No one from OPSM has contacted me about this video, I guess they are still trying to work out an explanation! Or they just don't give a S***

Nothing is like it use to be, but I guess that's just the way things go. I just went thru an ordeal buying new glasses and getting them to apply my insurance benefits correctly. After months of doing an appeal to my insurance and numerous phone calls to both the suppliers and insurance I finally got them to see they submitted the charges incorrectly in the beginning and got a refund of the overcharge. You have to be a "squeaky wheel" !

Sorry to hear Mike. I know a staph infection can be serious. Do take care. The only contact i have with people it seems is in a store and out. And so much can be had online, delivered to your door. Im making Amazon rich.
Anyways, take good care, talk soon. Bill

Very sorry to hear of your troubles for someting that should be relatively simple in this day and age.
The mis-matched nose pads and leaving sharp edges are both inexcusable and represent signs of neglect (or apathy) on their part.
How did they expect you to wear them with any semblance of comfort and safety?
My wife stopped buying her eyeglasses from opticians years ago because of similar experiences to yours and because of their sky high prices.
Now she just gets the prescriptions from them and buys the actual frames and lenses through our local Costco (which isn't perfect either, but at least it is much less expensive).
She always keeps a spare set of glasses around though because to get proper lens fits into existing frames they really do need to send them off to the lens grinding facility for fitting.
Having engraved numbers on the lenses in the field of view would indeed be a problem.
To me it would always look like they were dirty, or chipped perhaps.
It seems like a very bad idea on the part of the manufacturers.
Looking forward to future videos from you, as are a lot of other people..!
Despite the subject of this one, it is great to see you making them again. 😀

Hi Mike! Yes, its crazy, isn't it. It was time for me to get new specs and sunglasses. The last time i got glasses, the sunglasses were 300 dollars. This place wanted 675 dollars just for sunglasses alone. I walked out. The next place i got both pairs for about 600. This is still exorbitant, given that the frames are probably made in China and cost a few dollars to make. What a racket. I should have been an optometrist!

      Hi Bill,
Sorry I've not been in touch of late. It's partly connected with THIS saga. After I returned for my last refund, which was delayed due to staff illness. One of the staff told me she had been ill with sore throat and off work. I was worried by this. Two days later I had Covid for the first time. While I cannot prove that's where I got it from, it's most likely, as I lead a hermit's life and keep well clear of people. I had 2 days of doing nothing, I just stayed in bed. I week later I'm negative now but still have a cough. That's my excuse Bill. Lots to catch up on for sure. Mike

This has happened to me (receiving glasses which still have numbers on the lenses) - luckily the e-tailer I purchased them from allowed me to purchase another pair. I tend to buy my glasses online and I've been with them for over 10 years so I put it down to just bad luck.
I always have a spare pair at home as I can't see things like the numbers of buses or shelf labels in shops very well without them!
Brick and mortar store prices for glasses are horrendous - I can easily be charged £400 a pair or more for varifocals (medium prescription, non-designer frames).

Hi Mike, I've just done the exchange rate to £. I have my eyes tested by scrivens or specasavers in Rugeley Staffordshire. I then take the prescription to an independent spectacle manufacturers which is adjacent to the above mentioned. I have rimless variofocals with transitions lenses. They cost about £230-£250.

Same poor service and HIGH prices here in Australia. I bought a pair of progressive, multi-focal lenses on-line from China AUD1,000 less than OPSM. These are the 4th pair of glasses from China and they are GREAT.

I have never thought of this, might be a good idea. The only issue would be if you have a problem. At least locally I can sort it out face to face.

What a terrible experience you have had there with multiple optometrists in your area. Really sad that those new "Optometrists Franshicse Stores" do often have way to much unqualified personell, or younger staff, that is not too interested in actually learning the trade of the business. Fitting different sized pads on is horrible service (sounds like the person doing that should probably invest in some new specs to be able to do their job properly...) Lenses refitted to old frames should always be cut and grinded to the correct fit for the frames, no need to use longer screws at all, if the job is done propely... My old frames have new lenses in and the whole thing took only 20-30 minutes at the shop, while i waited with a coffee... Costed way less than buying new frames when i needed new strength on my lenses. Well stay on track OM, and see you later, when you have some time and feel for posting new content. Just love your videos. Make sure to enjoy good quality time with your loved ones, and stay safe. Best regards

The eye supply store in my humble country the Philippines 🇵🇭 in Mandaluyong Manila, Executive Optical is doing a better job in my opinion. Better service, good explanation, no rip offs in price the past 14 years. Again in my personal opinion, health care in Manila Philippines is better than in any other place in terms of price and attention to why you are there in the first place.

Hi Joey, my wife is also a Filipina. Her last pair of specs were obtained from Philippines on her last trip home. She is very happy with them. However, I could easily see the lasered code on the lens, but it did not bother her.

Sad to hear about all yours problems. I used Specsavers (in Denmark Louise Nielsen) once and they cheated me with a cheaper framed that the one I have payed for. After a long fight I got my money back, and a short time later the store closed.
I then use another optician and went to my eye doctor, and he wrote me a note "The Glasses don't' fit the eyes!" And I got my money back.
For the 3 last glasses I have bought, I used a little Danish - not International - company Democratic Eyewear, and thery so good to me.
