Go get em Rick.
It's great to see one of the all time greats getting back into motocross simply because of his love for it.
Have fun!!!!
Aonia is one of my favorite tracks in northern Georgia. Love that place.
How can you not love RC, such and amazing career, and still in love with this great sport. What an inspiration and incredible person.
Love RC, good guy, my favorite multi time champion, good supercross analysis, good ambassador for the sport. Just a damned good guy, that RC. love him.
Thats pretty cool.. retired champion just wants to bring back the fun side of racing in his life. High five.
GOAT still has it!
so cool to hear that your just playing moto racer for fun no pressure now .
Great to see you on a bike racing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RC is the GOAT always has been and always will be. gd to see him back and like he says just having fun doing what he loves, riding bikes
Nice episode...love the first 5 seconds!! Well saying he is on of the greatest though...
ya rock up to an amateur race and ricky carmichael is in the line up.what a FML moment that musta been for a few people that day
No kidding. I was implying "think you'd see Stewart (in the future, when he retires) doing anything like this?"
Rc did things on his motorcross bikes no matter the brand that no human alive will ever be able to beat. Think about that for a second. 8 billion people on this planet and the odds are against anyone ever duplicating what Rick carmichael did.. 🔥
This is awesome! Has anyone found the 2nd video?
i dont blame him for going... the reason he wants to do it are really legit if i could afford to just ride my life away even not competing and bring my familly with me and all ride together i would.... no money restriction and just spend the time with the ones i love and do the things i love would be just AMAZING =)
thats a cool video.back to the fun of racing.im glad hes having fun he deserves it.
That would be so freaking awesome, showing up to a qualifier, and oh, well i guess im racing ricky carmichael today!
who the hell cares if he gained weight, he still kicks ass after being retired for 5 years!. Keep Rocking
He lost the weight now
Which really puts in perspective what Dungey is doing right now... should of veen 3rd in moto 2 last weekend after being completely retired for 5 years and 6 Years from outdoors.
when he gets his intensity to where he needs it to last the whole moto at pace, he'll be on the box and at Southwick or Millville is a good chance for a win to get the ball really rolling and full of confidence. He was getting beat anywhere 30 seconds to over a minute thebfirst 3 rounds, then finishes 6 seconds back in round 4 and should of veen on the box..? You don't find nearly a minute of speed in a week, he gained fitness and intensity and knew he could last the moto at that speed. I think he had the speed in the first rounds, he just knew he couldn't last so he'd rather finish 7th at a pace he ciuld maintain the whole moto than hang around 3rd and blow up part way through and fade even further back than 7th. He's so damn smart and in tune wirh his body combined with high race IQ. His style isn't flashy, but it's sure good for saving energy and helps the suspension and chassis work better, that's why he can ride around a set up that's off and adapt. His style also helps him to not lose the front in corners compared to someone like sexton...he's very under appreciated and second all time in 450 outdoor wins and tied wirh Eli with 2nd in 450 outdoor titles. Tied with 3rd for 450 supercross titles with 4 with RV. RC has 5 and McGrath eith 7.... that's legend status to say the least, he doesn't get the respect he deserved, until now.
I REALLY hope he comes back in 2023 for outdoors again after developing a solid base this season. If he can challenge for podiums every moto and race wins at the end, I think he'll give it another go next year to make a run for the title. He'll be fresh without having to race supercross, have all supercross season to do bike testing and riding, then a hard boot camp a month out from outdoors and won't have to shake off 6 years of cobwebs and come in swinging when the top guys only have 2 weeks max of testing and just came off a grueling 17 round series.
If he can challenge for wins towards the end and be that podium guy every weekend again, I honestly think with his consistency that he could get a title next year. Especially with Eli gone and possibly Kenny... which who knows if Kenny can last all year anyway. Jett may move up but I don't see him being consistent enough hisbfirst season on a big bike. Sexton unless things have changed he'll have atleast 1 or 2 big issues a season and give up a lot of points. I just don't see anyone next year being able to beat him in points due to his consistency when hes on his A game from round 1 to 12... I think he could get it done if he just finishes on the box every weekend, not even an overall. If sexton has a dnf and couple off races, you cajt give that many points to Dungey. So yeah, next year it's just Sexton, possibly Kenny but his body will probably give out somewhere in between round 6-8 this year and next if he races and if he does it'll be a new team wirh Jett moving up for 24 and run 3 bikes for outdoors in 23, thats if hes able to get a 1 year deal with HRC for 23. I see them separating and it woulsbt surprise me seeing Kenny retire after outdoors this year or go SX only... so yeah, without Eli snd Ken, it'd be a Dungey Sexton title battle.. Maybe AC, I forget about that guy lol
I thiught Ando was going to be a big player, not looking like it now for a full season outdoors.... does anyone think if Dungey comes back that Sexton will beat him for 12 rounds and stay off the ground enough if Dungey comes back in 23? I honestly don't. He's done it for 4 rounds so far, but a lot of racing to go.. AC may be able to do it, he's come real close once and has the speed, but the dude can't stay healthy for a season so until that changes, he's not a title threat. He's a race threat everytime he lines up though
This is why Ricky is the GOAT. He just loves the sport. Think you'd see Stewart doing anything like this? Not a chance.
