    Thanks Scott, I just received my scoria on 12/12 , Mokwheel has made some more improvements, they no longer come with the center kickstand, mine came with a nice side kick stand, and also the tires are improved also. the chain guard is only on outer side and is solid not bendable great improvement , i think the early versions came with one on both sides which cause chain derail. this bike is really powerful I got the holiday $148 package of accessories well worth it especially the padded seat. keep on making great videos, anyone ordering now will get the new version of the scoria. thanks

      @@scotthardestyScott I didn’t see all your videos…at least not yet…(lol) but did you by chance review the Mokwheel Obsidian?
      I recently purchased a bike from Velotric and I used your discount code. 😀
      I’m really interested in the Mokwheel Fat tire Obsidian because it meets my needs.
      • a dual-suspension
      • a 400lb total weight capacity
      • a brushless 1000w hub mtr.
      • a quality torque sensor
      • a quality color display
      • a 48v 19.6 amp hour UL 🔋
      • a high lumen quality light
      Unfortunately they decided against including integrated break lights…that’s okay I have just the fix for that.
      Yes, I agree with you it’s good to see that most e-bike manufacturers seem to always improve on their products.
      I’m a semi-retired Chicagoan still in my 50’s looking to get his out of shape body on a reliable and sturdy e-bike.
      I’m absolutely determined to lose weight and get fit…
      …so thanks to TH-cam and thanks to good people like you I’ve been motivated to get back on my horse and get physically moving again.

      Scott, has Mokwheel offered to provide you with their fat tire full suspension (Obsidian)
      e-bike for review?
      I’m sorry I know people ask you these dumb questions all the time, we’re all like a bunch of kids who just got their first big wheel. 🛞

    Thanks for the information, however I'm a noob at mechanical stuff so I wish you had shown us all the steps with the tools needed. I was looking at this bike but the ghost pedaling turned me off to it, but if the fix is something that even I could do then maybe I'll reconsider it again. Right now, I like the solution, just not sure if I'm capable of doing it.

    • @scotthardesty
      @scotthardesty  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sorry Richard. It is super easy. I don't know the allen wrench size as I just keep trying different sizes until I find the one that fits. But it really is as simple as unbolting those 4 bolts, removing the stock chain ring and guard, then putting the new ones on. You can always buy the parts and have your local bike shop switch them out for you.

    • @richarddkearney
      @richarddkearney ปีที่แล้ว

      So you don't have to remove the pedals? I guess I'm not envisioning how it comes off. I'll go look at my current bike and see if i can figure out how it might work.

      @richarddkearney Crank has to be removed to get the 4th bolt out.

    Hi thank you for your video. I put a chainring woth 52T on and it works great. But i have an issue i cannot find out what diameter the rear axle has? It is not m12x1.25 or m12.1.75. do you knwo the right nut size?
    After 7 mails with mokwheel support they where not able to say what diameter it is or where i can buy a replacement nut :(. They have to check back with the engineers... It is unbelievable for me that their are no technical drawings or something...
    Maybe you can help me?
    Thank you and best regards from Germany

    I'm finally glad to see someone on the Chicago streets! I'm planning to buy an E bike or an E kick scooter for next spring so Thanks for all the info on this particular e-bike. I live in Albany Park in Chicago near Foster and Kedzie. I was looking at that same Mokwheel last weekend at Electric movement on North ave. and Orleans but i couldn't decide between a bike or scooter.. Again Thanks I will be leaning towards the same bike. Q: How does the bike handle the colder weather?

      When I first moved up to Chicago, I had an adorable apartment in Albany park, next to the Kedzie brown line on Spaulding Ave. Now I live in Logan Square. So I am always on the 606 trail and riding thru Chicago. Maybe we will run into each other someday! I will be testing the bike this winter. Thanks for watching!

    Scott, Thanks for producing Great Videos! Have you given the fix information to Mokwheel so they can make the Scoria better? I see the Scoria has a new Tire. On the Web Site picture it looks like a Tan Sidewall, but on your picture in the Video it looks like a Whitewall? Which is it?

    • @scotthardesty
      @scotthardesty  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I did send this video to Mokwheel. When it comes to the tires, they did update them to the tan versions that have a more street tread than the mtb ones that came with mine. I upgraded the tires to these white walled ones. If I had the tans ones that come with the bikes now, I probably wouldn't have switched them out. Just filmed a video on the Scoria upgrades I have made but still need to edit it. Here is the info on the tires. amzn.to/46QDRtp

      The Scoria now comes with a tan sidewall, I had an earlier model. I send each of my videos to Mokwheel after they are public so they can receive the same info as everyone else. I do not know if they made any more changes to the Scoria besides the tan tires.

    Just wondering if this upgraded chainring voids the warranty. I purchased the Scoria based on your review as well as a positive test ride. At the age of 70, I am re-enjoying biking as I did in my 20's. The only way I have been able to beat the ghost pedaling is to turn off the PAS and pedal away. Not the best solution.
