I'm piggybacking off of my friend's vpn at the moment, and I can say for certain express vpn does not work in china (i live in shanghai). L vpn at this point
Someone posted a video that Astrill works well in China and currently the best for China. I am also considering to purchase 2 VPNs, one for back up and very much appreciated if anyone could recommend me what VPNs do work in China. I am going to Mainland China and Tibet in Aug 2024. Thanks!!
Our typical apps for international users like whatsapp, facebook, instagram, google, etc are blocked by chinese government. So if you still prefer to use them while you are in China, purchase a VPN that can work in China before you go. When you arrive, get a local sim card to get access to internet. Activate your VPN and you can still access all those apps mentioned above.
@@soultravellerDonJohn No it is not that exaggerated. As you know there are millions of people using VPN, which means it's not possible for police to knock on everyone's door, unless you are actively performing anti-ccp activities with your access to global internet.
I’ve personally heard more about nordvpn than express vpn, but it was cool to learn more about express.
I actually mention Nord VPN around the middle of the video. Tried it about 4 years ago in China and it didn’t work at all.

it loads so slow... im using v1vpn and not only works, it works so damn good, like i don't feel im in china with the restrictive connection anymore

Nah, they displaced the team that was working on it back in the summer (laid off a huge bunch of engineers) its not the same now so use something else

surfshark doesn't work. you gotta go manual setup of WireGuard and input the servers files under the instructions of Surfshark staff. Not recommended.
