I am so glad my grandmother taught me to sew. I rarely make new clothes, but use my skills to alter clothing to fit to a T! Adjusting a hem, a nip and a tuck = perfect fit!
I was once colour coded as a Spring, but have since been re-coded as a borderline Spring/Autumn: the darker colours of Spring and the lighter colours of Autumn. When I look at u and what colours u like and look best in, I would say u r a Winter, as no one but a winter could look so good in black, navy , white and purple - all of which make me resemble the undead. I used to wear a lot of black when young, but now I find that grey, mid-brown and aqua blue give a more youthful appearance. Thanx again for helping your devotees to freshness and relevance!
Love your classic style. Great looks showcased in this video. Laughed out loud when you said you had lost your waist somewhere back with menopause. Me too! I’ve been looking and looking for mine, while trying to find figure-flattering clothes for this new season of life!
Your tips and tricks has upped my style game. I am on a budget but I can put together stylish outfits since I started following you. You are so amazing, keep up the great work!😊
Hello Beth, i'm 36 and i have always been into classic and timeless clothing, i love your channel because it is great for any age, you have a very sofisticated style
I love your choices, Beth. Anyone who thinks a woman over 50 can"t wear a shorter dress needs to see you in that black dress with heels, wow! I have my eye on a faux leather dress at Talbots as well as a pair of leather pumps.
Age is just a number..... and so on. It's more about personality, shape etc. Look how gorgeous Beth looks wearing shorter dresses and skirts. I do have a couple of leather skirts myself and I'm 58. I also would like to have a faux leather dress! Just buy this dress at Talbots! 🥰
I enjoyed this video on style. The steps you went through was information that I needed. I think you always look stylish and confident. It is true when you feel confident in what your wearing high end or lower cost , you show the confidence in the way you carry yourself and exude confidence. Thank you for this video.
Beth loved all the looks that you presented. Loved the olive green skirt and body suit! I've said it before, you really should go into modeling. You always look fabulous!
I am 67, and My favorite fall/mild winter outfits are jeans/slacks a pretty top, a third layer like a cropped jacket, blazer and a heeled shoe or bootie. But a few of the dresses you showed have caught me eye. I may need to look a little closer at them. I watch all of your videos Beth. You looked amazing in the shorter flirty dress and the jean dress. 😊
Hi Beth. Thanks for posting. You gave us words of wisdom here for sure, no matter how rich you are you could easily dress like a disaster if you don't know how to compose an outfit. And on the other hand budget clothes can make you look like a million dollars! This greenish ruffle dress really suits you! 😍So chic, feminine and sweet dress!! Love all your outfits! 😀
Great advice Beth! I try to save money by purchasing items on sale - but stay with my favorite brands. Fit and care - great seamstress and dry cleaner - so essential. I’d rather have fewer quality pieces that I love than lots of items - I just mix and match to tweak the look. I’ve been into monochromatic looks lately. My goal is to look polished everyday - clothes, makeup and hair - it builds confidence. When you look your best, you feel your best.
Hello. I’m new to your channel and so glad I found it. I’ve struggled with a (large) weight problem most of my life and therefore spent very little money on clothing. My reasons for that were 1) I was going to lose weight and the money would be wasted on expensive clothing. And 2) I didn’t deserve nice things. Now we’ve moved to a new, small town where I know no one and just figured what does it matter what I wear or how I look to others? Since watching your videos I’ve learned it matters a great deal! When I take the time to dress as nicely as I can and put on makeup I really do feel better about myself, which has led to wanting to take better care of myself. I still can’t afford to spend a lot of money on my clothing, but going forward I will be shopping with my new found knowledge in my head before making a purchase. So a great big thank you for that!
I can’t wear synthetic (plastic) fibers or even blends containing more than a small percentage of them (the rayon group is ok). I had to buy an entire new wardrobe this last year because of weight loss, but all-natural materials are so much more expensive, I was dreading the expense. So, Quince has been a godsend for me, they have many natural-fiber/material items at fair, affordable prices. The quality and service are quite good and I’m very happy with my Quince choices. (I don’t think they ship internationally, maybe just US and Canada? Well, Quince is our alternative to Arket, which everyone but us in the US gets to purchase from). I don’t even look at brands or items that don’t use natural materials.
When I was in high school, I loved fashion, so I purchased an oxblood oil cloth bomber jacket. When I showed it to my mother, she went hysterical and told me to return it because I looked like a biker chic. Now my mother loved clothing as much as I do and never opposed anything I wore, but this case was different. I had to march right back to the store and return it. But I have loved it ever since and may just purchase this jacket. LOL. I am now 70 and my mother has long passed away.
Isn't it crazy what our mother's thought about fashion? I had to beg to get my ears pierced because y mother disapproved. Only "fast" girls had pierced ears. Guess who pierced their ears shortly after me... Thanks for stopping by! And you should definitely purchase this jacket. It is so dang cute!
@@BethDjalali My mother also disapproved of ear piercing and she never had hers pierced but I did eventually when I was in my 50's. LOL Only because my husband said he wasn't going to buy me diamond earrings until I got my ears pierced because he didn't want me to lose them. I have a lovely pair of diamond studs now and a necklace to match. LOL
Good reminder video- I agree with all you said. Love the classics. And Beth, you have a great set of gams on you, plus nice feet for high heels or fashionable shoes ( vs I have bunions and wide feet).
As always, I love all the outfits here. But, 1/2 Italian with more olive complexion I can wear some neutrals, but need color with it so I don't look washed out. Chicos recommends I always include the saturated colors as well. A blouse, sweater, scarf or something to wear with the neutrals. It seems to work fine. ❤
My favorite outfit on you is the crop Jeans with the flowy top with the Fauxpas leather burgund jacket. Just adorable on you and youthful with the lovely, femine shoes. What kind of Bass Do you recommand? I have bought today a jeans bag by joop on sale. I think it will be timeless. I also have theiced a dress in Jeans for a couple of bucks that looks also elegant and effortless. Groningen older is great but it is also a time of changing or adapting the own personal style and beging creative. Decluttering things is a big issue for me but I am on my way. Thank you for your stylisch insight. Yes a new hsircut is defenitely a must. Looking forward to watching more of your videos🎉
I was surprised that QVC is carrying some beautiful clothing. The first prices are outrageous, so I wait til they go on sale. I like the Beautiful, and the Logo Lavish for the details.
Dear Beth, u have such annoyingly good legs. U look great in anything . U advise faux leather: My son's wedding is on Monday - it has a Viking theme. All I bought was a pair of brown faux leather pants. U advise checking in one's wardrobe: I did that, and found all the other items I needed for the wedding outfit. I also took a brown blazer to my tailor and he replaced the shoulder pads with slight ones: instantly modernised. U always push natural fabrics like linen, and I also found a cream/beige linen blazer with brown lacing. Both those neutral blazers work with denim pants. I can hardly find the right words to thank u enough for your style videos. I have watched bits and pieces of other style blogs, but stop after a few minutes, from irritation. No one, but no one, can match u for taste. Beth forever! PS: I love Oscar walking back and forth in the foreground, but I also saw another very fluffy canine tail: have you added a new dog?
I am so glad my grandmother taught me to sew. I rarely make new clothes, but use my skills to alter clothing to fit to a T! Adjusting a hem, a nip and a tuck = perfect fit!
Beth Djalali, every video is a treat, keep them coming
What a lovely compliment! Will do! Thanks for stopping by!
Beth, the cream-colored denim dress looks SO much better on you than on the website models!
You styled it beautifully.
Oh thank you! It might be my favorite!

