@@AlecPeirceScuba_SeaHunter we dive a lot, so we will be a good test! Thanks for sharing this! 🤙🤙❤️❤️🤙🤙
Another great post by Alec and filmed by Kevin!
We thank you very much.

Alec i don't recall if i learn it from your channel but once the initial prep is done for the mask with toothpaste or a lighter they only thing that create fogging is actually the temperature of your face vs the lens vs the water and the ambiant temperature. Anyway you submerge you head in the water 2-3 time to cool it down you do the same with you mask since i do that never had any fogging problems, i don't even use any product . Obviously didn't invent anything i learn it from you guys. it work really well. keep posting your the best.
I did several videos on new mask preparation and the basics of fogging. Cooling your face is a good start but with these films and how they handle water, not really needed anymore. Would like to hear from a diver to prove this. Thanks for watching.

Love the reading glasses mask, so much utility!
They are Kevin’s but I have them too. Seems bad eyes and old age go together.
It may be easier to install if first you remove the lenses from the mask frame, apply the film, and reinsert the lenses.
If you test fit the film and there is overhang, that may help get a very close fit. if there is room all around the film, no need.
A
the idea is fantastic, my only concern is how you remove it after a few years of intense use, it is a plastic so I can figure that the mask will outlast it.
I had bad experience with window tinting films on cars and it is a mess to remove.
very good topic
excellent video
They peel off easily if you need to replace them. @swimsmarttoday is the sister company that also sells them
It peels off easily, wet or dry. Kevin tried them out and liked it. Good to know a rinse before diving and jump in. No more did I / should I add drops. Nice to see a new product with a real use show up.

Where are you buying these? I found some at Walmart but a different shape
Look for fogxsolutions.com. That's their website to learn and buy from.

Where did Kevin get his prescription lens from?
Any local dive store can replace the standard lenses with prescription ones (left and right can be different). His is an Atomic Aquatics UltraClear, replacement prescription lenses cost $110 CDN for both. Takes a few minutes to replace. Hope this helps and Kevin said he tried other inserts but changes the lenses worked best.

Burn your mask (if you know what you're doing) or scrub it out with Comet or Ajax. Then use a dab of full strength baby shampoo on each lens (dry) and rub it around. Let it set and rinse it out when you hit the water. Works a treat every dive 🧴🧴🧴
Thanks for sharing your ideas.

Is this "hydrophobic film" cut in the shape of dive masks and swimming goggles? I've seen it elsewhere, namely on rear view mirrors to repel water.
I do believe it is. I saw something on their website that describes how it work, and how fogging works.
A
Actually this is different. It's hydrophilic which attracts the water and creates a thin flat film that you see through. Fog is created when beads of water form on a surface, distorting the light passing through. Our films do better when wet and in a closed humid environment which is why they need activation by water before diving. Good question!
$7.00 US might be $50.00 CAD 😅😅😅 😊
A few years ago it was!

👍🤿😎!
Thank you. I'm not good at emoji talk.

@@AlecPeirceScuba_SeaHunter 👍 How about I always enjoy your videos and learning about your experiences !
Baby shampoo. Much cheaper, works on everything
It can work for some divers, have to reapply and i know a few who cannot use it. This film works great for those with eye sensitivities or forgetfulness (like me).
A
@@AlecPeirceScuba_SeaHunter some of my friends fill up a 5 gallon bucket part way with water and put a generous squirt in with it. Then you just toss your mask in there until your next dive. I usually only have to apply once for a day of diving.
Come on now… a few drops of Baby Shampoo wiped around the lens and mask seal works best and it’s cheap …
Baby Shampoo shown to be toxic as well. Check out the information from Stream 2 Sea, and others. And before you push back.. yes, of course they want to sell their products, but it doesn’t mean they’re wrong.
Not everyone can tolerate soap in their eyes. This is a good solution to those with sensitive eyes (ok, that's Kevin).

I grew up in the competitive swimming world and tried the baby shampoo. Never lasted long enough. That's why I invented this. If you don't think it's better, I'll refund you 😉
@@laminar0886 you don't have to drink it !
@@swimsmarttoday i have never ever had my mask fog up in 84 degree water , down to 32 degree water ...
