I watched a few self-made panniers, most were incredibly simple, this is.. next level. Really, it looks as good as a mid/high range pannier from Ortlieb/Vaude.
Great job!!! I'd add some reflective light strips for safty and shoulder straps which are connected with clips and can be hidden away whole riding . Love it!
Ended up using some metal bathroom hooks, 1€ a piece, on a piece of wood that was protected from water and rain with marine varnish (lacquer ? How do you say ?) . Not super sexy but i'm satisfied. Very inexpensive.
I used 1/8" doorskin 3 layer plywood for the back piece . Light , strong and the fabric is attached with small screws and lock nuts to the rack hangers at the top and external belts at the bottom.
Hey man im about to try making my own panniers for a long term tour with waterproof nylon. Does the back plate strengthen the load bearing capacity of the material at all? I don't want to buy it if it isnt necessary.
Thanks! I tore apart a cheap pannier set that I already had. In the near future I will be putting together a how to video with parts you can buy online and showing a step by step process. Stay tuned!
Looking at having a go at making my own panniers as I can't get what I want here in the UK. This has inspired me to give it a go :) What sort of attachments were you using to attach to the rack? I couldn't see them very clearly in the video.
Dumping all that stuff into the bag was classic. Thanks for the chuckle!
last bit was funny ahah!! thanks for sharing, this is a really great design!

Cool, but it would have been nice if you mentioned the attachments for the bike.
Great on you. LOL when you kept loading the bag. I was oblivious then it kicked in..."wait, whaaa?
😂
Great job!!!

This video was a huge help! Without it I doubt I would have been able to craft my own. Thank you
Glad it helped!

HAHA!! You're funny! Love the dog! What a smart idea, and sharp looking too, thank you!
Ha, I'm glad that someone gets my humor!
Great design, would benift from a solid back for support on heavy items.

Great video. Is it possible to tell me where or how did you make the attachment system at the back to fix the bag on the bike. Thank you so much
Nice work man, thank you for sharing

What sort of stitching did you use?
This looks great! Do you have the dimensions of each piece or a template that you’d be willing to share?

Great video! definitely going to try this one!
Thanks! This is only my second project sewing so I think that anyone can do it. Let me know how it turns out!
I couldn't see how the bag is attached to the bike :( however , thanks for inspiration and cuddles to the dog❤
bike essentials: helmet, a lock, some clothes so you can change later, some snacks and ofc the good ole big block of wood
Nailed it, just the essentials!
Very professional looking, although I fear you made it look easy :D

Nice! Yeah I would say that the back-piece helps, it keeps everything rigid and is worth it.
Estimado de donde consiguio el repuesto de enganche a la bicicleta???
Mi español no es bueno, pero no sé lo que estás preguntando.
Kraftmade where do you find the attachment pieces? same question i had.
I tore apart an old pannier apart for the parts
very cool! where did you get the components to clip unto the rack?
Thanks! I tore apart a cheap pannier set that I already had. In the near future I will be putting together a how to video with parts you can buy online and showing a step by step process. Stay tuned!
Kraftmade do you have any updates on that?
What material is that?
Great video! What is the material you used?
Duck cloth!
You forgot to pack kitchen sink!
😂
Awesome video! That has been on my list of diy gear.
This was literally my second sewing project ever so I think anyone can do it!
Great video, amazing you are! I have been looking for help with this. Thank you for sharing.
You are welcome, I am glad you liked it!
Nice design! Where did you get the plastic backing for the bag? Really need to find some good material for my own bags. Thanks!
Thanks! I tore apart an old pannier I had.

Nice, im glad i inspired you! I tore apart an old pannier but i know you can buy parts on the internet.
Hello @mara knits...did you end up doing it? Do you have any more info or specific details? Thanks a million
@@Kraftmade what is it call? where can i buy it on the internet?
@@ridt05 I am currently working on a template so that anyone can sew their own panniers. I hope to have this up in the next week or so.
@@Kraftmade This answer was a year ago, and we would really like the templates?
Good job
Well I learnt a bit from that.
Great job
Thank you!
I have the same bike and seat! we're bike brothers!!!
hey jordan, do you a pattern as well for this?
I don't but I really should with all of the request I get for it!
Where to find/buy/get the suitable fabric (waterproof, tough) for a pannier (to be sewn)?
Thks,
zajdi si do firmy která vyrábí plachtu na tarp truck , já mám zbytky z výroby plachty na tarp truck
I don't know if you understand?? the remnants of the sails on the truck

no entraba el auto tambien en la alforja? yo creo que si jajaja
Cool, but why you show in detail how to cut cloth but give almost no attention to most tricky moment like 6:06
7:22 very capacious pannier ;)

Ha! i will take that as a compliment!
wow! what a great job man, can you share the blueprints pleace?
Thank you! Sorry I don't have any blueprints
The background compares from the sound like a mental home.... but the video is great. 5/5 stars
Haha, that was funny! I appreciate it.
Could I get a link to furniture you used for this bag?
Sorry, I just tore part an old pannier for the parts
Good job 👍🏾
Thanks dude!
It’s a bottomless pit
You're dog wants to ride with you, but he wont fit 😂😂😂
👍😍👍👍😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dommage aucune explication aucune mesure et comment faire les attaches à la arriéré donc aucun intérêt a part montrer ce que l on sait faire
Not all of us know how to do this stuff. Besides, you should be able to figure out the measurements.
LOL...
people just like to show off on TH-cam but they don't share about how they did it. Videos like this just ends up being useless to me.
Yet another video that is doing nothing other than show off what you know how to do without telling any of us why or how you do it.
Its a bag...
great workmanship......bloody annoying music
Good job!