Good Guy Ricky Carmichael
Ricky is the Man.......
this was a great vid to watch.
when is part 2 coming out
go jeremy. way to represent mn:)
Carmichael being out there will help the amature build there skills and confidence......or make them consider selling there bike!
NICE! RC
Lol watching this in 2016 is awesome especially when he metioned Jeremy martin the CHAMP!
I about rolled out of my chair at 5:30. LMAO. #699 like a boss
"i had to play catch up for a while"....well he is how it would actually go if he wanted. "well i took the whole shot and laped everyone 6 times"
that would be sick if he got back into racing on a rm 250.. i would go nuts
hes back!!!!!!
yea the goat is back
What size is Roberts helmet?
No doubt.
Though I probably should have phrased it "think you will be seeing Stewart..." to put it in proper future tense
Show ! te best ( ai no EUA também tem triangão nas costas 2 ainda # 443 ) kkk
GOAT life
this is great 2 c rc's racin
Ive Seen a KTM 250 on dyno so how are you going to say they cant more if it was tuned better
thumbs up for bring me the horizon!!
You're right they're very close..but It's very clear you've never ridden a 450 efi if you think the fuel injection isn't noticeable.
good Ricky , why retire? Stay young brother 😊
Can someone tell me what the music is at the start of the video? Thanks all.
Hey Ricky...Your throttle tube sliding off is from YOU not tighting it up...Damn mechanics...Was great seeing you ride, and dont pay any attention to these jerks that are complaoining about you riding. Personaly I think you deserve a few Big macs no and again and again anmd BTW, I got about your size abd didnt do anything to deserve it...CRAP. Good luck Champ.. Mike Collins
funny.Love ya Ricky
Bring me the horizon (:
Is this "feeler" race for a possible comeback ?!?!!?
Sorry man but you're completly wrong. Being fuel injected just means the power is there a little more instant, not noticable though. And it means they can run fresh and clean in wet mud, water etc. Has next to no gain HP wise. Maybe a few HP but nothing drastic. A 250 2 banger will haul ass next to a 450f FI
Look at the numbers the new EFI 450's actually make less HP and torque on the dyno than the earlier carberated bikes. The 2013 CRF450 put's out 51.55 horsepower while the 2006 CRF450 made 55 horsepower, and the 2013 KTM 250sx (2 stroke) makes 50 horsepower using basically 20 year old technology. Due to the big 4's 4 stroke agenda & halting 2 stroke development yes IMHO 4 strokes are more competetive, but the 2 stroke engine is still the better power plant it just needs updated.
I'm a fox head too brother
It's that chubs
This is my opinion "ama must of said if you want to keep that number you have to have so many points" but he needs to get into shape to ride pro's. Just like Dowd he rides one or two national's to keep his #....
I thought they retired his number?
when you're the GOAT, you don't care if some local dood beats you. There's nothing left for you to prove. Unless you get the taste for kickin peoples ass again!!! :-) here's hoping.
I love RC but i think it's a bad descision can't it make is career less good. What do you think no ?
I dared not say it but I thought the same thing
ricky you have gained some weight ever since you retired but still kick ass
Your so wrong if you think about it those 450s that pros ride are making about 65hp a 250 2stroke can make that and more while being lighter and having 200 less cc But to the industry its all about money so they choose 4strokes to make them more money and also the Factory sponsered 250s only make 40-45 hp the 250 2 strokes make 50 stock and they are still lighter its just the money Factor
Running a 2-stroke would be awesome. The GOAT rules. You guys need to lay off the chubby comments.
come back to AMA
He looks kinda short, how tall is he ?
