Excellent teaching, great background info for the piece, making the complex very simple!
I can finally play this thanks to your guidance.
Very pleasant tutorial - Good job 👏! Very helpful with details
I play this song but came across this video. I love the way you explain your way.
Thank you!❤
Passacaglia is my all time most favorite music ever written! I never get tired of listening to it, any variation! ❤❤❤
Excellent tutorial Louise ❤🙏
Thank you❤
Beautifully done!! Thank you for all the background information, lesson on techniques and expressions.
Great Lesson🎹🎼♪So beautiful music🥰❤️Thank you dear Louise💐🎀
I am glad I found you. Very good lesson. Thank you very much.
Thank you so much. I’m happy it was helpful ❤
Thank you for the wonderful tips on touch, "variation" and ornamentation! I'm an adult intermediate student, and this is my for fun/non lesson challenge piece I started a couple days ago. It's a challenge to learn to play the bass & treble patterns together, but it's just a matter of practice, patience and muscle memory. Like scales, the less I think about it, the easier it is to play. I've found comfort playing the bass line as 5-5-2-3-1-3-2-3 instead of 5-1- etc. Do you think that's okay? I'm not sure I'm skilled enough to do the left hand hopping you're doing.
You are soooo good at demonstration and explaining all these musical elements in detail as well as the story / history behind which makes the piece more interesting!
You’re very kind Wei-thank you❤
Thank you for a wonderful lesson. You explain everything so clearly and your passion for the music comes through so well.
Thank you SO much ❤
Many thanks - a brilliant tutorial on how to play this lovely piece.
You are AMAZING!!! And beautiful too.
Thank you
Very good teacher, going beyond just the notes/fingering. Do not understand you have less then 10k subscribers...
Thank you for the lovely comment! Really nice to hear that. I appreciate it💖. The tutorials are starting to gain some traction so hopefully the channel will grow. 👍
Thank you for the Passacaglia tutorial!😍😍😍I really want to play it someday!
I’m happy you want to play it ❤
Thank you so much for the lesson. This is the most insightful lesson I have watched for this piece. And the way you play it is absolutely beautiful.
Wow, thank you! I'm so happy to read your comment.💜
Wow! I’m new at learning piano and the way you present this material is awesome. With you explaining in details, not only the technique, but also emotions this piece can create is great. And lastly, seeing the keyboard and fingers placement is so helpful. Thank you for taking that piece apart so brilliantly. I can read music so, I’m giving myself three weeks to memorize it and play it with a certain ease. Thank you again.
Fantastic!! How are you getting on? Thank you for your amazing comment and happy playing ❤
Thank you for a wonderful vital lesson😍🥰
Thank you so much💖
Amazing teaching btw. Top notch in every way.
Aww that’s super kind - thank you
Thank you so much for your wonderful teaching, guidelines, and notions..
Extremely helpful and inspiring. I lost my brother a few months ago, and it is a custom in our culture to express a memorial after a year of passing away of our Dear ones... and I intend to perform this piece for him .. in all the performances I heard... yours is very emotional as well as classical... thank you again . 💓❤
Your technique is so brilliant, and your pedaling on the original piece is so perfect. It is definitely a very advance piece, and you are very professional player. thanks
Thank you ❤
Thank you very much for the lesson, the fingering, the dynamics, the hand techniques, the history of the song. The insights on the left hand make up will help me learn this piece quicker than me reading every note. I’m hopeful i can learn this piece and memorize it too! ❤
So happy it’s helped❤
I just have to say that you have a gift in teaching. You're definitely born to be a music teacher! I really admire your patience in teaching us the technique to play this piece and explaining the character of the piece. You also went through section by section while teaching us how to play this piece of music. This is indeed a lovely classical piece of music and I love listening to this tune. Brilliant work there, Louise! More tutorials, please!
Wow thank you so much Ronald….that’s super encouraging. ❤❤❤
You are such a joy to watch and what a great teacher! Thank you 🙏
Thank you SO much ♥️
It’s quite clear you like what you do and are good at it. It’s a tutorial unlike any other I’ve seen on here. Thank you for the explanations and background!

Thank you! I appreciate that feedback so much ❤️
Adorei sua aula professora ! Excelente explicação .Sempre quis tocar essa linda melodia . Muito obrigada 🙏🇧🇷🌷
Great tutorial ❤ Absolutely loved playing this with my best friend as a child. ❤
Thank you so much Rose❤
תודה!
Thank you so much ❤
Thanks for amazing video. I'm a beginner learning this piece for the past few weeks and still looking for the right emphasis of feelings it should have. You really nailed this. The best tutorial I've seen. Thanks again. Nir.
