- Dakota Johnson's new film "Persuasion" takes place in the Regency Era but it is still relevant today. In the movie her character, Anne, is persuaded to give up the love of her life, something Dakota can relate to. She told Access Hollywood she had to give up her "reproductive rights" although she didn't want to. The 32-year-old actress also dished on perfecting her British accent and admitted like her character, she surprises herself "all the time" with some things she says. "Persuasion" starts streaming on Netflix July 15.

Everybody hated the film and I for one found it charming.
I love the movie. I love the humor. I've read the book I've seen other movies. And they were all done the same way. But finally we have a modern version with some hilarity, I found that to be refreshing.Thank you Dakota, for your part.

I love Dakota, but something seems off with her, she act so strange, like she doesn't want to answer a few question
A lot of people are introverted , or simply dont vibe with the interviewer. A lot of actors also hate the whole promonational rounds coz its the same interviews with the same questions all day long.
I agree its not as fun for the viewers when the actors seem dull.

The questions and interviewer weren’t good imo. Everything she asked was bland and kind of dumb, like asking Dakota if she has ever regretted anything. If I was being interviewed like that I’d be bored out of my mind too.
Shoddy job at portraying Anne of the actual novel! The movie is beautiful but totally different from the novel!
The cast did what they can with this modern-day film adaptation and script. Many followers of Jane Austen novels were disappointed that this adaptation missed the full essence of the Persuasion heroine, Anne Elliot; the nuances of the characters and the depth of this period second-chance romantic story. Despite this limitation, I found Dakota Johnson fascinating-she radiated with a certain good-natured impishness with a calm, confident, kind-hearted demeanor in her role. The character of Frederick Wentworth and his history with Anne was restrained and underdeveloped, but Dakota Johnson in her scenes with him made up for the constrained chemistry.
