What I appreciate about this show is that the creators are depicting characters that happen to be gay, and not just gays who are also characters in a show. It doesn't feel forced, and they have multiple layers. Also loved your reaction, can't wait for the next episode!
Also Sara (think that's her name) is autist and has asperger if I'm correct, so her honesty and comments aren't necessarily ill-intentioned, she just doesn't really have a filter.
YES! I agree. I think that films are getting away from those typical storylines of gay characters. I see it done well in Elite and even Heartstopper in my opinion.
@@wwhn I agree! Although for me Elite kind of fell into clichés with Patrick. It's just a little bit expected and unfortunate that the gay character is hyper-sexual and fucks with everyone (both dads and sons), as if he had no moral or values..I don't know if you've watched season 5 already but he really doesn't get any storyline besides chasing "straight-men".
Right and what I appreciate about elite the most is that we had Ander, Omar and even Polo who were not the traditional cliches.
Patrick definitely became the stereotypical gay but I also appreciate the identifying why as I feel season 6 we will get a deeper understanding of why and also a big character development. If you haven’t watched his short story you definitely should!
Gotta love what the young royals production team did for the show to be so authentic. Willes wounds alone. The memes they made about willes fight. Bruh even the vomiting. All of it. It's just *chefs kiss*.

I am a huge huge HUGE Young Royals fan but the vomiting scene is my pet peeve. In the prior scene (sitting at a table in the study area with Simon and Sara) he is wearing a green knit shirt with a collar, and then he rushes to his room to vomit -- has on the same jacket -- but a grey sweater underneath it. Just an annoying editing mistake.
the actor that plays simon (omar rudberg) is a singer/performer too! his music is so good and he's releasing his first album very soon

Its a good show. Many people have made the connection to elite, but I think thats mostly surface level. Elite is a lot more dramatic for the sake of drama if that makes sense. YR definitly has some dramatic moments, but most of them is based on established character flaws and development. There is just more realism. It can be slow at times, but the pace will be picked up. I hope you continue watching it and I really like that you picked the swedish audio. The actors actually does the english sub, so its not terrible, but the swedish audio is the best way to go.
I definitely agree. I love the realism aspect. I just filmed Ep 3 and I’m left in shambles almost. I love the characters so much already.
@@wwhn I can see why. The episode is like a rollercoaster. You think the ride is over and everything's fine. Then someone comes over and hits you in the gut. With that being said, Im looking forward to your reaction of it :P
