Yes DKDKTV is the goto for most of BTS song explained, but he got things wrong and missed a lot of stuff on this MV that actually matters(ofcourse everyone can have their own interpretation but if you want to know what Yoongi means when he himeself come up with this MV's direction DKDK got it wrong on this one). @@DarkWing494 I’m not a fan of the Bookish theories in this instance: she’s awesome, but they’re theories… some things are great but others are conjecture and supposition which is fine: she’s not claiming otherwise! In this case you wanna know what the Korean inferences, cultural clues and historical references are and that’s where DKDKTV shines. Same for the other two songs I mentioned; it’s the cultural knowledge we need if we’re not Korean whereas the theories are great for Bangtan Universe etc, anywhere you’re looking to make sense of the art or see what you missed in the artistic interpretation. Like the difference between math class and literature class 😉💜
Daechwita is actually a traditional Korean musical genre born in the late Joseon dynasty, which used to be performed in royalty processions, was characterized by including wind instruments and percussion.
Daechwita by Agust-D, is a representation of Suga’s constant battle against himself and how the desire to achieve his dreams have given him the courage to do everything to achieve being on top, and the emptiness he feels even now when he has everything he wants.
Dachwita’s MV references parts of Korean culture as well. Set in a royal palace, the video sees Suga take on two opposing characters.
He is a humble boy who represents the Korean people and is also the king. Yoongi faces himself in an endless battle, his revolutionary and humble side against the powerful, cruel and dangerous part of his personality.
It's interesting.. We can see that the king has a scar on his face according to Korean culture the royal members with scars are not allowed to be a king..so they wanted to show that they broke that rule and the king is a mad king he executes people cruelly..while dancing you can see that the king steps on a person,they were supposed to be royal council members it means he doesn't respect royal council also..as per the modern agustd. And at starting we can see that modern agustd nods to butcher it means they are planning against the king…thats why the butcher doesn't execute him at the end …and with the help of everyone modern agustd becomes king.
Daechwita gives a powerful message about being proud of our roots, of being able to become what we most want despite adversity. At the same time, the dark side of power is also made clear, where having what we most wanted is sometimes not enough.

The way I SCREAMED! Genuinely one of my fave songs of all time, this song and whole album was masterful. I know you guys aren’t a big fan of rap but it’s such a core foundation of BTS routes and their is soooo much mastery in lyricism and wordplay that the rap line do, sometimes more masterful then any melody of some of their more singing based songs, and I think it’s important to acknowledge this 😊

Happy Birthday Yoongi! "Who's the King, who's the boss?" It's Suga a.k.a. August D! 💜Love the cinematic quality of the music video, which also shows symbols of Korean history. Also, Yoongi learned the sword fighting technique for this music video. Some BTS members do have cameos in the solo music videos. For Daechwita, Jin and JK was in the market (they were the guys fighting in the background).💜Looking forward to watching him in his concert. So excited for his World Tour!
As much as I love Yoongi's rap songs, I hope you can also check out Seesaw for his birthday week. Just to give you guys a variety of his music, and not just rap. I think Seesaw showcases a very different Suga :)
Would love First Love too, because it's like a love letter to his first piano and they both pay piano or just Gabriel idk, but it would be cool for them to see the performance and lyrics of this too

One Easter egg that BTS do in almost all their solo works is they always have 6 backup dancers or background characters. If you notice, Yoongi was surrounded my 6 other people during his verses. It’s a really cute little Easter egg and all the members have done it in their own individual works and it’s sort of a way to say the members will always be on their mind no matter what path they venture onto. Recently, as solo albums among the members have begun to be released, solo stans (fans who only like one of the members) have started pushing the narrative that the members would be better off on their own. So many of them have anticipated this second chapter of BTS’s journey because they have been hoping for disbandment. It’s really heartbreaking to see because the members have always said that as much as they love and appreciate fan support, they hope we as fans support all the members and how they cannot live without eachother. Even recently, in an interview RM did, he said how “Lots of bands split up and fall apart, but I hope that doesn't happen to BTS. I just love the music, I love my job, I love the band members and I love myself.” It goes to show that even while exploring their own, personal individuality as artists, through the release of solo albums, their team is always as important.

SUGA is an in- demand Producer as well. Would be cool to check out some of the songs he produced, especially those of other artists. Most recent is PSY’s ‘That That’ where he also was a feature. He also produced the Over The Horizon ringtone for a Samsung in 2021 and 2022.
Regarding Daechwita, you should watch the explanation video, as well as the SUGA sword dance where he practices for this MV with a real sword. Amazing, the work he put in to this video. There are also behind the scenes as well of Daechwita.
Fun fact: in behind the scenes footage, Yoongi asked the person he stepped on if he was ok.

Omg if you can, please react to Yoongi’s Shadow! It’s the follow up to RM’s Persona and it’s meant to come before Hobi’s Ego, and together all three songs make up a trilogy 🫶🏼 They all have amazing messages individually and a hundred times more so stitched together, but Shadow is my absolute favorite. Yoongi is a genius! His music and lyrics tell his stories so well and capture the message of the song expertly - that the brighter the light (on them), the bigger and darker the shadow. Even writing this down gives me CHILLS! What a song 💯

If you want to be more clear, Suga is of noble descent, you can search on google and Ma City's song also says that Suga has blue blood in him, blue blood means noble descent, Jin and Taehyung are also of noble descent
I read that as well and if I am not mistaken it said that V and Jin are of the same Clan, I saw that in a video I believe it was a intro video on V or the Video titled ( Who is Kim Taehyung ) it goes through each later of his Name I believe!! Thanks guys for doing this for Min Yoongi's birthday. Was not sure of your reaction; I never appreciated rap until I saw/heard Hamilton, but BTS has three rappers I really like and I began to enjoy the skill and poetry of it. This is a movie quality mv and my favorite shot is the one when his "hat" moves up and you can see his face underneath. No idea how they shot that, but it's very effective.
The cinematography is gorgeous. I like the camera work while he's rapping and walking towards the camera at the beginning - the camera movements add so much.
