- Today, I am bringing you with me on my budgeting journey. We will be going over the paycheck that I received on November 1, 2019. I am a paycheck budgeter, which means I create a paycheck every time I get paid.
Before, I got paid on the 5th and the 20th, but now that I am self-employed full-time, I get a paycheck once a month, on the first day of every month.
In this video, I walk you through every step of my budget and give you the details into what it looks like to use a successful realistic budget is someone's every-day life.
I have been sharing my real budget for over a year on Instagram, but only recently started sharing my budget on TH-cam. By sharing my actual budget, I hope to show you the process and steps behind paycheck budgeting. I also hope it helps you understand the psychological decisions behind money management.

Me too! I kept closing the new window, then come back and click the link again because I thought I was clicking the wrong one, just to end up on the meal planning blog again! 🤣🤣 I started to think maybe it was a sign I need to take over the food in our home and meal plan for a healthier lifestyle 🤣🤣 Of course it probably wouldn't hurt, but hubby is the chef and enjoys cooking so it might be tough!

I’m in Spokane, too. I do comfort pay with my utilities so it is the same amount all year. It makes the budgeting easier for the year.

I have a ?. I thought the cushion was to help for things like bills going over. If you are tracking that as income and using the whole amount, then your account is at zero again. (Using the $1400) So, it's confusing to me to count that as income to use each month. Hope that makes sense....can you explain?
You can do defensive driving and save on car insurance I think I save 62 by doing that
Take a picture of check and put on debt card if bank has that option
Do you have any videos or recommendations on how to stop spending for variable expenses on credit cards? I currently put my groceries and gas on my car. I want to start the cash method on these, so I can stop overspending on my credit card. But part of my budget every month has to go to last months groceries. And I obviously can’t not buy groceries or gas for a month so I can catch up. Any suggestions?

I have a question about my budget categories. Let’s say I go to Walmart and by food but also buy shampoo, soap, dog food and maybe some clothing all in that one Walmart trip. How do I separate that to show where my money went? I’m working on the BBP workbook and am tracking my spending but don’t know how to separate these “all in one” shopping trips. Any advice would help.
Amy L I’m not sure if you got your question answered. I ran into this same challenge. Normally I pay for them in two separate transactions: one for food, one for household. Sometimes I’m in a rush and I don’t. In this case I calculate each category using my receipt and log the totals for each category I used separately on my expense tracker. I draw a curved line that connects both amounts to show it was paid for using one transaction. I hope this helps! 😁