Beautiful explanations! Thank you. I love this piece very much❤️

Amazing tutorial Louise, keep up your work 🙌🔥🫶 have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you❤
Thank you very much for this very clear and easy to follow tutorial. I can't wait to get to the piano and see how it goes.
So happy it was helpful. Let me know how you get on!
This is the best tutorial for this song, however I recommend changing the title because your video won’t shows up unless I include the phrase ’how to play ‘ when I search
Thank you for that information! The video is getting pushed out a little bit at the moment but when that settles I’ll definitely look at changing the title. Really appreciate your input!
Fantastic
Thanks❤
These are based on my 2006 and 2009 variations I made for youtube. I also published a PDF sheet music and MIDI file during that time, as I got a lot of request at the time. Suddenly became a thing again here at TH-cam and Tiktok the last two years or so.
Hi, where can i find that pdf?
Wow I’m so happy to read your comment. Do you have a link to the original videos that I could share in the description? ❤
Thank you for the wonderful lesson video 😊 By shooting from directly above, I was able to clearly see and visualize how various parts of the keyboard are being played.
Although the sheet music is packed with notes, it was easy to understand the flow of the song thanks to the chord names read out loud. This song has a really nice melody, so I'd like to play it someday ♫ Thank you, dear Louise 🥰
Thank you dear Chiekot. I hope you play it ❤
That was really helpful. I just started learning this last week and I was using a different fingering for the left hand. I think yours is better so I’m going to switch and re-learn it that way if I can. Subscribed! 😊
How are you getting on? I’m really happy it’s helped! Let me know if you have a suggestion for a tutorial❤
Hope the piece is going well! Thank you for your lovely comment and happy playing 💜
@@PianoAngelicus Yeah, it’s coming on pretty well thanks. I’ve relearned the left hand fingering the way you described and I’m glad I did. However, in measure 35, I tried using the 2-1 fingering you suggested for the repeated C, repeated B etc and it just didn’t work for me! I see the logic but it reduced my accuracy of reaching up to the octave with my finger 5, so I’m sticking with 1-1 for those repeated notes. I look forward to browsing some of your other tutorials. Thanks very much!
@@PianoAngelicus Do you have a tutorial for Ballade Pour Adeline? I saw you play a lovely Short video. Thanks.
Fantastic tutorial Louise 🎹🎶👏
Thank you❤
So awesome you share your knowledge dear one... you so got me motivated to try it out... such a lovely piece and great guidance 🙏🌹
Thank you for such a lovely comment❤
Thank you for the wonderful lesson video💛
I studied in my own way by looking at Louise's hand movements, facial expressions and sheet music.
Even so, I forgot to listen to the lesson because the tone of piano was so beautiful😊
Aww thank you for such lovely words❤❤ I appreciate it so much
lovely tutorial. Kinda hard to catch all the fingering as you play quickly. Perhaps show it on the sheet music.
Hi, that’s a great suggestion. If it helps I can post pictures of the sheet with fingering on my community tab. Is it just left hand fingering pattern you’re interested in or the whole piece?
Thank you so much for such a deep expression of this wonderful piece of music. I was so deeply touch by the melody and the arrangement of Halvorsen. Your performance on this video every time you played the melody made me cry how deep you expressed this piece. I watched your video of the total performance> The most beautiful version in TH-cam. Thank you so much!
Thank you SO much for your amazing comment. I appreciate it so much. All best wishes, Louise 💜
Excellent tutorial!!!! I might need to put a bit of this tune into a thing.... 🤔
Now that would be fun…..👍👍👍
What a great video. Passacaglia is an italian work. I love this lesson . I had difficulty with the basss note in the left hsnd and just avoided playing it
Thank you so much ❤
Really hope it’s helped❤
Hello Dear my good friend ⚘️ Your nice video make me happy Thanks 🎵 Today have a good time and great job 🎵
Thank you❤
You are a very good teacher, you simplify it , and make things clear, if I only had another life in this world I would master the piano
Could you make a tutorial about using the pedal. May be
That’s a great idea. Let me know if you have any specific questions/areas you’d like me to cover 💖
I will
Well this is brilliant, but first I need a piano!!! (what movie had I heard this piece in???)❤❤❤
Oooh yes get a piano!!! Not sure but it’s definitely been used in a movie ❤
I just realized this song shares the same bass line as “A town with an ocean view” by Miyazaki’s Kiki’s Delivery Service
allegiances
👏👏👏👏👏
