Danni, you take good care of your Phals so, I think that's more important than what the pot looks like or the set-up. Bless your little heart, you always keep such an upbeat attitude even when people are nasty. Kootos to you, my dear n God bless!

I started with two phals several years ago. Then, friends and neighbors brought me their gift phals when the blooms stopped and they didn't know what to do with the plants. Now I have 23 phans to take care of. I repotted them in bark and moss in clear pots which I burned holes in for air. I like the look of the medium and the roots. I know they take more watering. Everything I have learned about orchids I learned from YOU and I love it. Thanks bunches for adding to my life and interests. PS I have told my friends, " No more plants!" but they ignore me and I find them on my doorstep anyway. My orchids love me and I love them.

Dani you’re phals are pretty, they look like they are growing beautiful and colors doesn’t matter it’s very expensive to repot I use clay pots coconut pots
anything I can get my hands on I’m hanging all of them I think you’re a sweetheart and if that viewer doesn’t like tell them you pot them in whatever because who can find that many matching pots . That’s was very rude I really cannot believe someone said that to you ,as long as it’s growing in any pot an healthy an blooming. Your very wonderful at growing your orchids. 👏 good job little Dani you’re a beautiful lady.

Dang; can't believe how many you have; orchid heaven!!!! I grow all of mine in a tree outside. I have 15 of them and 12 are spiking right in time for winter, smh. This has never happened before; maybe one or two of them but not 12. I hope they make it thru the winter. I'm in FL so hopefully!!!

Great I’m in Louisiana and trying to keep mine outin my flower garden trying to put but I sunburned about 10 and tried to save them I put them in my green house
And oh my not enough shade an you know what happened ugh they burn fast to so I immediately darkened my overhead light and my east wall but I’d love living in Florida, we have visited there many times and we love it 😊. We went to the Keyes and were at the Hemingway house oh the plants were gorgeous and loved the air plants growing wild the only thing that bothers me are people have let those giant boas and other snakes loose there and it’s ruining a natural beautiful place isn’t that just the worst thing we love the water An fishing as well well nice talking to you but I can’t believe someone would be so rude to our little sweet heart Dani who cares we can’t all have matching pots exactly alike
that’s not very nice of ever who said it. She’s got beautiful orchids for living in a city .Happy growing!

LOVE LOVE LOVED this video! I actually acquired a new Phal that came mail order that is growing a spike and I wondered if I had to wait till the spike grew and finished blooming before I could repot. I don't trust the media she's in complete moss, and moss planted orchids tend to develop root rot in my care. I will repot her in bark tonight. I'm thrilled for your Phals beauty makeover! I prefer your Phals over your other orchids. That's just my preference, Phals are my favorite. I only own one other type, I have a Sherry Baby just because of her fragrance.

Surprise surprise! The phalaenopsis phobic girl has a huge array of phals!! That too, hybrids... :D I love them anyway. The species and primary hybrids of phals are intriguing and most appealing to me as ever. My phals are growing roots like anacondas. they are from 4-6 months old

I think what media and color pot you grow your orchids is your choice and views should not be dictating that. Just saying.

Hi Danny. I’ve just repotted two phals (watching some of your older Repot clips ) and being that they were in bark I decided to replace it with the same with additional spagnum moss. As I had mentioned before I needed to keep the blooms because it was to be gifted and also came from a garden center full of aphids. I’ve taken care of the problems and so far haven’t bud blasted too much, only couple tender growths came off. I’m still reluctant to switch to semi hydro, perhaps in the spring I’ll try again.
You don’t want carrying pots back and forth ( gosh over 150) and my mom who’s elderly I want the same too, and she loves her orchids.
Talking about bark, what happened to your barking dog -kinda miss it 😝, Wuff.

I'm glad to hear that Phals can be repotted while in spike!
Soooo... What about if they're growing a keiki? I bought a mini Phal over the summer, purely because it was potted in an adorable little pink teacup pot. The media is sphagnum moss and I intended to repot it in my usual bark mix after it finished blooming, but life got busy and I didn't do it right away... Long story short, after growing two new leaves this summer it now appears to be growing a basal keiki, and I don't know if I should disturb it or not!

HI Danni!! Hope you get this message and an opportunity to respond. I have an old phal which has gotten quite large and top heavy. Its lost many of its lower leaves over time and so the axis (?) has become bare. I recently repotted it, but I'm concerned because it seems pretty unstable and wobbly in its pot. Can I bury some of the axis in the medium to make it more stable?? How do you handle such a problem??

    • @heatheredwards2982
      @heatheredwards2982 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Best to not bury the stem it can cause rotting. You can attach the orchid to a stake though and that would help a lot.

Hey miss Danny! I wanted to share this : Take a look at a color wheel online. They outline warm colors and cool tones ( the pink you showed in this video is cool tones btw). The color wheels will give you more guided ( accurate) depictions of warm tones so that you can have more flexibility with the color scheme in your lovely greenhouse).

+Misslou2425 oh that is a great idea with the wheel :D I found a link goo.gl/images/iYAq1f and according to it that pink is actually a warm color lol anw it's up to preference as well, somehow it's a pink I like :)

Thank you for that informative video I was not planning to change my pals into semi hydro because they are in spike however I will now hahhahah. If anything I learned pink is a cool color. And I agree kinda. I think the problem starts with red. Red is a neutral color. Why do I say this? Because if you mix red with yellow you get orange a worm color but if you mix red with blue you get purple a cool color. The trouble with pink is your mixing red a neutral color with white another neutral color. But white is more of a shad then a color. So that takes me back to red and by its self I'd call red a worm color making pink worm as well.
