I was once studying, with a bunch of uni students that took several classes with me for a Calculus exam, and I was like, 'I am too old for this shit' and they though I was joking around, but I was almost 10 years older than the oldest one, I just looked like a 18 year old child that looked like I just came out of school when I was actually 26 and just wanted to continue my studies after like 6 years of being a lazy ass mofo...
What I love about the interactions between the animators is that they collectively view Juny as the little brother. They're so proud of him for being such a savant with the digital pen while also treating him like the baby boy that he is. Must be nice to have these many supportive brothers and sisters.

You know, between this and that animation project you made, it would be really cool if all these short animations were saved somewhere that they could be combined with cuts to make short movies, do a fandub over it. Some of these animations seem so good it's a shame not to repurpose them somehow. It's awesome to see artists collaborating, learning about notes and animation practices from more experienced artists, challenging them and building their self-esteem seeing the end results. It's such an all-around great concept and I love everything about it!
“Don’t shoot he’s not black” reminds of… well all of Ghost Stories but mostly the “I can’t love you not because you’re a rabbit but it’s because you’re black!” part.
6:03 The problem with that idea is that Zamasu hated mortals and wouldn't work with a regular Goku. The only reason he worked with Goku Black is because he was also Zamasu
Also, the only flaw with that whole arc was the ending. Everything else was kinda fine. Outside of Zamasu just not wiping out the mortals with the Super Dragon Balls, unless they have a "no killing" restriction.
The one where Mario grows at the flagpole is like an optical illusion. You assume the flag is right next to the blocks as it's typical Mario design, but then as he jumps off and gets closer he starts growing showing the blocks were in the background.
Kimmie's album actually looks like its 3D???? Mario jumped diagonally from the raised platform in the background to the foreground, missed, landed true center stage, and flopped forward downstage to hit the pole... unintentional? probably. Cool? Definitely.
"Pros Make Gartic Phone Animations" but if Ross says a frame is "actually pretty good" or says "this might just work" on a frame, he must pay the animator $10. Which isn't a lot, but it surely stacks over time. How charitable are you willing to be with your positive feedback? Great video, Ross!~

That 34 energy I feel. Graduating in 2004 has been a weird blessing and a weird curse in terms of times to be alive. I too animated on newgrounds back in the day. Wrote websites for Web 1.0. Embedded flash cartoons on my own web pages. And here we are, using web tech to collaboratively animate single frames AS a game, which is simul-streamed to thousands of people simultaneously, and the results of that multi hour long recording edited down to an hour and uploaded to TH-cam for hundreds of thousands of views. 2004 was 17 years ago. That is some crazy ass rapid tech improvement
Ross, the issue with your fix is that Goku never hit his head in the first place. That was only done in anime filler, the manga never suggested this. It’s even retconned because the day grandpa Gohan found Goku, Goku was a toddler in Saiyan armor. He never bumped his head. However, I completely agree that having Goku Black basically be a puppet for Zamasu makes more sense, I’d suggest it be Gokus body from Trunks future, Zamasu just uses Super Dragon Balls or god powers to revive it into a slave.

Ross feels old ... I'm 38. I originally intended to go to school for animation but, being the first person in my family to attend college, completely fell for a degree mill's promises. "Yeah we'll teach you animation" they said, and after I signed the contract they offered classes in flash programming taught by former students who didn't understand traditional animation. Dreams crushed, I kept doing art on my own and eventually focused more on the plastic (vs digital) arts, and now I'm doing digital again. An issue with Goku Black change Ross proposed is that the time ring only allow travel forward in time, and then back to the point from which you left, he could not go back in time and abduct and raise an evil Goku. Honestly while there are definitely issues with that story arc I don't perceive what he is trying to fix to be one of them.
If they could only travel to the future, they wouldn't really have to worry about paradoxes, though. (except for bringing things back, which they could easily avoid) anything that happens to a person while in the future doesn't matter, and neither does anything they do
@@cakeyeater7392 Yeah, the ring doesn't stop paradoxes, what Ross was referring to when he brought that up was when Whis mentioned a theory that the reason Goku black, who was the Zamasu from the main timeline's future, didn't disappear when Beerus destroyed the current version of him was because the ring was displacing him from the timeline. Also to be clear he wasn't using the ring to travel to different point in time, he was using the ring to travel to Trunk's alternate timeline which was running concurrently with the point in time in his timeline he was traveling from.
Hmmm. Yeah, the Goku raised evil would be an interesting story. Especially if Goku Black was so brainwashed by his upbringing he was full and well prepared to die as the last mortal to complete Zamasu's plan. The 'wish to have Goku's body' was a very strange concept since Zamasu already said he hates mortals having the power of gods so... why wish for a mortal body?

Ross is more referring to a random animal with no reference to another character being bloodied, maimed, etc. I really don't want to be that person, but that was a bit stupid obvious for me to point out, especially with near every animated show (*insert any time period of television here*) having an animal getting injured in some way. Ross grew up with animal characters being hurt or plays games where animal abuse is happening (aka Pokemon). Shit, I grew up on Tom & Jerry, and I really shouldn't have to explain why I brought up that cartoon.

Fixing the mistakes in DBZ not as a fanfic, but as like a list of just criticisms and corrections. That is what I do too! And Ross' idea here is 1000 times better than what we got! I've heard other good ideas to fix Super, but this one is a new one for me, and I love it!

Fixing the mistakes in DBZ not as a fanfic, but as like a list of just criticisms and corrections. That is what I do too! And Ross' idea here is 1000 times better than what we got! I've heard other good ideas to fix Super, but this one is a new one for me, and I love it!
