Alvarez didnt have any assists or goals, so them together isnt exactly deadly. I dont like when they play together on top cause Alvarez usually runs in the same room Haaland does. Its better when Alvarez have a role in the midfield as he did when he came on, and its good to put him on when opposition players are starting to get tired.

It was a massive team effort. Ederson made so many big saves, Ruben Dias was a wall, Nathan Ake and Akanji kept the wingers quiet for the most part. KDB was pivotal till he got subbed. Grealish never lost possession. Bernardo's 4 nutmegs in a row was a highlight other than his goal. Gundo connected everyone in midfield. Rodri was Godri. Stones assisted Haaland, and Haaland assisted Bernardo before scoring his own goal.

Bayern getting rid of Nagelsmann at this stage of the season was one of the stupidest upper management decisions I've ever seen at a big club. Complete arrogance to think that they could simply replace one manager with another and not have any immediate downside, especially when that manager was still in all three competitions.

But did they look better? They've looked poor with Álvares too. He started the FAcup Lost to Southampton where the team looked awful. KDB was out of form and that's why the team looked poor. He's regained form and that's why they look great. City only have 2 creative players in the team, Kev and Gundo. When 1 is bad it really hurts the team. In the past they also had Cancelo, so if 1 was bad there was still 2 others. Now all the weight falls to 1 player.

I always wanted to see Bayern vs mancity but either of them Would end up committing harakiri and get knocked out before... But finally it happened and it turned out to be a flop show... Since bayern totally got outclassed. Iam not even talking of this match but the pre-season friendly. I thought it would be a free flowing attacking football from both ends.. But it just came from mancity. Even there Bayern were clueless.. But still that should have been a draw if not for the referee's blunder of disallowing Mueller's goal which was not an offside.. But bayern still deserved to lose that one for their lacklustre performance.
I want bayern to play an ultra attacking game at Allianz and show that the Bayern pride is still there.. Bayern cannot get totally outplayed and not exact revenge for it.... They have to come out all guns blazing and show that bayern pride.

@@patrickhauser588 the xG was 2.23 for City and 0.87 for Bayern so no 3-0 was not a harsh score. At best you could argue that it should have been 3-1 and that’s being very generous to Bayern. Apart from Sane’s chance, they didn’t have a clear cut chance.

If Man City are at their A or A+ game in the last 6 years (since 2017/18)- nobody can mess with them outside of maybe 2017-18 Real Madrid with Zidane as the coach and C.Ronaldo playing. No team got a higher celing than City. When they are firing on all cilinders- you might as well just forefit. I have seen City in their B level game beat Chelsea 6-0 and Liverpool 5-0.

That 3-2-5 formation by city & arsenal are getting really dangerous for the opponents. That inverted midfield are now being used even by teams which traditionally have not used them. Last game liverpool used it against arsenal with TAA as the inverted midfield firstly struggling for 30 minutes & then really creating chaos in the opposition half. One has to be really brave to use that in a big game & against a big team & that too in crunch matches. Once a team gets comfortable with that shape it really creates problems for opposition teams.
