the track
Lane one on the Penn track is less than 400 meters.
Lane 4 is actually 400 meters, hence the 4x400 and 4x 800 are run in lane four.
So lane 4 represents lane one on a regular track....

@@latiaharrison4662 Don't worry we been flying over and dominating Penn Relays forever, its just a heat.
The track at Franklin Field originally had lane 4 as lane 1, but as the Penn relays grew they added more lanes on the inside (they couldn't go outside which is what is usually done and move the wall and the stands because it's a very old heritage site), so the inside lanes do not make a full 400m. Hence, they still run those distance relays in the original lane 1 (which is now lane 4)
Most importantly, students get into high schools by passing exams and not recruited.

Amazing!! Looks like Union Catholic has another Sydney McLaughlin... I don't know the young lady, but she appears bi-racial as well. Does UC recruit these thoroughbreds (like the JA schools) or is the coaching that good?
Just a little perspective - Jamaica is a population of 3 million people. In the 4100 and the 4 x 400 6 of the top 8 teams will probably be Jamaican.
@@paulb8667 Yep, I’m born and raised West Indian - late 60’s kid so I had a proper education on the isles all the way through University. If you process my point is that school, UC is only 1 school - not a state nor country, yet out of the thousands of American HS they seem to have a knack for landing a certain female talent. Think about it, Jamaica has dozens - I mean dozens of high schools, yet still the same 4 to 6 schools routinely top the standings. Is that coincidence or do those schools seek out the top athletes across the island. It’s incomprehensible for anyone to assume top Jamaica athletes only come from certain geographic areas of the island and aren’t randomly dispersed.
@@tascrphs Good point. The schools chasing the high school championship in Jamaica recruit athletes. Not all schools do recruiting.
@@barrybel8168 - thanks. I appreciate the insightful response. So these JA schools are quite similar to American HS factories that recruit and attract the top basketball players year after year. As a buddy of mine often says, “it’s not a good thing or bad thing, it’s just so…”
I know Jamaica clearly outranks the U.S. and frankly the world in it’s efficiency to produce world-class sprinters. Akin to Kenya and Ethiopia’s ability to produce distance runners. My original point was about how remarkable it is this runner from tiny Union Catholic HS closely resembles their prior star Sydney McLaughlin.

nah. struggled for 3rd. Their 2nd leg bus trying to keep up with Edwin. they fell back and anchor brought them to 3rd.
