I used to look at the fact that Lego doesn't make every part and every color as part of the challenge but Lego has got ridiculous and I'm only buying sets of they have exclusive never before seen figs/characters. No point in buying a $1000 Deathstar when I already have all the characters that will come with it. If Lego wants me to keep buying from them then they will have to put more effort in the figs. There r plenty of StarWars characters that we have never seen in Lego form before and those will be what gets me to spend $100+ on a set now days
Thankfully the minifigure range is constantly expanding, especially in Star Wars. I do think some new parts we could do without, but I'm loving all the new slopes & curved elements from this year!
Very true but unfortunately a lot of people are more "mainstream" fans and seeing all their favorite popular minifigures is a big motivation for buying the set for them.
