I’m glad you do what you Mr. Smith. You are a great ambassador for hunting, nature & the conservation of all natural resources. We need more people showing how it’s all connected.
Even "mundane" deer hunting benefits many species. Many deer are overpopulated for their range and the environmental destruction that entails means that culling the herd is better in the long term. And that's not getting into hunting animals like feral hogs.
My first thought was....why kill an elephant? Then I saw the condition of the animal and it was a good thing to have him removed...the harsh conditions were very hard on him...Hunting has proven to be the best way of conservation! Good job..great video...what an amazing shot from an amazing gun...it was instantly over!!!
Epic video hands down, thanks for putting up yet another classic hunting video, you're a class act, taking down the elephant with just one shot is just a testament of great marksmanship.
Thanks for coming to Zim & helping to shed some positive light on our beautiful country! Zimbabwe does have an overpopulation of elephant so trophy hunting is a good way of helping to control numbers whilst helping to fund other conservation initiatives - a lot of people dont understand this Sustainable Use conservation model. Also FYI, old elephant die by way of starvation - they wear through their 6 sets of molar teeth & end up eating but unable to digest the very coarse food, a terrible slow way to go, so to shoot an old elephant is a much quicker & less painful way to go with much less suffering. All the best from Zimbabwe 🇿🇼
That's great to see that conservation is working so well I have a question if someone wanted to go over there how many days should they play in for and what does it normally cost ?
Mr. Smith, where did you hunt in Zimbabwe ? I took my elephant in the South Dande concession. My I suggest, another elephant hunt in Zimbabwe, but this time, please explain to the audience the C.A.M.P.F.I.R.E. program and how it benefits the indigenous people. Further, please show how the "bush telegraph" works. How the people seem to just appear and what happens to the elephant once it's down. The vast majority of people are totally in the dark about this, and yet, I feel that the audience (anti hunters) would accept that the elephant population MUST be managed for the sake of the animals and the people. * I full well realize that it will not be a 20 minute video, but an informative video with interviews and a POV of the indigenous people and how hunting really assists the people in sustenance and employment. * Please show how the PH's pay for scouts in the off season to guard against poaching. ** I am, as you know, a fan . . . but why do you still have a full head of hair ? Just seems so unfair.
One day I hope to do a show with all that great info you gave here! Thanks for watching! Thats not my real hair...my real hair is black. [ In my dreams..]
Great video. Nice to see the results of game management and hunter's dollars going towards conservation, all which benefit local communities. Keep up the good work.
So Gunwerks makes 375 rifles now? Is this a custom option? I was wondering when I 1st saw you with a Gunwerks in Africa as I couldn’t see anything above 338 on their sight.
Great show J! When you go to Africa how does the tipping work for the workers, trackers, etc, Do you recommend bringing gifts, knives, personal items, clothing??
@@iangray1403 by culling one elephant for a large amount of money the park rangers are able to ensure that they have enough money to protect the rest of the herd from poachers. The park rangers need to buy vehicles they need to buy gas for those vehicles, pay the employees who secure the boundaries of the park to make sure the elephants are doing good. So by taking one elephant out you actually save a lot more. It's conservation 101
Conservation does not mean, "Leave everything alone". It means to conserve the resource, to maintain a healthy population. The resource includes both wild animals and wild lands. Without revenues, nothing gets done. Properly managed, sustainable hunting is key to wildlife and wild land conservation.
Thanks Alain, why the Ruger 375? Was it due to Action Length, Gunwerks doesn’t make a Long Action? Is 375 Ruger available in African Stores? Safe Journeys Always!
@@thevoyageur2152 The Ruger round performs great in the Gunwerks system and I have been curious about its so called "performance". After shooting several buff, elephant and bears with it I am sold that it's a good round and performance was outstanding. Not as available in Africa as the 375 HH
Oh I love to watch your Videos of African hunts. We can't wait to come back to Zimbabwe were all began ...once Afrika.. always Afrika! Great shot with the best calibre ever 375..

Can the countryside carry that many elephants i have not seen one big old tree yet in this video . there were some old stumps but only small scrub i hope that the place is not becoming a elephant park with no place for the bush baby .
Awesome Hunt, but a really ugly gun, typical American cheap made rifle that is all about precision and are "custom". But they Just looks like a 200 dollar rifle...
I thought exactly the same, it looks like a cheap toy, all plastic and bling, and why would anyone need a scope at 20 yds ? A really excellent hunt, compromised by equipment, but I suppose if that is all you can afford.
I’m glad you do what you Mr. Smith. You are a great ambassador for hunting, nature & the conservation of all natural resources. We need more people showing how it’s all connected.
Outstanding Elephant Hunt! People just need to see what the hunting brings for the species and the people around. My hat goes off to you!

If your condition is bad would you want someone to kill you with a Gun?
Not to mention the money for the elephant license that will go to conservation.

Ten days and the price is dependent on areas and size. Plan on around $45K.
