Great idea for storing polish wraps. Thank you. I decided to cut the top half of the back of the sheet protector off, leaving the binder ring holes. I use it for creation of the polish wraps with the nail template behind it. When finished I store the wraps created on the top half of the sheet protector and cover it with parchment paper. I store the covered wraps in the bottom slot of the sheet protector and store it in a 3-ring binder. I then tape the top of the bottom half of the sheet protector across the page to prevent air from drying out the wraps.
Once I saw your decal video, decal making changed my life! I use them always! They really work well when you're stamping. If the stamping messes up, no problem. I never stamp directly on my nails. Thanks so much for sharing. Decal making inspired me to collect stamping plates and nail polish. I probably have 300 bottles of nail polish and at least 100 different stamping plates. I have really become addicted to manicures :-)
Very fun video! I've been wanting to try this for a while but didn't know how to do it and not apply them to my nails right away so thank you this is awesome!!
Glad you liked it. I have a new video where I tested more brands to use for the decals. th-cam.com/video/OMe6BAorgJU/w-d-xo.html And in this video I used the decal as an accent. th-cam.com/video/OMe6BAorgJU/w-d-xo.html
I did this exact same thing a couple years ago.. mostly because I had a lot of ideas for nails and not enough nails to try them all on so I made decals instead and put them in a photo album and everything BUT I used as many different clear top coats as I could find in a kind of "testing" phase to find the ones that stayed flexible and all of that but I recently looked thru my book of decals again after not using any for several months and they ALL hit brittle and started cracking and falling apart. So there is DEFINITELY a time limit for using these and I'll tell you that the wet and wild clear top coat, a clear base coat that orly makes, one that Revlon makes, and one from Sally Henson were there best at staying flexible for at least a few months but they all dried out and turned brittle after 8 months. This is an excellent idea and it does give you the freedom to create things you get an idea for even when you have no nails to paint at the time. Just use them quickly because you don't want to remember a perfect design you have decals for and go to get them only to find out they are brittle and fall apart when you touch them. 😟😭😞
Thank you for that information bc i was wondering. In case you're still interested there is a commenter (above your comment) named ellenlevenson who described how she keeps hers airtight 😊
I did this years back but not sure what clear I used. I drew my nails on something like Saran Wrap then flipped it over and painted it. I don't think I had dotting tools or stamps so I painted the designs on using toothpicks. I let them dry and peeled them off with no problem. I like your way too it's so organized. I didn't think you could keep them after you made them. I just made a set as needed. I stored my Saran Wrap, folded it and kept it with my nail polish. By using the Saran Wrap if you have nails that are short or long you can just draw a new set to keep. I'm glad I watched your video and thank you.
I love your idea, thank you so much for sharing it with me. I am glad you liked the video, I hope you will like some of my other videos. Thank you so much for watching. 😊
YES! Dollar Tree online! I’ve gotten 2 cases so far from Dollar Tree Online. At first I didn’t know what I’d use a case for, but as I’ve been watching, the uses for the Wet N Wild clear polish became apparent. I love that stuff. A case goes for about 24 bucks, and you can either have it delivered to dollar tree for you to pick up, or you can have it sent to your home.
Thats a great idea for storing decals! :) I always use wet n wild for decals also. We just have it here at walmart in canada. I will have to check out the other video as well. Thanks for sharing 💜
I actually got the wet and wild protective top coat, but no matter what i do i cant get it off of the ziplock bag. Very frustrating! Any thoughts? I tried thicker layers and thinner that i added more layers to, but no luck. Tried the tape. No luck. Any thoughts?
Hello there! What about the nail polish that goes on top of the clear coat? It should Stay flexible as well, do you know about any brands that work best?
What a great idea! I just bought a clear polish from Sinful Colors. I'm wondering if it will be as good. I have found the WNW clear in the newer bottle at Target and Five Below.
I haven't used the sinful colors when yet but I'll let you know how it works out for me. I like to use the super dry if I'm going to be using the decal within an hour but if you wait longer than that it's way too brittle.
When I make decals ahead, like for the next day, I find they get so dry they become brittle. They break instead of flex. Maybe a fresh coat of clear polish right before use would help?
Kristina Dickerson I have had them dry up too when I leave them on my nail mat. This really works they stay flexible, I don't know how. I rarely make my decals ahead anyway. 😊 thank you for watching.
Kristina Dickerson .. You absolutely have to use a clear top coat for the base that won't become brittle. There are some that become brittle and fall apart in one day and others that last and stay flexible for months. You have to test your clear coats. I've found that clear from wet and wild, Revlon, Sally Henson, and Orly worked the best when I did it but you should experiment by putting all the clears that you have on a plastic sheet and then let them fully dry and attempt to peel them off. You'll find out really quickly which ones work and which ones just aggravate the living crap out of you. Either they get brittle, won't peel up at a corner, fall apart , or split. Test your brands out first and save yourself the hassle of making beautiful decals only to ruin them when you try and get them off the surface you made them on !!

Try a stiffer plastic or a nail mat. The bags can be kinda tricky to remove from.

Can i use gel?
I've never used gel to make a decal, cured gel is kind of stiff. But if you have gel polish it doesn't hurt to try. 😊
If you try with gel, please let us know if it worked. I want to create some custom nail wraps as christmas gifts this year, and I only have gel.
