Hey brother man the screws are not actually screws they and push style rivets that are decorated to look like screws its no big deal I am going to replace them with real screws when I get it back and yes that was my edge. Awesome to see my blades on TH-cam. Thanks again for testing them
I think the impacts on the handle scales probably helped knock the screws out. If I had one, I would probably remove the handle scales cut them down a bit so the wood wouldn't impact them while splitting.
Yeah just to let everyone know that's my tomahook and I did not over torque or leave them loose the screws don't have threads they are a friction fit rivet they are garbage it has happened to me a few times they just need to be replaced with real screws. Which I will do when I get it back from tac
My Tomahook came from the factory sharper than I normally keep my stuff to be honest xD and after a few days of heavy usage my handle scales are a little loose but I've had no problem with screws falling out so I think that was cause of your buddy, what I'm going to do is put some LockTight on the screws and that should stop that from ever causing any issues, but I have been absolutely ecstatic about having bought one of these for myself, every time I take it out and use it I just get happier that I got it for my bug out bag :) I don't see the need to modify the handle like your friend did either, I never use gloves and I've had no issues with it being wider than the scales :0 you should also try out the digging applications of this thing! It really is my most favorite tool :)
I have a tomahawk with two inches bit at it works very well. But this one in an emergency can behave good as machete as well. So can be a good multitask option. Nice reviews you do mate.
Need to get rid of the handle six or eight inhches down from the head .it was stopping on the scales .it would have sliced right through..very nice but for the handle going too far up to the head.
think it might happen because the g10 acts differently from the sk5 when striking something. More flex in the steel than g10. Same thing happened with the scaxe3 I got. it's a different steel but I still think my hypothesis holds true.
With a little mod it would serve well. Better to see its weaknesses here while you're goofing around than while the owner could be in an emergency situation.
That thing looks medieval. You carry a burning torch in one hand and that axe in the other as you descend upon the village for a night of RM&P. Stripped screws like maybe over-torqued?
I've seen another video where the scales got in the way. what other handle types would you prefer. and also what about trimming the handle scales back to prevent that sht.
Nice review. Have you seen the Ontario SP16 Spax Tool? I know it looks weird as shit, but I've heard some pretty good things about it (including that they distributed those to folks at the scene of the 9/11 tragedy, and that they have one in the helicopter of the POTUS). Would be interesting to hear your thoughts on it.
Sweet demo bro. Want more of your tomahawk chopping testing whacking beat the shit out of it thing doing vids mate. Haha. You rock my brother. Atb for 2015 Cheers Mike
don't forget. it was modified before he reviewed it. the rivets were probably fine before. as another commenter said "a little Loctite will keep it solid."
Good review bro! I really want to send you one of my true flight throwers. It's semi new and I haven't thrown it yet. I need an address to send it to. Hit me up playboy. I wanna see you put it to its full potential.
I've been searching tomahawks on TH-cam, I'm more into wilderness use than tactical hawks, but what I'm learning is that a good tactical hawk can double as a good bush tool and survival tool, that's why I hesitated getting my WarBeast by 2Hawks did you ever hear of them, well their made out of 6150 carbon steel which is different than the 5160 at first I thought they made a mistake and typed 5160 but after researching the steel on zknives.com it's a pretty good steel for a hawk, my Trapper Double Bit Hatchet and the Voyager take a beating and so far no rolls or chips what so ever, and the esthetics is so good that it looks like someone that knows what their doing customizing a tomahawk their beautiful, their not coated but blued which makes them look top shelf, anyhow I thought my new Warbeast was for battle only but it's not and really surprised me the fact it has three sharp edges the main edge or face then a 1 3/4" Sharp edge on top and bottom of the head, made in such a way that when you chop deep it's so much easier to pull it right out of the wood, it's very similar to the Voyager except for the triple edge Simply TiT's, I also have the Gransfors Bruks Small Forest Axe like yours and I even had a Iltis Oxhead Customized and had it hanged on a White Hickory Handle it's German made a little heavy to on person carry but a great camp hatchet with its thin 5" cutting edge save alot of energy how it plows through everything, but the Warbeast is a Beast but it's a great bushcraft tool too, it's like two for a nickel if you know what I mean jellybean, sure do kangaroo, I've been playing with it and there is nothing I would change to improve it, it's a good looker, but it also a great functioning chopper especially for a Tomahawk, yeah no regrets it's a little more than the Voyager but it's well worth the price how easy it is to pull it out of the wood and how the three edge helps chop wood apart the first words that come out of my friends mouth is WoW what a Beauty, then I say but it works great too.

Good review Tac. I like Boker knives, surprised it blew a rivet like that.