Beth --- you knocked it out of the park with this video!!!! --- At any price point!!!
The cropped oxblood jacket is adorable! I ❤it over the olive green bodysuit + pencil skirt. Beautiful autumn colors, Beth!
I am loving the beautiful shades of green and burgundy this year!

Such good advice, basic classic pieces, neutral colors, it all fits together and it works!!!
Yes it does! Thanks for stopping by!
Beth, you look fabulous in those outfits. I love those looks!
Thanks for all your tips and tricks! I can relate to losing my waist to menopause!! You always look so polished!!
Aging has its pros cons! Thanks for stopping by!

I have to say my seamstress is my secret weapon. Nothing better than a well fitted pair of pants! Always love to hear from you!

@@BethDjalali I had to wait until I was twenty-one and married before I got my ears pierced! 😂❤
I had to wait until I was 16. My Mom took me to the doctor to have it done. I did get 2nd hole pierced but my Mom did it before me!
Love your videos and style! Thanks Beth.
Love your videos, but I think this has to be my favorite!
Wow, thanks!

Great tips, Beth. Where did you purchase the denim top you are wearing? You looked marvelous in the ecru denim dress.
Love love the looks!
Glad to hear it!
Thank you Beth for sharing your wonderful tips! You look fabulous as always!!! I too lost my waist, many moons ago!! lol
Blessings, LadyJMo

Fabulous video. Thank you so much Beth you look awesome.
You are so welcome! Thanks for stopping by, Fran. Always love to hear from you.
Excellent advice. Thank you.
My pleasure!
love it ❤
Scoop is not available at Walmart Canada 😢
You can always put an insole insert to cushion the boots. Costs $5
I love to bargain shop and go to vintage stores.
Your sunglasses? On LTK?
I was surprised that QVC is carrying some beautiful clothing. The first prices are outrageous, so I wait til they go on sale. I like the Beautiful, and the Logo Lavish for the details.
I have always wondered - Are you supposed to tip your seamstress/tailor?
My seamstress works for herself so I just pay her what she charges.

Neutral colors can be a good base but if all I have is neutrals is the most boring stuff in the world.
Wouldn't disagree.
You’re so cute!
❤❤❤
Your looks are very girl boss, Miranda Priestly!
They are! And I'm loving every minute!
I see lots of faux leather & it looks cheap to me especially head to toe.
12,000 for a chanel bag is worth it in an alternate universe.
Thank you for your videos. I must say that I find short skirts especially with high heels ridiculous on older people. Sorry
Makes me sad to see so many videos about looking “expensive” or “younger” or “thinner”. Sounds like a 13 yr old girls problem.
