    Hi Travis.
    Many thanks for the video.
Do you know how to add more than one inverter to the datalogger ?
Most of the sellers of the stick have that information in their product description an dit is noted in the manual of the stick too.
But it seems like nobody really knows how to do that.
Further I would like to know if the option to retrieve data over Port 8899 is still possible with the new version.
With th old version it was.

Hello, I have a Solis S6 inverter and I'm interested in what the interface designation DRM stands for. A network cable fits in there. What is the function of this connection on the inverter?

  • @verite3319
    @verite3319 ปีที่แล้ว

What is the range of the Wifi stick? Ask because the Solis S6 inverter was installed in the garden shed and is about 10 - 12 m away from the router.

This is brilliant - I am confused by the instructions in the datalogger box at Step 7, where it says "after that return to APP". I'm in the app at this point so if I return I'm redoing everything I just did. Watching the video, it seems I came unstuck where the instructions say "Browser Configuration (recommended)", while the video says "One-click Distribution" (my screen says something else but actually it's the option below Browser Configuration that takes you to the screen where you can enter your home wifi password.
The setup procedure is conditional on the inverter being active (big green LED on the control panel), and since the solar PV stopped generating my inverter shut down - need to wait until tomorrow and have another go.

terrible video. He has not rehearsed this and stumbles over the most important steps, confusing instructions. I am still unable to complete this vital task. Please Solis, get a professional to do this video and make it comprehensible. And when you do it, take the personal photos off the phone being used.

I have the old style datalogger and was using the Solis Home app without a problem. However, this server appears to have now been decommissioned so I have now installed the Soliscloud app, created a plant, added the datalogger and then connected the datalogger to the router via the app. The datalogger has logged on to the network but no data is being sent to Soliscloud. Is their an IP configuration change I need to make?

My inverter was installed on Wednesday and having the same problem as everyone else. The main issue is that the app they show you how to do things with, is not the same layout or wording as the app I have. I have version 1.3.4. Is this correct, or is there a different version. On top of my installer who didn't have a clue about how to set it up, all in all very poor.

My Solis setup migrated from Solis Home to Solis Cloud, but that never worked properly. Now if I try to add a datalogger, the app says it's bound to a different plant. After resetting completely the account (delete and create again), the error persists, so the datalogger must be bound to a ghost plant now due to migration failure. Is there a way to unbind the datalogger through support and bind again?

What about the old style logger? I get stuck at "Connect to Router" - I don't get the "one click" option at all. At this point am I connecting to the logger device or my broadband router? If I click "connect to router" I am taken to Apple settings for Soliscloud. On the old data logger, do I just disconnect it to reset? This video was no help at all!

Exactly I have spent a whole week since I had my new router trying to set it up. Even spoke to someone from Solis who kept referring to a reset button but I have no such button. I am not an engineer and updating my WiFi router settings should be be made simple. I have found my installer and Solis very unhelpful. Can someone please help?

If this doesn't work you MAY need to disconnect the wifistick from the inverter, for a few mins then reconnect to reset.

Using solis app i scanned the stick serial and its telling me to connect to the stick wifi. I can see the stick wifi but when i click on it its asking me for the stick wifi password. It doesnt accept anything i tried. I also tried that process on android and IOS devices but no luck.

Why not re-do this wifi dongle video and slow it down, make sure you explain everything e.g.. you mention "password" explain fully (yes, it's for your router, I know...) but make it comprehensible. Include info when you find it does not work! That is important, show all the 'gotchas' and ways to solve them. Then you will have done it properly. Solis, please note!

Hi, at this point you have to type in your local routers WIFI Name and your WIFI Access password. So probably you find it labeled on your WIFI router or you have a individual one setted for access to your local WIFI. Imagine the process is similiar like connecting your mobile to your local internet connection. First you have to select the network and than type in the network acces key!

a nightmare to get the datalogger connected to wifi. solis support is not helpful, neither are the manuals or videos. basic to the extreme. installer also difficult to get hold of to get the job finished properly with everything working. no information provided by the installer - begs the question do they even understand this solis solar system? after 4 weeks of perseverance I finally managed to get the datalogger connected and stable. how? bought a separate wifi extender and plugged in an ethernet cable to the only connection I could find on the top of the battery. next issue to sort out is how to actually make any sense of the solis app? what a carry on. whats the point of this solar system if you can't see what you are generating and the data? seems even the installers details need to be typed in to the app. there's a lot of questions to answer which don't seem relevant. otherwise the 'plant' can't be added. looks like even more youtube videos need watching. lots of money shelled out to go green - are we all being had?

Why don’t you cover all the 3 methods in the app and why don’t you give any troubleshooting advice? Only way I was able to reconnect after a router change was after multiple attempts with a windows lap top. On an apple device I couldn't even see the logger wifi connection. Attempts with the app on an Android device ( both via browser and using the direct input option in the app failed multiple times. I had to remove the logger from the inverter mulitple times to get the process to work ( the old IT help desk meme " did you try turning it off and on again ) the logger seema to get stuck in a loop after each failed attempt. The PDF manuals are all out of date ( wrong passwords , wizard set-up option shown no longer exists, the example given for an apple device is I phone 4 ffs, the windows info is XP ). The app offers a blue tooth option but the logger didn't show up as a blue tooth device on my phone so I guess not an option, the app knows what logger I have fitted so why does it show me a non existent connection option?

Try angling the data logger antenna toward the router and move metal obstructions. The 2.4 network needs to be used.
