I also find that once you have your stamped image on the stamper, let the image dry for a minute, then color it in, let dry and put on a coat of clear top coat. Let the whole thing completely dry, and then it is easily peeled off the stamper.

I understand that the no smudge is water based and other polishes are solvent based and that’s why it doesn’t work to melt into a decal or knit together to create a decal.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I just got my first Maniology products a few weeks ago and now I'm hooked! I've already ordered more lol. These 'live' videos are great, especially because I can watch them here if I miss them live.
Also, I was dying to know where you got the cotton pads and I'm glad I stayed until the end of the episode when you mentioned it. Love these videos and love Maniology!

I realize this video is at least a year old, but I do have a question. Towards the end of the video you talked about cleaning your brushes. I know that Maniology's premium brushes can be cleaned with acetone. I bought Maniology's entire set of green brushes which came in the black protective case. Would these brushes have any problems if I use acetone on them? I have not used them yet and bought them earlier this year. Thank you for the video. Quite informative.

Hi Cindy, you can saturate a lint-free wipe with acetone, and then use it to gently wipe the bristles of the brush using a soft pinch. Alternatively, you can use a small glass container with a bit of acetone and dip your brushes in there and swirl them around to clean off any polishes. Please note that you can only soak the brush area and not the handle as it will damage the handle. Hope this helps!

@@Maniology Thank you so much for your response. I'm so glad that I now know that I can use acetone only on the bristles and not the handle. Thanks again. Really love the videos.

What was that tool you used to help clean the plate? Was it some kind of cotton pad holder?

Hi Theresa! I was watching this video this evening and came across your unanswered question. Perhaps you have already found the answer but in case you haven’t yet here is the answer. The tool is called the Maniology Pineapple Cotton Grabber. It costs $12.00 but is currently sold out on their site. It has a large plastic pineapple on the top which you depress. A triple pronged grasper emerges from the bottom that grabs a cotton pad or cotton ball so you can clean using acetone without ruining your manicure! Such a great and useful idea. If you don’t want to wait for this to be restocked a similar tool is on a few web sites. If you Google this you can easily locate several sites that sell these along with other products for nails. I hope this is helpful!💗💅🏻

Aren't you suppose to have a clear polish under the image before stamping & making decals? won't the stamp stay stuck to the mat?

    • @Maniology

Great question! We recommend putting the top coat on after you paint your stamped image. If the top coat is put on the mat first and then the stamped image all the paint that is colored inside the image will cause the top coat to constantly re-wet itself and it will start to crinkle, damaging your decal.