L
Q
Yung Pablo Like 5 9 or somethin
noooo, more like 5'6, that makes him even greater
Yung Pablo tall enough to be the best ever!
fat goat is fast
Nascar~ Not to demanding on the body.
Hey Rick I think that this is awsum, but your in a class of your own,so how was it racing against just yourself, just kidding,I can think that this is just nothing but inspiration for everybody there, and apparently you must really like that track,or just the whole lorrettas was a blurr when you were younger, have fun dude...I'm sure you will...
he doesn't have that number anyway, anyone can take if they have won a national chanpionship
I would shit my pants.
cazzo boh
I love Carmichael but he dose not look in great physical shape...
"That guy on the Kawi...(#699)..." now has a BAD-AZZ story to tell to his grandkids... 'Yup, I ran with and muscled The G.O.A.T. off the track..." Awesome.
egsmith2 I was thinking that,,,shame no one will believe it
could you imagine having RC lined up next to you at a local race?
this guy deserves everything he has nice guys do finish first wow who knew
He comes off nto ect guy now but back in day not so much , lol
Looks like the only triples he has been doing is at Wendy's.
There is a fairly thick Kevlar vest under his Jersey to avoid body cavity punchers in the case of a bike hitting RC in a crash.
Bring n back the Love to Ride Awesome to see Carmichael back on a bike...
@5:28 Dude, you just tripped Jesus..
I ride this track all the time in fact I'm riding the in the morning :) just to think that we have ridden on the same track blows my mind!
i love ya rc you,re a great champion,it,s a royal teat to watch you ride! just have fun bro!!
this is awesome cant wait for more!!!!!!!!!
But, the 450s are a hell of a lot easier to go fast on for longer. Thats why they rule.
i bet when he showed up every one was scared!
2:40 you know he has throttled that poor Suzuki !
i think its unfair that ricky is going to lorettas. its for the upcoming amatuer racers that are looking to become pro and become the future in motocross racing, not retired pro's to come back and show they're still fast. dont get me wrong i love the GOAT, but i think it is a selfish move on his part
Hmm, ok :)
But is his intention to get back into the Pro class? Or does he just want to race amateur?
Nice to see Carmichael Back racing, Always has been a Fav of mine. He's a good guy on the track an off track
Ricky has probably not spent a day on a training program, yet could still out ride bubba today.
So does this mean he has to work his way back to the Pro class?
I'll field that one, when the 450F's got Fuel Injection EVERYTHING CHANGED 250cc 2-Strokes went from being competition for a 450F's to Competition for 250F's...in order to be able to stick with the 450F's on a 2-Stroke, He'd need to have been riding like a Service Honda David Bailey 1986 Championship Inspired Works Honda CR500. That'd stick with a 450F Probably (if you have the over $15,000 one costs)
Awe man, AvenaQuaker - I'm backin your idea man! I would love to see Carmichael come into the pro series and show everyone what a true, raw motocross realy is with the two stroke. I don't care if the four stroke (tractor motor) can hook up better, it ain't the same ..
maybe so, but this is not the 1st year it was up for grabs, it was up for grabs after the first year that he didn't get 25 points which if I remember correctly would have been 2009, and last year or the year before one of the commentators said about it being up for grabs but no one has taken it
nothing better than Ricky Carmichael back racing and BRING ME THE HORIZON!
If you disliked this video something is mentally wrong with you! this is a man the conquered mostly all of his supercross/motocross career that is now retired & is just trying to get back out there and ride and have fun and enjoy life whats wrong with that?
Who gives a fuck if he's a little chubby, this man is the greatest motocross rider, show some respect. He hasn't trained in 5 years of course he's gonna get a little bit bigger
No one in the current generation of racers will take number 4 out of respect for RC. This was the first year it was up for grabs and it went unclaimed.
u shittin me if he dropped a little weight and just rode a little more he'd be smokin those guys...hope he gets to lorettas thatd be so sick to see!
RACE THE RM250! If you're riding for fun, why not? You yourself said you enjoyed the 2 stroke! Everyone would love to see it
They have all classes there.all the plus classes too.i think its great and a treat to everyone to get to see him ride!!!
Rookies. They're always crashing out of the Pro classes!
No, he's obviously just doing this to have fun, like he said, he's racing against younger (and fitter) riders...
Think Ricky needs to start laying off the burgers...
Yawl can say all yawl want about him but he is an ausom racer and could hand all of our asses to us
lol a bit half of it might be the chest protector
Doesnt matter if he used to race pro dude misses it wants to do it again cant blame him
